It had been a week, or so since Miss America's birthday. But it didn't stop Noemi from venturing down to the baseball field and tossing balls to herself. Of course it was better with another, or a whole team but not everyone could be free enough to play with her. Or just throw ball with her.
She hadn't thought she'd get a chance to get on a field again, after leaving her home, so she took small pleasure in it.
She had the glove, tossing the ball up really high in the air and backing away fast to catch it.
Then did it again. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Molly had a small covered bin of cupcakes in her hands. She had heard recently that is was someone's birthday...but she had missed it! Oh no! She had underwater pod duty during the time, and she just felt awful. So she had worked on making it better! She had made cupcakes for America...and now she just had to find her.
Hmmm...
While she was wondering around, Molly paused as she caught sight of Noemi...playing with a ball by herself? She stopped and stared for a while before she veered off the beaten path and towards Noemi.
"H-hi there..!" She called out to the girl, and smiled. "Are you getting ready for a game...?"

Several blocks away, America was tossing down her work gloves and stripping off her light flannel shirt to wipe down some of the sweat and dirty that had accumulated all over the rest of her. Her shift for the afternoon had been done well over and hour ago, but there'd been only a couple small windows left on the the house (a small Victorian made of odd, fussy angles that had been trial to her these past few days.)
Less than enthused over the effectiveness of the shirt as a towel, the girl poured out rest of her water bottle over her head. Not nearly good enough. A cold shower might be the thing, or maybe she should fill up the kiddie pool and just lounge shamelessly while sucking down freezer pops. Possible plans for the rest of her afternoon lined up in America's mind as she walked toward the Red Bull to check the progress and harass the owner.
For someone just finished with a hard day's work, she had a decided bounce in her step and satisfied glow as she crossed the park. There was just something so very good about finishing a job. The Victorian itself was nearly done entirely for basic repairs, which would make for half the that particular neighborhood now being livable. And not even a gross ghetto livable. They were very nearly approaching nice.
Passing by the two, lost in her plans, America waved a cheery, but absent, hello to the girls. Moments later she ran backward, eyes bright, she eagerly asked, "Are you guys gonna use the park?"
People using a place she'd helped clean and fix!

Noemi's head turned to Molly, forgetting she had thrown a ball in the air. In a span of a second, she was hit on the head with the ball, crouching down in pain.
"Ahhhhhhh....Owwwwwwwww." The ball rolled a bit off to the side. "I was...just throwing to myself Molly." Noemi rubbed her head and offered the other redhead a smile. "Do....do you want to play? With me?" It was better with two people.
Even America passed by which earned a wave from Noemi.
And then she was running back.
"O..Oh Miss President!" Noemi smile turned to the THIRD redhead to join them. "We were discussing! Do you want to play too?"
Molly panicked, the hairs on the back of her neck standing straight up. "Ah! Are you alright!?" She asked Noemi, her brows fretting in worry, before she blinked. "Uh...play...? Oh...you mean toss the ball with you?" A pause. "Oh, I've love to!" She exclaimed, and as America passed them, Molly beamed at the other hunter.
"Hello, Miss America!" She greeted, and then looked back at Noemi with a smile. A moment went by and then she whipped her head around to look at America. "OH! WAIT! PLEASE--OH!" She looked horrified once she saw that the red head was right there. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to yell!" She then presented the cupcakes to the Moon Hunter. "These are for you, for your belated birthday!" She had made blueberry and raspberry cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.

She took in the invitation and treat wide eyes, turned, and ran away from the two of them and into the Red Bull. A minute later, America was returning with another glove, a bat, and a large jug of lemonade, ice bobbing merrily within. Panting a bit, the girl beamed at the other two. "I'd love to play!"
She could rest any old time, but first, "Those cupcakes look fantastic, Miss Molly, thank you much! I think an afternoon of treats and ball are just what I needed I need today." Taking one, she shoved the whole thing into her mouth with a look of wide-eyes pleasure, and gestured for the other two to do the same. Sugar was important when you were gonna be gettin' all athletic like.
While America couldn't quite talk with her mouthful and still be the polite young lady she so obviously was at all times, the girl did make a big show of how very delicious the cupcake was, tears practically in her eyes as she groaned around the mouthful.
O..Oh. Noemi watched as America ran away. Briefly she wondered if she scared America away! Or maybe cupcakes did? Noemi stared at Molly's cupcakes. Thy could scare away people right?
"Oh!" Noemi squeaked as America came back and smiled at the girl, even as she ate. "Do you want..." Noemi sparkled a little. "Do you want to actually hit some balls out? I'm...I'm not a bad pitcher!" She nodded, "And batting is good?"
It was too bad they didn't have any outfielders but Noemi would go fetch the ball anyways!
"And Miss Molly can catch behind you!"

As America zoomed off again and came back, Molly was staring between the two and realized something important. She didn't have a glove. Oh no! How could she play without one? Molly fretted about this, and was temporarily distracted as America took a cupcake and then ate one. She watched the trainee anxiously, hoping she'd like it, and seemed utterly relieved when she did.
"Oh good..." She breathed, and then tilted her head, looking troubled.
"Um...I don't have a glove...I'm sorry!"

America was on her third cupcake, a large streak of frosting one cheek, as the dilemma came up. With a broad smile she swallowed her bite and tossed Molly the extra glove she'd brought. The treats and lemonade were set on a nearby picnic table, and after slaking her thirst and washing down the delicious cupcakes, America seemed raring to go.
"We can take turns!" But she did indeed take the batting position first.
the ooc
Pitcher rolls first! 1d10! Batter rolls second! 1d10! If their roll is within 3 of the pitcher's, it's a hit! Same number is a homerun! If the difference is greater than 6 something awful happens! Catcher: If the batter misses, roll 1d10, if the roll is within 5, you catch the ball. If the difference is greater than 7 something awful happens.
Noemi was watching America devour cupcakes at an alarming rate, wondering if the girl would be okay inhaling sugar like that. Since America seemed to be alright, she just smiled dopely at the two.
But Molly's concern was real and Noemi almost offered her glove because she didn't need it really!
But America to save the day! "Okay!" Noemi smiled from her spot on the pitchers mound. "I'll pitch first, are you ready Molly?" Noemi gave America a thoughtful gaze before throwing the ball..pretty quickly. Almost fast ball if it wasn't for the lack of power to ease Molly into it.
America did a dramatic butt waggle as she adjusted her stance and did a practice swing. Then she spit to the side, adjusted a hat she wasn't wearing, and signaled to no one in particular with a pleased grin that turned into an exaggerated air of serious business as Noemi wound up to pitch.
She hadn't quite been expecting Noemi's pitch to be so swift and tidy. While she hit the ball, it was just a pop fly, high up but close enough for either of the other girls to catch it.
