For a long while, Yrre sat on his bed in the early hours of the morning, grasping a little recipe in his hands. How he came across it was weird to think about, just randomly handed to him my an unknown face. Nothing useful, of course, just some snackfood for animals, but still, he was curious about it. But it seemed there was even less stuff in the kitchen than normal.. There was no way he was going to be able to go on and make this. No ingredients, and even more so no money for anything. Bae had been hitting the bottles alot more than normal, becoming paranoid, and locking everything away, so trying to sneak out things earlier in the day was nearly impossible..

But atleast he had a friend, right..? There weren't many, but he could think of one Dovaa that he actually trusted enough to talk to. Or atleast enough to bug. And his whole family was so well off, they wouldn't mind if he were to go and.. Maybe manipulate the guy long enough to fill his basket with things, ingredients.. Plus the big lug was always easy to trick. From what he could tell, he was all about food anyway.

He waited until day break, when the sounds of the sky stirred the city all around him. Bae was still asleep, so it was easy enough to sneak out, with both his basket, and the recipe in his hand. Oddly enough, the house hold was so quiet.. There was no one around.. And it was almost embarrassing how easily he snuck about the place, how many snores and yawns he could hear echoing about the halls. Yrre knew where Karayan's room was, and he headed right there, hearing more quiet that way than anyone else.

Upon reaching it, he just smiled, glad that the other was asleep so he could have this image of him in his head. Someone so big, so tough, was just lying here like anyone else, sprawled all over the place like a weird spider. Since he wasn't so offended by the big man anymore, he crawled over to the man, sitting on his his legs, on the bed, and gave him a good shake.

"Karayan! Wake up! I want to go shopping!" Maybe it wasn't the easiest way to put things, or the most polite, but.. It would wake him up!

The house was quiet, everyone in the family recovering from another of their rowdy gatherings. This time it was a celebration for one of Karayan's younger cousins who had just gotten his Great Dragon Orb which always seemed to be the favored reason for the family to throw a party. Sure, they would find any other reason for it as well, but the induction of a family member into one of the clans was still the best reason. Karayan could still recall all the fun that they'd had for his own initiation into the Gaili clan, a party that had lasted a good week and had the neighbors complaining on a couple occasions, not that Gram had cared. It was due to that reason alone that Karayan didn't even flinch of blink as Yrre came into the room. He didn't even really react when the other sat on him and set to shaking him, a bit used to having his cousins crawling all over him in a similar fashion. It was only the shaking that finally came through with the deeply sleeping Gaili.

A grunting sound came from Karayan before he was stretching out from head to toe, his new wings stretching out under him on the bed before they gave a bit of a flap. Coming to a little as he was given another shake Karayan's golden eyes slide open slowly up to stare up at Yrre a moment before they closed again, "It's too early, little fekarat, let's sleep more instead." He said, not even questioning why his friend had appeared so early in the morning. Instead of worrying about that he instead reached his hands up, waved them around a moment until he found the one he was looking for, and dragged his friend down for a hug. He wasn't sure what time it was exactly but he would bet anything that it was still morning which was far, far too early for him given that it was morning when he'd gone to sleep. Before the sun had started to rise, but still morning.

Once he had an arm around his little friend, as though trying to keep him from shaking him again, it didn't take but a moment before the Gaili was snoozing once more. If nothing else at least the big Gaili didn't snore, a bonus given that someone his size would likely make quite a bit of noise if they did snore.

Yrre was expecting some sort of resistance from all of this. He was a big guy, Kara was, and he had thought it would take some thing more than just shaking. But he had NOT expected to be grabbed and clung to like some plush toy! And the big ol' jerk still had the gall to call him an 'fekarat'! A small growl came from him, not that it did any good.. There was no way that he could break from the man's grip.

And maybe, just a little bit, he didn't mind laying here with him. It was warm and cozy, and he could relax instead of wondering if his crazy older brother would suddenly decide it was needed to do a room inspection. Shifting a bit, he made himself comfortable to nap with the older one, if only for a few minutes. He definitely didn't want to wake up after Karayan did. Hell, who knows what new nick name the weirdo would come up with..

Only an hour or so passed before Yrre woke himself up again, and he rolled his eyes to himself trying to wake up fully. He couldn't waste all day like this, he told himself, he had to get back to baking.. No baking meant no money, meant no food.. It wasn't as if he could come here EVERY time he was hungry.

"C'mon, Kara, wake up. I need to go shopping. If you wake up, maybe I'll bake you something too." That simply meant adding a little extra to the shopping basket he had held when they were out. If it wasn't going to be for a profit, why should he have to sacrifice some of his own resources?

"And the sooner we go, the sooner I can bake tonight." Baking during the daylight was much too dangerous. If his brother had caught him in the kitchen.. Well.. There was certainly a vast number of sharp objects that could be found in there..

"But it's so early..." Karayan muttered, forcing his eyes open. He'd hoped that when Yrre settled down that he might be able to get him to just nap for a while, at least into the afternoon so that he could sleep off last night's gathering. It wouldn't seem as though Yrre wasn't going to allow for such a thing though. Instead he was determined the second time to get him to come along shopping. He gave a grumble, sitting up a bit, and starred at the one that was sitting next to him, "Mmm... shopping, huh? What are we shopping for?" He asked as he rubbed the heels of his hands against his eyes, rubbing the sleep out of them. There was mention of baking, something that he rather like the sound of, he could go for some treats.

He gave another yawn before he asked, "Baking... tonight? It rather early... why not bake after shopping?" He asked in a curious manner, wondering idly why they were going out shopping so earlier if they were going to be baking much later. Why not sleep in? He wanted to go back to sleep... but he somehow doubted that Yrre would let him get back to sleep. Instead he would probably keep poking at him until he finally got up for real. Giving a bit of a yawn he scooted over to the edge of his big bed, swinging his legs over the side and got up, "Mmm, way too early." He said, stretching out all over again before he moved to his nightstand, picking up some of his jingling jewelry, putting it on first, before padding over to scoop some clothing up from where it was laying on the ground. He should probably clean more often if his friend was going to show up unannounced he thought to himself as he shook out one of his more comfortable robes, then put it on.

He then gave a little whistle, drawing Ember to him. She flew in from outside, landing on his head, and he lifted a hand to pat her on the head, "Such a pretty girl." He cooed at her before he padded over to his dresser he dug around through the top drawer, getting out a little pouch, tucking it into a pocket within the baggy robes he was wearing. Once he had some money on him he turned to his friend, "Hm, alright, I'm ready." He said to his younger friend, giving him a smile, "Want to find breakfast before we go?" He asked, still trying to wake himself up. If they were going out shopping for who knew how long they might want to get something to eat first, right?

When Karayan finally sat up, Yrre sat up as well, staring back at him and making a face. If he had been any other person, maybe he would have playfully hugged the other, maybe not minding a few more moments of sleep. Alas, he was not, and instead he gave Kara the stink eye until he finally got his butt out of bed and moving about. For an adult, Kara was so incredibly lazy. Then again, so was his whole house hold! There was something just a WEE bit endearing about it, but otherwise, no. He wouldn't stand for such laziness. Why should they be able to do so if he couldn't?

"Ingredients are fresher in the morning. We want the good stuff, because the good stuff tastes better, and the good stuff sells out early in the day. I don't want to get gross stuff, because that stuff sells like Uruu dung, not at all." Unless the dung was used for fertilizer, still, it was super nasty. "If you think this is early, you should have seen when I woke up. It was still dark out."

Even as irritated as he was at how slow the big man was going, he turned his head out of politeness, not wanting to see the other get dressed. Maybe he was some sort of weirdo who liked to sleep whichever which way, but Yrre still had some sort of modesty. And when he heard the weird little dragon, he whined, and looked back to him.

"Can't she stay at home? I'm sorry, I don't like animals.. I'd like it to just be you and me. And Breakfast could be nice. I haven't eaten much in the past few days."

Karayan gave a thoughtful sound, then nodded, "I see." He couldn't say that he had gone out this early to buy stuff before so he would have take Yrre's word on it. He seemed as though he were in the know about what was good and what was apparently as grows as Uruu dung. Given that he really didn't want anything made with that as an ingredient he supposed that getting out early was likely the best way to go about things. Giving a smile he told Yrre, "We were up until pretty recently you know, it wasn't like I was just lazing about for no reason. We were celebrating! My little cousin Lane picked his clan last night and became a part of it, it's always an exciting time and cause for a party! Well... a bigger party, we always find reasons for parties." He said with a laugh.

Turning to look at his friend when he mentioned Ember staying home he looked up at her, "Huh? Well... she goes everywhere with me, she's my friend too... I don't know about just leaving her. Don't worry though, I will keep her right here on my head." He assured Yrre, pointing at where the little fairy dragon was lounging, tail swishing, seeming as though she was more caught up in making herself comfortable then anything else at the moment.

"Come on, let's go see about finding breakfast. There is plenty of food left over from last night I'm sure." He said, stretching out all over as he led the way, padding barefoot out of the room, down the hall, and toward where the kitchen was located. All manner of things were sitting there, wrapped up, waiting for people to dig in again, "Hm, not exactly sure everything is. I'd just say start unwrapping things and take what you like." He suggested, opening up a few of the different mystery plates and bowls and set to eating out of them. There was various desserts, fruit both fresh and dried, along with all manner of other things on hand. The best thing about the parties they had was all the good food. It was no wonder Karayan had grown up so big given how much he ate.

Giving Yrre a smile he said, "If you want you can bring some home with you, there is so much that I doubt anyone would notice if a bit was missing." Nor would his Gram care if she knew that it was Yrre taking stuff home with him, she seemed to like the little guy well enough after all.

"Yeah, yeah.. You and your family's wasteful money habits.. But if it keeps you happy, then whatever." If he ever was able to choose his clan, it would be a sad and lonely day. Maybe he'd splurge and buy himself some dried meat to treat himself to as a congratulations, but.. No party, no staying up all night. Just a bit of alone time.. Yeah, That was all.

And it seemed like the worm with wings was coming, and Yrre held back a hiss, just glaring at her. He did not like sharing. Even if it was with some weird snake thing. But if she was important to Karayan.. He'd have to relax about it. Otherwise he wouldn't get himself what he wanted... And he wanted Karayan. To buy him stuff, that is.

"I'd rather her not be on your head. What if I get tired, and I want you to carry me?" His voice came off light and airy, kidding but he truly did mean it. He loved being in the big man's arms, being carried away and feeling so safe there. He was definitely a good man, even if he was annoying at times.

Yrre nodded and followed him out of the room, looking around at all the lazy people resting about. How did this family even make money with how they acted?! How could he deny all the rich.. Delicious smells though.. When was the last time he even HAD a good meal? As soon as the offer was made, Yrre began to go through everything, piling up as much as he could on his plate before waiting by the door. He could walk and eat, after all!

"I'm ready."

Karayan tilted his head to one side, looking a touch confused, before he gave a slight shrug. He wasn't sure about wasteful, they all worked hard enough for the money they had, but he supposed that Yrre wouldn't know that. He only knew what he saw, giving him a smile he said, "Well, just think of it as being your lucky day. Our wasteful habits have caused their to be quite an abundance of left over for you." He gave a little laugh as he picked up a few more things, grazing from the various plates. So many tasty things to eat, it almost made waking up so painfully early worth it. After a bit more eating he glanced over at his friend, giving a little laugh as he was told that he couldn't have Ember on his head just in case Yrre got tired and needed Karayan to carry him.

Giving a smile he said, "If you end up needing carried I will have her move. For now if she is on my head she will be far from you." That and it would keep Yrre from being scared since he didn't seem to like animals all that much. It really did worry him since he thought that they were all so sweet but poor Yrre hadn't had good luck with them, what with his poor had getting mangled by a more feral beast.

After eating a few more things, as well as watching Yrre gathering up a plate full of stuff. When the little Dovaa said that he was ready Karayan nodded, "Alright! Let's get a move on then." He said, falling into step alongside his little friend, letting him take the lead. He seemed to know where he wanted to go, what he wanted to get, and Kara felt that it was best to let him take the lead. Right before leaving the kitchen he grabbed up a few more things, a bunch of grapes and some apples, eating contently as he followed Yrre's lead.

"Right.." His 'right' was just a cover statement, and it came off as almost disappointed. But Karayan was right, either way. With him being so much taller than the little clanless boy, it was true that the worm-like dragon was way out of reach. Didn't mean he had to be happy about it, nonetheless. Instead of voicing his displeasure, he just leaned against a wall until Karayan finally decided to move on, and then led them right out of the house.

For the most part of their little walk to the market, Yrre was silent, looking around as if watching out for something. There was a better reason to why he wanted to get going early than just trying to get the best deals. Bae would have been up by now, making his rounds through the market himself. If he had somehow saw that Yrre was with someone like Karayan, someone covered in jewelry and came off as well dressed and fed, he'd start thinking that something weird was going on. That Yrre had finally stooped so low to working as an escort like some of the other people that lived even further down the slums than he did. There was no way he wanted to have to deal with that, so he keep an eye out for the tall man who looked too much like him.

So far so good, and soon enough they were at the stalls that Yrre was hoping for. The basket in his arms was just ready to be filled by all of the ingredients that were laid out by the merchants. Excitedly he turned to Karayan, pushing the basket into his arms for the bigger man to carry. If it got heavy, he'd rather not have to carry it himself.

"Alright, so this is how it's going to work. I'm going to put stuff in there, and then you'll take it to the merchant, and pay for it, okay?"

Karayan found himself looking around the market place with great interest as they walked along, taking in everything that was going on this early in the morning. It was a scene that he normally wouldn't see since he was rarely up this early but now that he was up he meant to make the most of it. He glanced at Yrre from time to time, taking in the way that he seemed to be searching for something, but figured he was looking for... well, whatever it was that they were buying today? He wondered what exactly it was that he was planning but he felt Yrre likely wouldn't tell him even if he asked. Glancing away from the various booths, and down at Yrre, he found himself being handed a basket, "Hrm?" Time to play the part of a pack animal it would seem, not that he minded much, raw strength was something he had in spades after all.

"Eh?" He blinked a couple times as the boy before him was suddenly informing him that Yrre was going to toss stuff into the basket and that Karayan was going to be paying for it all. He had a moment where he felt surprised... but figured that he could pay easily enough. He didn't want to make Yrre do so when he wasn't as well off as his family was, not to mention he couldn't very well go out there and fight dragons to get orbs that could be traded with the various merchants. Given Kara had far more ways to get his hands on some money, as such paying for stuff for was easy enough, "Load it up then with anything you're wanting." He said, seeming as though he were ready to follow Yrre's lead while doing all the heavy lifting.

If he saw anything interesting he would likely end up throwing it in the basket along with whatever Yrre was picking up since he was paying. Might as well get some stuff for himself as well, tasty stuff! Or shiny things. He was happy with both food and trinkets really, as such he was sure that it wouldn't take long at all for the basket to fill up between the two of them.

As soon as he received the okay, or maybe even a bit before then, Yrre began to load up the basket with everything he needed in order to bake his recipes. He wasn't going to be greedy about it, as much as he wanted to grab each and everything that he could use, he wasn't going to just be wasteful. Granted, he wasn't like some of the other people he knew who bought as much as they could and then let it all go to waste. No, instead, he only put what was needed for the recipe in his basket. Some blue eggs.. Remedial Fronds.. And some gold petalias..? Ew, this didn't sound tasty at all.. They were for animals though, if he read the recipe correctly. He was curious if he could feed one to Karayan. Not that he was a pet or anything! Mainly to see if the big guy would even notice.

It took only a few moments, the whole while he didn't say much, instead occasionally turning around and tugging on Karayan's wrist to pull him forward and a little bit closer, making sure he didn't get too distracted with what was going on. He also pushed in a few other things into the basket, bits of flower and a few other things. He'd also steal some fruit from Karayan's place. He wasn't COMPLETELY a user, he'd find a way to pay the giant man back. For now, he'd just have to wait a bit.

"Alright.. Kara, I think I'm good. Thank you."

The various, somewhat strange, ingredients that Yrre was gathering made Karayan wonder exactly what it was that he was planning on making. At first glance he couldn't really even fathom a guess but after a bit he was distracted with looking at the various booths that were walking around, adding a few things to the basket here and there, though was careful not to squish anything that Yrre was in need of for his cooking. He did his best to keep his own things to one side of the basket and those that Yrre wanted on the otherside... though he quickly realized that his own half the basket was filling up a lot faster then that of his small friend. Surely that wasn't all that he was getting, right? No, there must be more things that he wanted then just that handful of ingredients.

Even as he thought this though Yrre was suddenly announcing that he though he was good, meaning it really was all that he wanted. Karayan starred into the basket a moment before he said, "I really don't mind if you want to get more things. This doesn't really seem like much. There must be something else that you want?" They had come out early, when there were more things to be had, things that were fresher, as well as less people about as competition. Surely he must want something more then what little he'd gotten to this point?

Shifting the basket on his arm he reached out a free hand to ruffle Yrre's hair between the boy's horns and said, "Go on, I don't mind." He figured since he was treating Yrre to the shopping trip anyway that he might as well offer to get him whatever else he might need. After paying for what they'd gotten thus far Kara moved to another booth with various, pretty jewelry, and set to going through it, looking for anything that spoke to him as something he just had to have.

"I'm not greedy, I don't need much, really. I just wanted to bake this thing, and you can see the ingredients are weird.. I wouldn't be able to make them normally since our bakery doesn't really have such things like that laying around." It was really tempting though, to go through and buy up everything he had his eyes on. That new pan for sale over there was just so so tempting. SO very tempting, and he wouldn't have to worry about it being accidentally dirty the next morning. It would be his very own thing, something that he could call his own.. The first thing he ever received that belonged only to him.

No, he wasn't greedy. And he did say he just wanted a few things. Not alot, right? Was it not worth it to Karayan? Then again, he had already paid for everything, so if he wanted, it was good to go, right?

The ruffle of hair was almost, ALMOST taken as it was meant to be. As an affectionate gesture from his friend Karayan. Of course, Yrre would never allow that, and the split second he enjoyed the little ruffle, was over and he hissed a little, swatting away the offending hand.

"I said I'm done, okay? I don't need anything else!" He paused, relaxing his tense expression to try to smile at him just a bit. He did like Karayan.. And enjoyed being around the older man.. It really would be a shame if their time together was cut short.

"But.. You know I do like being.. I like hanging out with you, so we can keep shopping... Maybe if I find something else, I'll let you know, but I'm really good.. I'm sure you want to go back to sleep soon, right?"

Karayan gave the things in the basket a glance before giving a toothy grin and a chuckle, "I'd say their weird, nothing I've ever seen in cooking before. You much be making some sort of exotic dish, huh?" He didn't quite get what it was that he was trying to make but since it seemed to be important to him then he was only too happy to buy the stuff for him. Maybe it would turn out that the dish he was cooking was something magnificent, foreign, and delicious and, hopefully, he'd be willing to share whatever it was with him! At least that was what Karayan was hoping for at least as he continued to walk along, smiling a bit as he paused at some of the other booths.

It was as he was inspecting a necklace that he glanced over at Yrre and said, "It's not about 'needing' something, it's more about 'wanting' it which is a lot different. Surely there must be something that you want?" He was rather curious since the little fekarat was so hissy when it came to Kara trying to get close to him and be nice to him. He would demand things of him, even come to his place to wake him at absurd hours, and yet when it came to just lazing around he was a lot more prickly about things. He somehow doubted that he'd ever be able to get him to come to a party at his place when he wasn't injured and bleeding out... still, he'd do what he could to try to talk him into it.

Motioning to the man behind the booth he said, "I will take this necklace." He said, then looked over at Yrre, "How about you? Maybe a bracelet? An anklet? Something to decorate your horns with?" He asked of him, wondering if he would accept such a gift from him or if he'd instead bite him for it. Hard to tell with a feral little kitten like Yrre he thought to himself, feeling that trying to buy his friend a present could probably go either way.

"Something Exotic... Maybe.. If you want, you can try it when it's finished." Hehe, It seemed almost mean to want to have him try the animal cookies, but hey, if he agreed to it, who was he to actually go and say no? It might be even a bit hilarious of Karayan ended up LIKING the cookies too!

Now that he mentioned it.. He never had owned something that was purely for pleasure. All that he bought was used in some way, not for glitzy showy-offy purposes. The very idea of wasting money like that was so very strange that he frowned instantly at the thought of him buying something with his OWN money. But this was going to be a gift, right..? So maybe it wouldn't be that bad..

As Kara made his own purchases, Yrre went about the stalls as well, looking but never touching the glittering pieces of decoration for his horns. If his brother ever saw something like this in his possession, it would be confiscated and sold immediately, he just knew it. And a ring would be the same; too obvious, too right there. But.. Maybe..

"Hey, can I have this?" He pointed to a simple, thin chain that had white and gold links. It was a bit big, but he'd grow into it, right? For now it could hide safely under his shirt. And he could always use an emergency fund item.

"It's not too much, right? And I'd take care of it and won' t lose it, swear."
