[[I don't know how often I'll post here but pretty much when ever I get an alchemy related idea I'll write it here. I've seen some other people write quick little stories and I've felt inspired to do the same but didn't really have a topic worth talking about]]
Mina stacked her gold coins carefully around the large piece of paper, pushing the stacks to make sure they were straight and lined up with each other. Once she got them right she smiled and started to place the other ingredients needed for her formula. She was still an alchemist in training and working with a low level formula. The current formula she was attempting was to make a sunstone. She started by placing the smooth whetstones on the outer ring that was etched into the paper, meticulously adjusting them like she did the coins so that they mirrored each other. On the next ring she placed two copper tokens, adjusting them till they were just right as well. And in the center circle she placed a glass bottle that contained light from the sun its self.
"Alright." she smiled. "It's ready." She said, placing both her hands on the far sides of the paper and activating the circles drawn on the paper. The gold coins were the first to glow, disappearing slowly as they fueled the transmutation. She watched with an eager smile as the whetstones began to glow and melt down, the glowing liquid moving towards the center. The cork on the bottle popped off and the wisp of sunlight floated out, bringing the liquid stone with it. The copper tokens started to glow and melt into the stream of energy. All of it gathering together into the growing orb floating above the table. Mina's smile grew wider as she watched the reaction in progress, the large lump of glowing matter starting to condense and form into an oval shape. "Finally" She whispered.
Then the reaction turned black, Mina lost her smile and instinctively hit the floor as the reaction went south. The matter exploded sending material goo splattering onto the walls around the room. As the reaction lost energy the blobs of matter slowly lost their glow, returning to their original form and falling to the floor with a clatter. "Damn it Gaia!" Mina shouted as she got up. She quickly grabbed the bottle and a cork, having to chase the wisp of sun light around the room so she could reset for the formula and try again.

Mina the blue clothed alchemist sat on the dock at Barton lake. Beside her a bucket of fish sat nearly full. "Come on, just one more." she said, watching her bobber float in the water. She watched it carefully and when it sank down Mina yanked her pole. "Gotcha!" She cheered, wrestling and reeling in the fish on her line. Once she got it close enough she grabbed her net and scooped it out of the water. The fish she had caught was a blue bass, to her disappointment. Mina sighed and put the fish in the bucket. "Eh, better than drift wood." She mumbled.
She was ready to cast her line again when a white block covered in jumbled text appeared in front of her. Mina groaned. "Dear Gaia please save me from this monster." she grumbled. The block turned red and buzzed. It changed back to white and had new jumbled text. "I wasn't even trying!" Mina shouted, the block buzzed again and changed it's text. "Will you stop that!" She screamed. The block buzzed and changed again. "Astlik gaftfa!" Mina said, reading what the block said. The block buzzed and changed. "Adsfdgh kdfiyb!" The block buzzed and changed. "Gastofi srenpla!" Thge block buzzed and changed. "Grrrrephat gellititit" The block buzzed and changed.
This continued for hours, Mina would scream at the box and the box would buzz and change. At one point Mina stopped trying and just shouted obscenities at it. The box would buzz and change. Mina would try it's torturous word scramble again. The box would buzz and change. She would physically assault and throw the box in the lake. It would buzz back into her face, then change. When Mina finally got it right, either through sheer luck or the box having had its fill of tormenting her, it would ding and turn green before floating away. Mina panted heavily and kicked her now empty bucket. "******** you!" She shouted to the box. "******** you and your ******** fish!" She screamed. She stormed off the dock and was greeted by old man Logan.
"Hey there little lass, how gos the fis-" Before he could finish his greeting Mina kicked him right between the legs, knocking the giant fisherman to the ground in almost unparalleled agony. Mina stormed off with a limp and left the lake, choosing to stalk the market place and the exchange forums to get fish hassle free.
