Sibbi~~
“Come on, Medina; for a fox, you sure can be a pokey thing, can’t you?” Sibbi hopped from foot to foot with thinly veiled impatience, her attitude more like an eager child than the grown mare she knew herself to be. But just because she was grown didn’t mean she was ready to leap into adulthood; as far as Sibbi was concerned, being an adult meant giving up on the dreams and wishes of childhood. In spite of her best efforts, Sibbi had yet to achieve her most cherished dream: to meet a water Soquili. Consequently, she was in no hurry to acknowledge herself an adult; not until she’d finally achieved that dream.
Well, that dream, and a few others.
Today, she was full of energy at the prospect of once again scoping out the beach scene; while she and Medina had trolled the coast on multiple occasions without success, she remained optimistic that this time would be different...if she could just get there!
She sighed again, pausing her hopping to stamp one hoof impatiently. “Medina!”
“
Coming, coming; sheesh, you’d think we’d never been to the beach before, the way you carry on.” Sibbi’s familiar, Medina the fox, came running at a brisk pace, her face set in a wry expression of tolerance. Though they’d been bonded since Medina was only a few days old, sometimes it was hard to accept the fact that Sibbi was the older. Even as a kit, Medina had been the practical one, the realistic one; she had supported Sibbi without hesitation, even while shaking her head at the craziness of some of Sibbi’s schemes.
And it didn’t help that Medina wasn’t a fan of water.
But if Sibbi was going to the beach, so to was Medina, and with a sigh of acceptance she leapt up onto Sibbi’s back and tucked herself into her dark neckerchief. “
Alright then, let’s go.”
“Finally; hold on tight!” With that, Sibbi kicked skyward, heading with rapid wingbeats south to the coast.
