This is a Solo RP between Wasteland Wyvern's (Formerly Snow_Leopard_Anthro's) Soquili Senshi and Blight, with implications towards Blight's, currently still in baskets, children.

Blight sighed, staring at the baskets in front of her, sitting next to where she usually bedded down to sleep. Luna had placed the newborn foals in the baskets to 'complete their development'. Blight was unsure what that meant but Luna would not let her see the foals as she birthed them. Something about tradition and how her people often did this for the Soquili they cared for.
Blight was as nervous of a mother as one could be, but it was understandable. This was her first pregnancy and the father was not her mate, just a passing stranger that stole her heart. The sigh returned as her thoughts turned to Svanbjorn. He was so handsome, with a roguish smile that she hoped he only showed her.
She heard a branch snap nearby and turned her head to the sound. Senshi, the herd 'leader' was coming out of the woods, likely on one of his odd patrols to ensure there were no predators around. She rolled her eyes and called out to him, "Senshi, brother? Could you watch the baskets while I go for a drink at the stream?"

Senshi listened to the forest around him on his patrol. Luna had recently moved her home to the nearby woods, settling it on the outskirts of a dark forest. Senshi was unhappy with the move but as herd leader he took it in stride and started his patrol routes soon after the move.
He'd just finished his current rounds and had come back to the clearing near the forest, the tall grass tickling his calves. He noticed Blight was fussing over her baskets and couldn't help his ears pinning back against his head. Those 'children' of hers would be monsters. He was judging innocent lives that he had no way of knowing if they'd be evil but he had never trusted any who held blood of the beast as he called it.
Blight suddenly called him over using the term brother. He almost reprimanded her for that, but caught his tongue between his teeth before he could speak the works. She was not his sister, and he was not her brother. It was a term that Leilani had brought to the herd and even if one of them developed feelings for the other it would seem wrong on a base level. His ears still slightly pinned backwards he walked towards the baskets and nodded his consent at watching them.

Blight could see that Senshi didn't like having to watch the baskets but his consent made her feel that he was warming up to them. Little did she know she was dead wrong.
Walking swiftly to the stream that dropped over a nearby falls she took a deep drink from the crisp cool waters. This was much better than the lake they used to live near because the still waters often heated quickly in the summer heat and would taste stale and foul if drunk.
Lifting her head she heard birds in the canopy that distracted her. Their song was lovely and she couldn't help humming along with the tune they chirped. As a flutter she didn't have the connecting to birds as a wind would have but that didn't stop her from enjoying the song of the birds.
Thirst sated she finally walked back towards her children and the sight she saw caught her breath and froze her in place.

Senshi stared daggers at the baskets, his fathers genes showing in his anger. His father was a purist and hated all other breeds. Considered them mutants and freaks. Especially the ones that could fly.
It almost seemed as if the baskets could sense his malice and started to move, one of them made a distressed noise.
He could smash them flat. Kill them before they ever emerged from those baskets. He was old enough and big enough that crushing them wouldn't be an issue.
He reared and fell to the ground, hooves inches from the nearest basket, the one marked with just a small ghostly symbol, and a blue gem. Steeling himself he reared again, and something hit him hard in the side.

Blight had rushed forward and hit Senshi hard in the side, toppling the larger stallion with her sudden rush. He crashed to the ground as she whinnied angrily at him, "How could you! These children are part of your herd, part of this family!" She was so angry she could have bit him, her teeth gnashed together.

From the ground Senshi watched the angry mare as she reamed him out. In his heart he knew she was right, but those children were monsters. He just knew it.
He pushed himself to his feet and glared daggers at her. "Those are not my family and will never be a part of my herd! Those things are not even children. They are the spawn of a demon!" There he had said it. His judgement was final and he refused to change it now in the face of the young mothers wrath.
"It was your sin, breeding with a half blooded demon that brought those freaks amidst us, and I will have no part of them!" He walked away his shoulders ridged with the anger he felt, but at the same time his heart was heavy for he knew he had lost the friendship of his herd sister.

Blight gasped as he called her children demon spawn and freaks. She'd never seen Senshi this way, but had been told by Rhamiel that when incensed he became an insufferable a** that contradicted the sweet stallion she'd be introduced to. She would never take her eyes off the baskets again. Not until they emerged as happy young foals, and she would never judge them for their blood, because it was her mistake that brought them into this world, and father or no she would give them the happiest life possible.

This she promised, with just a whisper of words to each of the little ones still growing inside their baskets.

As she whispered the words each basket moved and made a squeaking noise that brought a smile to the young mother's lips.
