He and Mitsu had found a nice apartment finally, and it was now time to get all his things together to leave the school. It was still a fair bit of work, and such, he wanted some time to relax and clear his head. Given that his room was currently a bit of a mess, he made his way up onto the rooftop of the reaper dormitory and took in a deep breath of the air.
The reaper made his way over towards the edge, gazing out over the campus. This was his home for the past few years, and they had been... interesting to say in the least. Shaking his head, he seated himself down and closed his good eye so that he could begin to meditate.

Estel had meant to go straight to her room in the ghost dormitory and get herself settled. She had a room! Of her own! All for her! She had meant to drop her stuff off and maybe write a little bit in her journal before looking around, and she'd even made it as far as the stairs before it hit her that she would be going down.
That made her think again.
A moment later, she began to walk, shoulder-bag bumping against her hip and the worn leather suitcase she carried hitting her knees with every step.
She wasn't entirely positive where she was going, only that she would know when she arrived. She was going to meet someone, and even if she had no idea who, it didn't particularly matter. Her feet lead her through a nice-looking building, the reaper dormitory, up several flights of stairs, and out onto the roof.
"There you are!" She broke into a very brief sprint, coming to a neat sliding halt next to Shun, the suitcase she held in both hands smacking into her knees as she slid to a halt. "I was looking for you, I think!"

An unfamiliar voice called out, and such Shun almost thought someone was shouting at someone else that might have sneaked onto the roof. But then he also heard a sort of skid right beside him. His eye snapped open and he turned to see a ghost with a suitcase. He didn't recognize her at all.
"...I think you have the wrong person. And the wrong dorm if you're moving in just now," he stated, eyeing her bag.

"I don't think I like being underground all that much," Estel said, biting her lower lip. "Well, it can't be helped. I'll get used to it, I'm sure." She'd have to live there, like it or not, unless she wanted to bother the faculty - which she certainly didn't, not on her first day.
She set the suitcase on the ground, leaning it against her legs, and rubbed at the bruises ringing her neck. "I hope I'm not bothering you. You didn't look like you were busy. I'm Estel! You?"

Shun blinked a few times, not entirely certain what to make of this girl. His gaze shifted to the bruises around her neck, furrowing his brow. A remnant of her former life perhaps? He hasn't really seen a ghost bruise much otherwise.
"Shun," he stated curtly while shifting himself to face her a little more, "I was meditating."
A moment's pause went by as he regarded Estel.
"...What exactly do you want?"

"Nice to meet you, yeah?" Estel held her hand out automatically, smiling.
What exactly do you want? That was a good question. "Do you mean in a long-term overarching goals kinda way or do you mean right now?" She sat down cross-legged in place on the roof, folding her skirt over her knees. "This is my first day, so I figured I should start making friends. What year are you in...?" She had a feeling he wasn't a new student. Maybe it was the eyepatch.

That question given in turn had him give her another sort of blank expression. Shun really did not know what to make of her.
"..I've graduated," he replied a little slowly. The girl wanted friends, which was fair enough he supposed. However, she picked a rather odd location to start socializing.
And an odd person too. The reaper didn't really think that he looked like a particularly approachable candidate. Granted, he had softened up somewhat since the day he had first come to the school.

So much for meeting her classmates. She was a little disappointed about that, although she supposed she'd get an opportunity to meet them soon enough. Seeing that he wasn't about to shake her hand, Estel dropped her hand back to her side, undaunted.
"Congratulations," she said, because it seemed like the right thing to say. "I don't wanna be rude or anything, but... why are you still here if you've finished school? Do a lot of alumni hang around? Are you going to become an instructor?"

"In the process of moving out, but alumni do hang around the school a fair bit. We aren't restricted from taking more classes or whatever," Shun shrugged lightly before giving a scoff, "Not really much I could instruct unless it's combat based."
Even then, he figured he'd dislike having a whole class at his disposal. His brow furrowed in thought. There was more to it than just that, as well.
"Besides, I'd like to keep an eye on the s**t that happens around here," he mumbled under his breath.

Looking up at the reaper from her seat on the roof, Estel nodded. "Oh, good. So they won't kick me out in a few years, huh? That's nice." She smiled.
"Combat. You're a good fighter, aren't you." It wasn't a question. "I'd like to learn while I'm here. I'm pretty useless right now." Although her tone was light-hearted, her eyes darkened. It was clear enough that she genuinely did feel useless, and she wasn't happy about it.

"I could always be better," Shun stated flatly with a light shrug. For a moment, his good eye narrowed as he stared at her while he ominously added, "You will learn to fight or you'll fall flat on your face. I'll give it to you straight. s**t gets dangerous around here."
It wasn't easy to kill one of them, but he figured knowing how to defend oneself could at least prevent some degree of incoming pain. Perhaps they'd be able to do a little more to sway the tides when chaos breaks out all around.

Estel grinned at that, nodding. "I think I like dangerous," she said, sounding a little surprised at herself. The topic had never come up during the time she'd spent in Liruna's household, but now that it had - danger sounded fun.
Pulling her suitcase up into her lap, Estel wrapped both arms around it. "This is the reaper dorm, right? You're a reaper, aren't you?"

The reaper raised his brow at that, slowly tilting his head. That sounded a little naive, but she was still fairly young from the looks of things. Maybe. It was difficult judging the ages of undead and ghosts. Granted, she was a fresh student so she likely wasn't too old.
"It is, and I am. A grim, to be exact."
Shun eyed her once more, then deadpans, "You hadn't entirely answered my question from before. What do you want? You didn't come up to the rooftop simply looking for someone to speak to did you?"

Estel nodded and then paused. "I came here to find you, I think. I was hoping we could be friends, yeah?" She shrugged. "I'm - I find things. And... people too, now, I guess. It's been happening that way, since I... died. I get where I need to be, even if I don't know how to get there."
It was a bit of an awkward explanation, but she had never had to give it before.

"I don't think that's quite how friendship works," Shun blinked. Or did it? He tried to think back to how he made his friends.
And that netted him no real answer for how it worked. It was a strange and elusive thing. He wasn't even sure when the line of acquaintance or ally was crossed into 'friend'.
