Cee had spent her time at Deus well, she thought. She was now in a proper room and she'd gotten a pretty good handle on the social scene. She knew who was cool and who to avoid. She'd heard tales of the past and witnessed all the delightful in-bickering of Deus-net. She felt solid here now, she felt like she'd made her own tiny niche. It was now time to extend that into the job itself and find herself something that she could make hers. Caelius wasn't even considered as an option. She'd seen and heard enough of him to know she wouldn't pull any wool over of his or convince him with her various charms. Mark was next on the list but when she'd gone looking, he must have been out. This left Gale. She hadn't met him and had only been referred. She knew he had a house in the town so knocking on his door wouldn't be convenient. Someone told her there was always issues between him and Caelius and while they weren't sure what his standing was, that he had an office she could check. So Cee was here. Not knowing what type Gale was or liked she leaned towards 'diligent division member' and dressed conservatively in leggings and heels with her belted coat and scarf wrapped up in her hair. Her knuckled rapped lightly on the door.

Gale's "office," for lack of a better word, was much less like an office and much more like a closet that was just barely big enough to fit a desk along one side, a swivel chair in front of it, and a second chair pushed to the side. A filing cabinet stood kitty-corner to the desk, and there were neatly laid piles of papers in careful rows. A little tin of pens was in one corner of the desk, a runic laptop in front of Gale as he leaned forward, a pair of reading glasses perched on the end of his nose. He was frowning slightly, clearly concentrating heavily on whatever was on the screen, and didn't seem to notice that someone had knocked on his door until Jinhai mentioned it. Stretching a little, twisting his neck, Gale swiveled around in his chair and pulled the door open to see...
...someone totally unfamiliar standing in front of him. He blinked, slightly taken aback, but reached up and pulled the reading glasses from his nose, tucking them into the neckline of his shirt.
"May I help you?" he asked.

"Hi.." Cee smiled, a natural and pleasant smile that didn't belay any of her true nature. She was even consciously speaking properly, though her unique accent couldn't be ignored. "I'm Concetta. Cee." She offered a finely manicured hand. "I'm kinda new I guess and pretty settled in but they told me to come to you fer some like guidance? For this division." SmileSmileEyebat. How old was this kid? He acted, already, like an old man but he couldn't be older than her!

She certainly knew how to smile nicely and act pleasant, that was for sure. Gale blinked at her, trying to figure out if he'd seen her before; the accent, along with the name, were both unfamiliar, however, and he wasn't sure what to make of her. Still, he reached out and took her offered hand, giving it a firm shake.
"I'm Gale Gentry," he said, "Though you probably knew that, since this is my office." And his name was written on the outside of the door. "Ah, so you're a new Death Division trainee? That makes sense. Why don't you come in, then?"
He stepped aside to let her pass, gesturing to the empty seat at his desk. It would be somewhat cramped with the both of them in here, but Gale was, to his annoyance, still somewhat small, so he didn't take up too much room.
"How long have you been awake, then?" he asked.

"Like uhh two months-ish?" She wobbled her hand in a so-so motion. "I think I was in my pod a while though, heh." Cee's eyes cast around the closet of a room and sat daintily in her chair. Clasping her hands in her lap put much more emphasis on her ample bosom. "I been doin normal duties and all. I went on that one mission thing.. with the weird rooms and the horsemen?" All very out of her depth if she was honest. "I guess I'm looking fer new things now I'm settled in. Stuff... ya know. Death Stuff." She grinned at him.

Two months was a long time for someone to be on Deus and not go to anyone for information about their division, but maybe she'd already done that and he was the last stop. Gale decided to give her the benefit of the doubt, and offered her a polite sort of look - though as Cee moved, showing off her assets, his cheeks warmed slightly. He gave a tiny cough.
"Did you need more information on the Horsemen?" asked Gale. "I've been studying them, if you'd like to turn your attentions to them. In my opinion, they're much more of an enemy than the Halloween creatures, since the Horsemen are their own brand of madness, and they're much more dangerous."
Gale gave a small shrug. "Or I could give you a couple of other suggestions, areas, you know, to look into."

"I need more info on like errything!" Cee bounced a moment eagerly. She was bright eyed and bushy tailed for someone who looked like one of those girls that was better suited to the club scene or a reality show set. "I did a couple external missions but nothin juicy." There was almost disappointment in her voice, natural in a newbie. "A lot of the horsemen stuff seemed outta my league fer bein new. But I read up on 'em alot on the network." Cee held up her phone, familiar pale blue and grey of their information networking app visible on the touch screen. She had a nicer phone for a newbie as well. Apparently Cee could get the things she wanted. "I'd love suggestions! Also uh.. kinda like wanting to research the weapons?" Because her own was such a difficulty to her, in terms of both relations and effectiveness. "Is that our department or...?"

She was very...vivacious, if that was the right word. Secretly Gale was wondering if she was even capable of handling the sort of things that Death Division was supposed to do, but this wasn't evident on his face, the stoic expression he always wore carefully in his eyes. The phone was given a mildly exasperated look, however, though Gale flicked his gaze back to Cee rather quickly.
"Weapon research is always in need of more people," he said lightly, tapping a finger absently on his desktop. "Are you talking about relationships between a weapon and its human, or are you talking about the creation of weapons, as in finding a Halloween creature and changing into a weapon?"

Cee leaned forward, definitely interested more by Gale's breakdown of it. She had sort of roped all of those factors in together in her mind and hadn't considered them separate areas. "Oh well kinna all of those things? At least till I know more." She squished her nose thoughtfully, as if she were about to share some small secret, "I have a hard time wit mine. In multiple ways." Cee finally admitted.

It wasn't all that surprising to hear that she was having a rough time with her weapon; not everyone had the same sort of symbiotic bond with theirs that others did, as made clearly evident by Stormy's weapon, Thane, and Gale's weapon, Jinhai. Thane was demanding and possessive and angry, while Jinhai was supportive and mild-mannered. The dynamics between them was completely different, something Gale had always been curious about.
"What sort of ways?" Gale asked, leaning back a little in his chair. "You don't get along with yours, then?"

"Uhhhhh..." Cee's eyes sort of rolled in thought. "Thats'a easy way to say it I guess. She doesn't say much ta me which can be kinda frustrating when I never used whips before. But she..." She shook her head. "Short answer I guess is no, we don'git along." It was hard to explain Snap's presence, like a silent oppressive weight on her at all times. Snap's presence bound her, encircled her, like claws around her heart. Everytime she tried to explain Cee ended up reverting to aggressive hand motions and weird noises because she literally had no words.

Gale frowned slightly, considering. "Have you tried using a weapon golem?" he asked. "For a trainee, you can have them out for about an hour, I believe; that way you could maybe talk face to face, see if you could work things out. I've used them a few times with Jinhai - that's my weapon - so I could help show you, if you'd like to go that route."

"Uh.." Cee shifted a bit and blinked, "No I din't know that was a thing. Sometimes it seems like bein a trainee don't git you a lot." She wasn't wrong. "But... like I dunno is it safe? Weren't they all monsters and s**t?" Because she didn't want Snap throttling her when she wasn't looking.

"It's not very common," Gale explained, "Though it's allowed. It's a rather complicated process, but essentially it will give you a humanoid version of your weapon's previous identity - not their natural form, of whatever creature they were, but whatever form they took while their FEAR was held in check. Jinhai, for example, is a dragon, but when he takes a golem form, he looks like a human - a human with horns and a tail and some scales," he added, with a slight smile, "but still a human."
He set the pen down on the table. "Golems are pretty weak," he said, with a small shake of his head. "You'd be in no danger. They can't handle too much stress, otherwise the golem will crumble. And they won't be able to use their abilities when in golem form, so they can't fight either. The most they could do would be push you around a bit, and say a lot of stupid things," It was clear he was thinking of a certain golem of his girlfriend's. "but really they're all talk and no bite."
Jinhai was silent, but Gale could feel the amusement in his thoughts. "What do you think?" he asked Cee. "If it's something you're interested in, I could help you out with that, or I can give you some more information about the Horsemen. I'm planning to do a few recon missions soon, so we would be able to get more."

"In my.. dream," Cee had to choose the word carefully, "She was an old lady in a suit." She nodded to acknowledge the human forms, understanding at least. The brunette had to wonder if Snap would appear as she had in the blue kingdom or if she would be more of a monster. No one there had horns or wings and when pledged to their king they adapted to his kingdom. Would Snap have horns or claws or vines to constrict her? Even Gale's assurances that it was safe didn't make her feel better. "I'm interested in gittin along better wit my weapon so if that helps," the woman shrugged, "I'm in I guess. I'll also be able to help wit missions too!" She perked and bounced in her chair, every part of her moving in attractive unison, "I'm all about learnin all I can. This is the intelligence division right?"
