Survey Mission 4BLocation: The Abandoned Takakonuma Greenland Park Images:: x, x, x. General debriefing: Recently, the park opened itself up for a different type of tourist crowd, making itself a fun tourist set for locals, until unexplained deaths began happening to those on-site. Falling beams, uneven flooring, and occasionally, witnesses have claimed that they hear voices, oddly enough of themselves through the fog. * C class difficulty level (must have a team of three, at least one of them must be an intermediate trainee) MECHANICS * MECHANICS: RP assembling a team, as necessary, before heading towards the Lighthouse portal to request a portal to Survey Mission 4B. Once there, roll a 100-sided dice and match the roleplay to the results below, as well as any reactions. Players can continue rolling until any of the players roll a INSANITY ENCOUNTER, in which case the BATTLE PHASE begins. See below for battle phase mechanics. 1- 20: You have a hard time getting past the fog, everything thick and desolate. Finally you see something, a flash of something, colour in the fog. You run over to it to discover that it is a mutilated corpse. Its face has been torn clean off its head, maggots crawling out of the skull. 21 - 40: You notice that some of the rides are moving on their own, from the roller coaster - still taped off with DANGER DO NOT ENTER - to the excuse of a ferris wheel. A body slumps to one side of the ticket booth, dried out. You turn around as you hear a strange hissing noise. As you turn back, the body standing, still, in front of the ticket booth. 41 - 60: You stumble for a second, as if someone, one of your teammates have shoved you, but when you look around, you notice that there is noone else in sight. 61 - 80: You see a mirror maze, and walk into it, your reflection eerie in each broken mirror fragment. Everything suddenly turns an oblique white and as you regain your vision seconds later, all your reflections have been replaced with your body melting, face and skin melting right off your face's reflection. Your reflection continues to copy everything you do. 81- 100: BOSS ENCOUNTER: - As you continue walking down the sidewalk you hear a large crack, followed by another. A strange gas explodes from underneath, making you extremely dizzy, as you cough to figure out what is going on, fighting for air now. You have exposed your entire team to a hallucinogen, making everything more terrifying than ever as your vision swims and hops uncontrollably and your hearing becomes muted. Something creaks, groans, lurches underneath you, but is that your imagination? - BOSS MECHANICS: This boss is a mob that has collective 100 HP. Every time you attack it (following the general battle rules), you TAKE 8 damage. AS you can't really see the boss, most of it will have to be dependent on what you can see, if anything at all, from strange faceless figures lurching, half-hopping towards you to the smiling dead coming back and swiping at you. Make sure to tally the boss's total HP (the damage you did to it) at the bottom of your post as well as your total HP and the damage you did that round. If the boss's HP hits 0, you have defeated it, and your team can now take the portal back.

Noemi's new orders for a exploration of a amusement park was met with the usual feared and very much nervous girl's reaction. Meaning she was there, but she was jumping at small sounds, looking at the lab tech's...Ducking her head.
The only good thing is that she would be assigned with Jake, who did the training with her! And he was a full hunter! There was also someone named Sherry and she wondered who it was and hoped they were nice and not scary.
She didn't want scary people AND a scary mission.

Sherry would have agreed with Noemi. Scary people and scary missions would not have been fun. Sherry didn't like them separate, and she certainly didn't like them together. At least scary people were easier to avoid than missions. Missions, however, were usually orders. It was on orders that Sherry stepped into the lighthouse wearing her full gear (coat, scarf, bandages tucked away, flask in it's pouch), and ready for a mission. Scouting an amusement park. For some reason horror movies (that she never really liked to watch anyway) came to mind. Which was why she was extra glad Jake had been assigned along with her. He was excellent back-up. She'd never met Noemi, and Sherry hoped she would be competent as well. Sherry had faith she would be.

Jake may have fit the scary part, but Sherry? Sherry was probably the farthest thing from scary there was. Her presence itself could probably summon sunshines and rainbows. At least... on a good day. He did have to admit she was kinda scary when pissed.
Though, in terms of "scary", Jake was wondering if having Noemi do an external mission right after that training course was a good idea. Surely the course itself had been traumatizing, and for EMs, well... golems weren't provided. At the very least, he was cleared for equipment, AND Sherry was on the team, so between the two of them, they should be able to handle most of the hard part, as well as keep Noemi from harm.
And so, he too was equipped with runics and bandages before making his way to the lighthouse, waving to the two girls. "Sherry! Noemi!"

She jumped again as Jake came running over and waved weakly at the death hunter. It seemed Sherry was indeed the woman who had come in earlier and now Noemi felt like a idiot because she hadn't said hello.
"H...Hi." She offered nervously or shyly, depending on how you looked at it, at Sherry. "Miss Sherry? I'm Noemi." She waited for Jake to catch up before pointing to the portal.
"We...we are investigating a haunted....amusement park...." She twiddled her fingers. "Th...Thank you for coming." And with that she was off through the portal. As she exited, she found herself quickly immersed in fog.
"J..Jake? Sh..Sherry!?!?" Noemi twiddled her hands together. It was so thick she couldn't make out-Oh there! Tehre was some color! She ran towards it, expecting it to be her team mates. Instead it corpse with its face ripped off. She tripped backwards with a very loud scream.

Sherry had been looking around, eying the techs, and wondering if the timid girl over there was her. Sherry didn't really want to go assuming things, so she'd held back, deciding to at least wait until Jake arrived before prodding the other. And it seemed that, yes, Noemi it was. Jake clearly seemed to recognize her, at least. He was given a wave, and Noemi was given a smile. "Yes! I'm Sherry! It's nice to meet you, Miss Noemi." Sherry made mental note of the girl's name, thought she doubted she'd forget it. Especially since she seemed like a really sweet girl. A little shy perhaps. Or nervous. Sherry could understand being nervous about this. "Not a problem! Stay close, on your toes, and keep an eye out. Everything will be fine!" Sherry was ever hopeful, okay. Besides. She and Jake had survived terror before. "Both of you got that?" Sherry did reach out to take Jake's hand and give it a little squeeze before she followed Noemi through the portal. Quote: 21 - 40: You notice that some of the rides are moving on their own, from the roller coaster - still taped off with DANGER DO NOT ENTER - to the excuse of a ferris wheel. She found herself in fog. Oh, that wasn't a good sign. Nor was the scream. "Noemi! Jake, we need to find her!" Sherry darted off in the direction she hoped the girl was in. The fog was thin this way, enough she could see a few rides, idly moving in the wind. It was eerie. So was the...Oh, goodness. That was a body in the ticket booth. A dry body, older. Not fresh. Still the stuff of nightmares. Sherry swallowed, taking a step back. This place was no good. Sherry heard a noise. "Noemi! Jake!" She turned around, looking. Fog... As she turned back, her eyes moved over the booth, scanning. Or, they would have, if the sight of the body...now standing, upright, on it's own, outside of the booth hadn't garnered all of her attention. s**t. Armagnac was summoned. "Noemi! Jake!" Sherry was pretty sure she'd made a grave mistake in darting off like that. She really should know better.

Quote: 41 - 60: You stumble for a second, as if someone, one of your teammates have shoved you, but when you look around, you notice that there is noone else in sight. It was a relief to see Noemi and Sherry hit it off, though it wasn't like there's be any problem with that. In fact, he wasn't sure if there was anyone Sherry DIDN'T befriend.
It didn't take long for Jake to catch up to the two, and he smiled and nodded. "Of course. Be prepared." While he knew Sherry was being helpful and optimistic, Jake didn't really like sugar-coating things. Besides, she already had a taste of "death", and would probably know this mission wasn't going to be a day at the ball park.
(Maybe because it quite literally wasn't)
It was a little embarrassing to have Sherry hold his hand like that, but Noemi had already gone through the portal, and he knew it was just a form of sentiment. After Sherry went through the portal, he went through himself.
------
The moment he stepped through, he heard a scream, and Cheater was instantly summoned. "Noemi! Sherry!" Crap, he should have gone first. He looked around desperately, wondering where they could have went, when he felt someone push him, and he stumbled forward. Had one of them run I to him?
Turning around to see who it was, Jake gave a dumbfounded look when it turned out to be... no one. What was... going on here?

Noemi's crawling out of the fog, hearing Jake and Sherry calling for her led her closer to the rides. Even closer to the entrance of the theme park. She twiddled her fingers as she kept calling out for the two hunters. "S...SHERRY?" She turned her head at the voices, wishing she could see them now, "J...JAKE?" The mist huntress only turned when she heard a hiss from the ticket booth. And a figure in it. "E..Excuse me!?!?!" She moved closer and noticed it was ANOTHER body, her face paling much more considerably. She couldn't even manage another scream as the rides came to life, drawing her attention from the slumped corpse. When she looked back, it stood tall...staring at her.
"SHERRY, JAKE!!! I CAN'T I CAN'T..." Noemi started running again, towards them, where ever they were.

"Guys?" She turned, expecting to see either Jake or Noemi. But there was no one. Sherry shivered and gripped Armagnac tighter, images of the body from before flashing through her mind. And then she heard Noemi again. "Noemi! Hang on!" Towards the voice, she hoped, Sherry ran. Was that a figure in the fog? It was hard to tell. "Noemi!"

What if she ran into the enemy... alone? The very thought terrified him, and he started to run. Not looking where he was going, he ran straight into a mirror maze, and froze when he saw his own wide-eyed reflection staring back at him.
No, he had to calm down. Think rationally. Deep breaths. Just as he was about to turn around and head back out, a bright light blinded him, making him stumble. When his vision finally came back, he almost wish he lost it for just a bit longer.
As if reflecting his terror, the skin in his reflection began melting and peeling off. Jake touched his face in horror, feeling nothing but clamminess as sweat dripped down his face, but the reflection contuined displaying the GRUSOME visage. No, he couldn't worry about this right now. He had to find the girls.

She just wanted to find Jake or Sherry, she didn't want to find anymore bodies, she didn't want to see anything else that would scare her.
She didn't want to do this alone.
Like Jake, she ran herself right into the mirror maze, turning as she faced thousands of reflections of herself in all the small pieces of broken mirrors. She wasn't alone, she had gotten her wish.
The room blinded into white before coming back and she was staring at the reflections melting, skin dripping away from the bone. Her skin, dripping from her bone.
She didn't scream, she needed to calm down, but her hands found themselves to her face, to her arms, to her legs. She wasn't melting, it was a illusion. Oh god she couldn't...she couldn't. a soft sob escaped her.GrnGriff IS THE WORSE OH MY GOD LOL

"Noemi? Jake?" They'd gone...quiet. Sherry hoped she hadn't run out of range of hearing them. She hoped they had not met some horrible fate. Oh, please no. Sherry pushed those thoughts aside and continued moving. They were fine, they had to be. She'd find them and they'd go home and write a report and be done with this terror. It felt like someone pushed her. Stumbling, Sherry turned to see nothing, again. "Stop that," she said, teeth clenched. She remembered the body again and shuddered. Chills ran down her back and Sherry knew she was afraid. Then she stepped away, trying to watch everything at once. She was scared, worried, and tense. Got to keep it together. Have to find them. "Jake! Noemi! Where are you?" [A.V.] Ahaha. They just...run around and be scared. Nyxtsuki Moon Forever. Never leaving. LOL

It was probably safe to guess that it was the first one. Probably.
Though the images were disturbing, at least that was all they were. Images. Not strange mutilated shadows that would try attacking him. Sure, it was mimicking what he was doing, but they were reflections, after all. Doing his best to ignore them, Jake continued walking, when he heard a soft side. Weapons still summoned, he took a cautious step forward, trying to locate the source of the noise, when he saw Noemi. He let out a sigh of relief, and rushed over to her. "Noemi. You're not hurt, are you?" And then he looked around, a frown on his face. "We need to find Sherry. Let's get out of here.

"Th...The mirrors...and there was a body....two bodies...." She made a small whimpering sound, "The mirrors were melting and the bodies were moving, Wh...Why? Why is this so scary?"
She couldn't escape the images from the mirror, even as she left them with Jake. They followed them out and she tried to hold back the soft sobs that wanted to escape. It was so scary, ah, it was too scary.

And then she was out of the fog, and at the doorway to a building. "Jake? Noemi?" She didn't want to be too loud. You never knew what was listening. But maybe they'd gone inside. Maybe that's why she couldn't hear them. Sherry swallowed, stepping inside, hopeful. A few steps in, and she was glad to have a wall to put against her back. The open space of outside was terrifying. Of course, so was the image that greeted her a moment later. Her face, her hair, at least. And melting. Flesh melting, falling, peeling off her. She stared at her reflection in horror, hand going to her face. Nothing. Her face felt fine, but every where she turned she only saw melting. Horrifying images, the kind of stuff she had nightmares about. Sherry screamed.
