Lan sighed in contentment, after the catastrophic day between them and the other crazy pair he had spent a few tender weeks with Amber, relaxing, healing and getting to know this new feeling that they shared together. His eyes truly sparkled with happiness in a way they had not for years, so many years of pain and battle and now here he was. The most scarred ex member of the six, sitting high and truly happy with his most beautiful mare and should he say mate. He gave the empty air a suave grin. Life was good. Amber was all healed and he had a new collection of scars with her name on it. Crazy female, but he adored her, it took her spunk her energy her sunshine to get through the layers upon layers of not caring, not feeling, to the core of him.

"Something the matter precious?" he asked and then really really looked at her. "Um well have you considered that our ...well our night time tryst after we were all healed may or.. ahem may not have.. resulted in um.. foals?" He tippy toed around the words, who knew what his gorgeous princess would think about her condition. Probably be miffed that she couldn't go on missions as she called them.

So he tried to paint a new picture for his mate, "Just think Amber our own hoard of little ninjas." he smiled and waited for her reaction, expecting a small volcanic eruption in their cozy little barn that still smelled of human, he was going to have to stop skulking around one of these days and actually get to know her..human. Or Hyena Chow as he liked to call her.

He came over to curl around her. "There is no more important mission then motherhood. It will be your longest and is something I myself in all my power cannot do." He winked at her. "An amazing, prestigious mission that only you can complete and kick butt in. Fatherhood I can do, motherhood not so much."

"So what was this other mission you were talking about? The one your bonded went on?"

"And yes you should have, but its good news so I don't mind so much." He tickled her sides with his nose. He choked back a laugh at her words.
"Your sure thats not morning sickness or something sweetheart?"

"Well I've heard that the humans get ill in the morning, I don't know if we would either. Really do I look like I have raised oodles of children?" He smiled. "Course I'm delighted to change that."

He nuzzled her back. "I'm so happy with you Amber. You become more dear to me by the moment." He stood beside her and nuzzled her face. "I bet they will be as beautiful as you."

Lan chuckled a bit. "Enemies knees' will shake before our black and purple hoard of beautiful and strong ninja's I assure you."

"And its okay if you are not good at the mushy stuff, gives me time to work on my own..mushy skills. Also I think our neighbor might be a bit...taken aback by our easy affection. How did you end up as a roomate to Serenne anyway.. she seems so..un- ninja like."

He tilted his head, his mind flitting about like a sparrow. "Have they kicked yet? Are they old enough?"

Lan smiled and nuzzled her back.

"Hmm, a thief, charming." He made a flat look. Then his face perked up a bit at more private. That would be truly welcome for him not having to have his back up at all times in case either her bonded or one of the neighbors walked in. It was due to his background, he was on technically enemy lands and although tired of the war and all its collective crap it was hard to adjust so much in such a short time.

But where could they go? Down, Amber would be in danger, closer to the king's land he would be in danger and would be terribly uncomfortable.

"I would like someplace quieter, perhaps with a few friendly neutral azrein, or complete isolation, maybe a small territory where there are no others except a herd or two that have their own lands. What do you think? I'm not exactly that comfortable here and up and down is dangerous for one or the other."

He smiled delightedly at her last comment.

"Um I er... I haven't even seem someone cry before. There, there Amber." He nudged her not knowing what else to do. Probably just hormones. Told you motherhood would be a mission, yourself is your opponent."

"Some alone time is much needed. Shall we look for a place?" He had a few ideas but her opinion was what really mattered.

He smiled at her retreating backside. She would make a great mother. He trotted after her eagerly. Freedom. No more confines, but surrounded by the outside, so open, so free, so..much to prepare for. They would have to find a suitable place for her to deliver and live...maybe thick underbrush..or a cave or at least an overhang yes he liked the overhang idea. Only him, himself and Amber.. ahh he craved it.. the relative peace, the closeness, all of it. Who knew he would be such a family man after not being close to anyone previously.

He pranced after Amber, his body rejoicing in the extra space.
