Bells chimed softly as the pale colored lyra trotted the long distance it would be to reach home. Home, it had been a long time since she had seen it. Seen her Grandmother Miyu and Grandfather Yue. More then that, she did miss her sister Sora. Foolish Aryanna had been to go off and leave everyone behind without even a word. But she had been young, reckless and wild spirited. She wanted to slay something, to feel the blood pulsing through her ears! But this was for naught. Her slaying had ended her in a world of hurt. Her wounds had healed and left barely a scar, but her heart had been broken with the blade she deemed Demon Slayer. Yes, the broadsword she carried everywhere had shattered. Fragments smaller then the eye could see still littered the sight of her defeat, Aryanna had been lucky to get out of there alive to begin with. This she did count her blessings that someone was watching out for her.
Now, mind stuck in the past for a time, Aryanna drew herself closer towards home. The Moonlight Herd, her family. Not knowing that she would happen upon someone leave for their own adventure when her new one was just going to begin. With a new blade secured in a long scabbard under her wing, Morning Star she had named it. Aryanna was almost looking forward to her lessons in healing, when her heart was stuck on the aspect of killing. Fate had chosen her change, Aryanna was just reluctant to follow it.

Sora moved more quietly, but the cereus blooms adorning her still released their heavenly perfume, and the jeweled chains still clanked softly. She had the copper-gem-and-wood lunar-flower staff slung across her shoulders, steadied by her black wings, though it wobbled a good bit from Sora still not having sufficient strength to carry it around long distances all day for a few days straight.
Well. She hadn't been gone long, and still hadn't learned much of anything about magic. Except that her mother had healing magic, and Sora had no magic. However, she hadn't met any other Stars yet, so it was sort of difficult for her to have learned anything.
The sound of bells and smell of flowers wafted over her, and Sora moved quicker. Another Star? Had to be. A chance to learn magic, at last?
She came around the corner to see...her sister, Aryanna. With an unfamiliar sword at her side, and no sign of the old one. Not a new Star, but Sora hadn't seen her sister in ages. Not since the pale Lyra had gone off on her own adventures.
"Aryanna! Hi! Long time no see. Grandma and Grandpa will be glad to see you. How've you been?" she asked, cheerfully hurrying over, ignoring the ungainly movement of the staff across her shoulders.

Ears perked up as someone came around the corner from where she was heading from. Eyes blinked a couple of times to take in the star that came in her direction. The black wings were a dead give away to being her sister as well as those goggles that laid on her brow. It certainly had been a while since she had run into her sister, even longer for the rest of the family. To this thought, the lyra was ashamed a bit to know that she had caused suffering to those that she loved and who loved her. She had been reckless, very much so.
"Sora, long time no see. How have you been?" she asked as she moved closer to her sister to get a good look at the mare. She was certainly different, she had a glow about her. "I've been better," She turned her gaze away from Sora as if there was something that she wanted to hide from the world and most of all her sister.
"I am sure they will have some choice words for me when I come back to the herd lands. I have been gone for so long that I didn't think any one would remember that I was even here." In some ways, it might have been better, but that was no way to talk to family. Aryanna was finding that she was still a bit brash in places with her personality that it as most unbecoming of the new character she was starting.
"Anyways, this is my new blade, Morning Star." She was trying to avoid much conversation that was sure to come. Lifting her wing off the long slim scabbard that was tied to her side. The gold and jeweled hilt sparkled in the light. "The old one... Shattered..."

"Great, mostly." Sora could get to the bit about having no magic of her own later. "Grandpa gave me this staff," she said, shifting the cumbersome object around so her sister could see it better. "Grandpa and Grandma both miss you. I think they've been pretty lonely since you've been gone." Sora paused for a moment. "We still haven't found Kichiro and Asami yet."
Sora realized something about Aryanna. Aryanna seemed...smaller. Sadder. Less bright. Even with her brilliant new cloth and jewelry, and the fresh sprays of flowers hanging over her shoulders. Even the sword was strange. What had happened to her adventure-seeking sister?
"Morning Star," she said, tasting the name on her tongue. It seemed to fit Aryanna's new look. But it wasn't the Aryanna Sora remembered.
And Sora's heart went out to Aryanna, even as she stepped closer, and her midnight wings stretched out to wrap around her sister's shoulders. "That must've been terrible! What happened?"

Aryanna smiled at her sister as she mentioned that Grandpa Yue had given her a staff. It certainly fit her sister, she hadn't really been one for a sword like she had been. All those many moons ago when she had packed up at night and left without a trace. "Yea, I am sorry for just up and leaving all that time ago. But I suppose that is what happens when you're headstrong and hot blooded." She chuckled as things went to talking about their wayward siblings. One she hadn't seen in ages either was Asami. She just seemed to vanish just like she had, but hadn't returned home. As for their brother...
"I had run into Kichiro a while ago, while I was awaiting for Morning Star to be created. Seemed that he too was getting something made for himself." She paused a moment and frowned. Hoping that their brother would find his way home to at least see their grandparents. "When I saw him, he knew not of Grandpa Yue and Grandma Miyu."
Frowning again in thought she looked at Sora as the Lyra wrapped her wings around her after hearing that the old blade she had shattered. That was a painful day, one that felt like her own heart had been torn out of her chest and shattered across the ground. Shaking her head she smiled at her sister.
"Do you really want to hear what happened? Really, I would like to know how you and everyone here has been over the seasons. Haven't been home since I was a teen right out of foalhood." She wanted avoid telling the tale again, she had spoken of it with her brother when they found out who each other was. Somethings were just easier forgotten if left untold.
