The trip from Soudul to Ayr was a rather uneventful one, allowing Khaldera to just enjoy what lay between the two continents which was a nice, comfortable. She had rather missed the ocean while she was away from it during her training. She had been rather tempted to go home for a visit but decided that her short amount of time on land hadn't benefited her nearly enough when it came to getting strong enough to assume command. One had to be quite powerful to be able to lead the Deep Sea Clan given all the horrific things that lived in the deep waters. She'd gathered a few Ysali Orbs but it wasn't nearly enough, not for someone that wanted to lead. No, she would need to continue on with her journey and she would need to continue with her hunting, training, and become greater then the female who was currently leading the tribe.
Upon reaching Ayr she found a shadow passing over her, one that drew her gaze upwards, before she found herself starring at the dragons that were flying over head. It was then that she realized that she was going to have a bit of an issue with these dragons. They were such high flyers, meaning that she was going to have to focus and do this using her magic as opposed to just straight up hand to hand combat. She didn't mind so much, feeling that magic was yet another thing that she was going to have to practice with as well. Whatever it took she supposed as she started gather power to her. Darkness began to gather and churn before her, "Here we go then." She murmured before sending a blast of energy up at the nearest dragons... though much to her distaste the spell only flew between a pair of them, not really doing more then skimming them. Not exactly what she had been going for but most certainly effective in that the pair of dragons were suddenly looking down at her. Better that she got their attention then nothing at all she supposed.
Gnashing her many sharp teeth she starred up at the dragons, gathering more power to herself. She would need to continue to ping her spells at them if she was going to get them to come down to her. Just as she was preparing for the next attack she was suddenly hit with an attack the dragons made, a whirlwind that dragged her up into it and sent her flying. As she flew through the air she felt that it was probably the closest that she'd ever get to knowing what it was like to fly... and she was hitting the water, going under it once more, and was stuck trying to flail about to right herself. Not at all what she had expected but it was a lot better to hit the water then it was to hit the ground she supposed. She was pretty certain that had she hit the ground that she would probably have ended up a bit messed up. Instead she was able to right herself and surface once more.
Lifting her gaze to the sky she saw the manner in which the dragons were heading on their way, obviously thinking that they had defeated her so easily. No matter, let them think that, it would allow her another chance to get a good sneak attack in against them. She could tell already that the only way that she was going to be able to face them on even ground was to bring the wind dragons to the ground. Next time she got close enough to send a spell there way she would just have to see about aiming for the wings.

The fact that Khaldera was a water based creature, one that had no means of flight, and no way of really getting close to flying dragons, she found it to be a little slower then she liked to catch up with the Ayrala. She knew how she had to deal with them to a degree as well as knew how she could get them down to her level. The problem was that even knowing how to start the battle she also knew that she had to be far more careful now fighting against them because they were no longer near to the ocean. If they were to throw her again she would end up landing hard on the ground, not in the water. It would be nothing but painful... meaning that she was going to have to get the jump on the silvery colored dragons this time around.
By 'getting the jump on' the Ayrala she meant hitting them in the wings with her dark magic since it wasn't as though she would be jumping on any Ayrala any time soon. Not unless she was able to climb up one of the rocky outcroppings in the area so that she could jump down onto one that had landed. She considered the possibility of that thought and if it would be worth climbing... probably not and not only because she didn't think that she would be able to climb and sneak at the same time. Not to mention that the Ayrala seemed to stick to the sky, at least from what she'd seen of them so far since stepping food onto their island, meaning she wouldn't ever get the literal jump on them. Instead she would need to use her dark based magic against them, knock them out of the sky, take them apart when they were on the ground where she could her claws on them.
Hurrying along she looked up into the sky, eyes narrowing, teeth gnashing slightly, when she saw more of the Ayrala dragons over head. She couldn't say that she knew if they were the same ones from earlier. It could very well a different pair of them, but she really didn't care. So long as they were dragons, so long as they were going to give up their orbs when she killed them, she didn't care if they were the same ones that knocked her in the ocean earlier or not.
Claws digging into the ground Khaldera started to gather dark power to her, causing it to started to swirl about in front of her. She needed a lot of it, more then she'd gathered last time, to make sure that she actually hit the dragons this time around. She wasn't about to waste her time by letting the dragons get away, not again, not when she wanted their orbs. Running around like a fool though, that was something that she most certainly didn't want. Teeth clicking together she said, "I will have your orbs, dragons, don't think that I won't." With that she sent a blast of darkness toward the pair of dragons. She watched, breath held, as the spell raced forward toward the circling Ayrala, uncertain what might happen, worried that it was going to miss again... when suddenly it crashed into one of them.
The dragon gave a rather loud roar of surprise and pain before it started to flail about in the air, trying to keep up in the sky, but it was a struggle that didn't last long. A moment of struggle later and the dragon was falling toward the ground. Khaldera gave a pleased sound in her throat before hurrying forward, hoping to meet the creature when it landed so that she could take it on!

There was never a moment in Khaldera's life where she found herself more disappointed then she did the moment that the Ayrala she was going to get in a battle with hit the ground. She had been expecting, at best, that the creature would be a little woozy from hitting the ground. She'd expected that it would get up, shrug off the fall, and be prepared to battle against her to the death... but instead, as the dust cleared, there was nothing there but a bloody crater and a silvery dragon orb. The fall had killed the creature out right, likely breaking it's neck when it hit, leaving with her with a free orb but not battle to speak of. It was just... dull and not how she wanted to go about it at all.
The Merikora's tail lashed behind her as she started forward toward where the orb was currently laying. Once she reached it she sat down in front of the orb that seemed to glitter brightly in the sun light as though mocking her. Her glowing eyes narrowed before she hissed at it, "You're lucky that you're something I need or else I might just leave you laying there." It seemed as though it wasn't something that she had won fairly. Sure, she'd had a well placed shot with her magic that caused the creature to plummet to the ground but it just wasn't the same as fighting the dragon tooth and nail to earn the orb. Still, it was something she would need if she wanted to become Merkorian and she couldn't be picky when it came to the manner in which she gathered these orbs. Besides, there was still the chance of getting a better battle out of the other dragon that was still circling around overhead. She lifted her head up so that she could watch the second Ayrala that was up there, watching it for a long moment, before she gave another hissing sound. She'd deal with that one soon enough.
Reaching out she picked up the orb in one clawed forefoot, inspecting it closely, before she tossed the object over her shoulder, catching it with her tail. She'd keep hold of it there, not as though she needed her tail to be open when she wasn't swimming so it would provide her a good basket in which to carry her orbs. Turning her attention back to the second dragon she breathed in deep, gathering more of her magical energy to herself, then fired off a shot at the dragon. This time she was more careful with her aim, not wanting to kill the thing out right but instead just wanted to force it down to the ground. It really was a pain, having to deal with flying creatures when she was unable to reach them. She just had to be creative and careful was all! At least careful if she wanted to actually fight them and not just cause them to plummet to their unfortunate demises at least.
This time the magical burst of dark energy collided with the dragon's side both aggravating it and forcing it to come down to where Khaldera was eagerly awaiting it. She was going to get her battle she thought to herself as she got ready to face off with the Ayrala, not about to back down from such a creature! It would be difficult, one could tell just by looking at the big, silvery dragon, but she didn't mind. Better a challenging battle then a very disappointing and anticlimactic end if you asked her. Giving a roar Khaldera started forward, ready to meet the dragon the moment that it touched down.

Unlike the first dragon, which had been rather boring in the manner in which it had been defeated, the second one felt a lot different. The way that it moved, the look in its eyes, and its size all said that it was likely older and more experienced then the first one. It was something that pleased Khaldera to learn since she didn't want to face off against weak enemies. Where she was from, down deep in the ocean, only the strongest of creatures were able to lead so as to make sure the members Deep Sea Clan were not only able to survive but that they were able to raise young as well. It was a difficult sort of job but one that was rewarding when one saw new members of the clan hatch. Making sure that such a cycle continued, it was something that Khaldera would do, she would be the leader, no matter what.
This dragon before her, it was going to help her achieve that goal she thought to herself as she raced off to one side, tail lashing behind her, her sharp teeth clicking together. Lunging forward the Deep Sea Merkora drew in a deep breath, gathering dark, magical energy in her lungs and as she got closer she expelled it, letting it crash into the dragon's legs. It slammed into the dragon's legs, leaving a burn wound on its scales, which amused her to no end. Even more so when she saw the manner in which it limped toward her. The dragon's tail swept forward toward her, tripping her up a bit, sending her rolling before she was up on her feet again. Jumping up and down, a hiss escaping from her, before she went lunging forward toward the dragon once more.
The battle was one that was based on speed as far as Khaldera went, as well as some well placed magical blasts. As she went she was aiming carefully, going from the dragon's legs. She wanted to weaken it, make it so that it would be a lot easier for her to finish off. The dragon on the other hand was attacking with it's magic, sending blasts of twisting air at the Merkora, knocking her back time and again, weakening her just the same. The two of them were in a one on one, dangerous battle, one in which one of the was going to fall given the wounds that they were giving each other. It wasn't going to be something that both of them would walk away from, only one of them would.
Another snarl escaped from Khaladera as she drew in a breath, gathering the power to her, before sending another blast forward toward the dragon. Just as she did so the dragon did the same thing, sending forth a blast of magical air. The two spells crashed together, twisting together, and then exploded in between the two combatants, sending the both of them flying backwards in opposite directions. Both landed hard and were left struggling to get back up so that the battle could resume.

Khaldera gave a grumbling sound as she pushed herself up to her feet, shaking the cobwebs from her head, then turned her head to the side, spitting out a mouthful of blood, "Thrice damned dragon." She muttered to herself, finding that the sensation that came with the magical backlash was one she didn't appreciate. If anything it was annoying and made her body ache all over. She would have to end this battle as quickly as possible so that she didn't risk her pretty hide. The magic was bad enough, as was getting knocked around by the dragon's tail, but she wouldn't let it get its teeth or claws on her! Charging forward she gathered more magical energy to her, more this time, sending it racing toward the dragon so that it could crash into the dragon's head, knocking it senseless and caused it to stagger about in a way that would leave it open to a hand to hand attack!
Giving a great roar she charged, opening her mouth, and snapped her many sharp teeth down on the creature's throat, sinking them in deep, before she set to shaking her head from side to side. Her teeth, as long and sharp as they were, were effective tools when it came to finishing off enemies once they sank into soft flesh. What she'd learned thus far in her battles against dragons was that their throats and under belly scales were where they were the softest! It was the best place to bite, to claw, and to tear into so that one could finish them off. Much to her surprise, and a bit of delight, the dragon suddenly reared up on its back legs and set to flailing about in its attempt to knock the Merkora free of the one that had hold of it. Khaldera sank her teeth in deeper, as well as the claws of her fore feet, holding on as long as she could... before she was sent flying.
The Merkora flew a good distance, hit the ground, rolled a couple times, then dragged herself back up to her feet. Giving a snarling sound she prepared for the dragon to come at her again... but it wasn't something that she seemed to have to worry about. The dragon was flailing around, making weak gurgling sounds, and it was quite obvious that it wasn't going to be getting back into the battle. Instead it was more like an inevitable thing now, all Khaldera had to do was watch, wait, and soon enough she could claim her win. There was a part of her that wanted nothing ore then to get into the battle again, to finish it off, but she knew that it was foolish. Best that she didn't risk herself over that, instead feeling that she wanted to protect herself from that.
Instead she would stay back even if it was a difficult thing to force herself to do. She would rather be in the midst of the battle but she had to think about more then just her selfish desires. Once the dragon fell she trotted forward, scooping up the pair of Ayrala orbs that she'd won in the battle. She grinned down at them, tail swishing, before she headed on her way. Time to get a bit of rest, then she would see about going after a few more orbs.
