The still large group of orphans had reached the outskirts of Neued and it would be their last pit stop before climbing up and into Tale. So close to the Oban border made everyone feel on edge, but despite that they were all relatively happy. It had been announced that all Shifter children would be left in Jauhar that morning before they left. Perhaps Aseara would have been a little sadder if she had made any connections with anyone in the group, but if food and room was going to be more abundant then she wanted them all gone.
The little wind girl had gone off into the woods again, climbing up on things and exploring the forest around them. She was just about to turn around when Aseara heard some rustling in the woods; she went after the noise and came face to face with some sort of warrior. She’d run right into him and he grabbed onto her before she could turn around to run away. “What do we have here.” He said out loud, grinning down at her. Aseara coward from him, eyes growing wide when she noticed the color of his skin. He was Oban and she’d run right into him.
“Why have you stopped Zakrel?” An annoyed feminine voice said. “I found a pretty little thing ma’am.” There was some rustling and two other warriors popped out before a woman appeared. There were no words to describe her, expensive and large amounts of fabric were woven into an impressive dress and her hair held gold objects interwoven in the intricate hairdo the woman sported. She looked down at Aseara and looked surprised. “You can release her Zakrel, she won’t do us any harm.” The man released her and the woman bent down to her eye level.
“Look at how pretty you are.” The woman was all darkness while Aseara was pale, even paler surrounded by these people. “Agni! Come see this pretty little one we’ve stumbled upon.” The woman put some strands of hair behind Aseara’s ear and smiled. “What is your name?” She didn’t want to tell them, they ought not to know. This distrust on her features must have been apparent because the woman chuckled. “Are you hungry? I bet you are hungry, you look like you haven’t eaten in days.” She shoo’d the guards away and asked one to return with some food.

Agni was mad, and so traveling really didn't help. She was still mad and hurt, and really hoped that she ran across something for her to kill. One of these strange creatures, or even a person. She wouldn't mind killing a person. That was how mad she was. She didn't get to kill during the battle, though she was told that her father did. He killed many of them, that was until he was taken down... No she would not think about this. Not now, not with so many people around her.
With a straight face she walked, looking around. This was one of the few times that she was not with Naevius, she allowed a few others to watch over her friend and mistress. There were only two others that she trusted to watch Naevius, so they were watching her today while Agni walked the lines trying to let go of anger. She didn't like for Naevius to see her when she was in such a state, so she tried to get rid of it before returning to her maiden.
She rolled her eyes when she heard her name being called. It was from one of the other women around, she wasn't someone whom Agni was very found of. Still, she said the word little, which made Agni curious. She moved towards the group and spotted the younger girl. Quickly she moved towards them, making it so that she was closest to Aseara. "Leave her be, I will see to it that she gets food." she all but growled. The woman laughed and put her hands up before turning and walking away. Agni didn't trust her, not with a child, even if the child was one of them.
"Come with me little girl." she said with a smile towards the little girl. She could only imagine how she looked to the wind girl. She was wind right? She was pretty sure that by her skin color she was from the wind tribe. But she wasn't sure, she didn't know much about them. Fruit was brought to her, and the males bowed before walking away. "Here, have this. Are you hungry? Thirsty? My name is Agni." she said with another smile. The good thing about being Naevius's hand maiden was that she had some power, meaning no one would bother her.

There was so much going on and so little she understood and now another woman was coming towards her and whisking her away to the side. At least this one promised food, but could she trust the food given to her by these people? Probably not, and at this point she’d rather starve than accept anything given to her by them. Aseara would take the food of course, appear polite and willing to work with them, but when she got the chance she would “lose” the food someplace. She couldn’t trust any of them, even if they saved her or tried to.
She didn’t really have a choice now it seemed, food was in front of her and the woman was offering her name and asking her all sorts of questions. At least though she hadn’t asked her name like the other woman had, which meant Aseara didn’t have to answer her. “I’m okay.” Was all she could say even though she was obviously skin and bones at this point from the lack of food back home. She focused on the girl and not the food, but her stomach grumbled loudly its protest to her actions and her hand went to her stomach. Hopefully the girl hadn’t heard.

She watched as the girl took it, telling her that she was okay. It wasn't much, but it was a start. The girl looked starved, and Agni thought she would scarf down the food when it was given to her, so why didn't she? A smile spread across Agni's face. Oh she was smart, she knew that Agni and the rest of them were Oban and she most likely thought them as bad people. "If you want you can give me a piece to eat, that way you know it's safe. I wouldn't eat something myself that wasn't safe, and that way you can eat the rest."
The girl needed to eat, this was clear by the noises that her stomach was making along with the younger girl's hand on her stomach. When had she last ate? Where were her parents? The Oban's didn't kidnap kids from their families. "Where are your parents?" she asked curiously. She would have some of the guards go looking for them, some of the safer of the guard. The fact that this girl was clearly starving was good, and bad. Good because that mean that her people were feeling the pain of hunger and would most likely be less able to fight, but bad because this poor girl was suffering. She was too little to be suffering so, and so very pretty. She made Agni's already dark skin look so much darker in comparison.

Even Aseara was forced to admit that the girls plan was a good one, if something was bad for her than something would be bad for Agni as well. With a final soft sigh her eyes lowered themselves to the food in front of her; she didn’t know what to start with. There was just so much of it and she just wanted to scarf the food down. But no she had to settle for bit by bit so she could give some to Agni as well. Her eyes roamed the prize in front of her until it settled on something that was light peach and she picked it up and gave a piece to Agni, watching her to see if the other would eat it.
“My parents…” How could Aseara explain that her parents had gone off to the war and she had no clue when they’d return? The Wind girl pulled her legs under her and sat Indian style. “My father went off into the war and my mother followed him. She left me with some people who took care of orphans.” Maybe she’d get the idea that this was probably not the best subject to speak about, so Aseara offered her something she rarely offered others. “I’m Aseara.” She said quietly, and finally took a bite of the fruit when Agni did.

When Aseara handed her the peach she bit a bite out of it. She didn't want to eat a lot of it, since it was the young girl who needed the food and not her, but it was enough of a bite that Aseara would know that the food was safe. She listened as the girl talked about her family, a frown deepening on her face.
Although she was all for this war, the Obans deserved to lead the other races and take over, she did not like the fact that it left other people parentless... "Yes, the same thing happened to me. My father left off in the war and didn't come back..." she felt something for this girl, a protectiveness of sense. However she knew that with them was no place for a little girl. There were people in their party that weren't staying... But was there any that she trusted...
She was so deep in thought that she almost didn't hear Aseara give up her name. It made her smile. "Well hello Aseara. Do you want us to take you back to those people?" she didn't think it was a good idea, but if that was what the girl wanted they would find a way. No need to tear the girl from another family.

Her stomach rumbled happily as she took more and more bits from the fruit. “Do you think they will ever come back?” Aseara didn’t think so. Perhaps her parents had left her because they had wanted to leave her behind. She was fine with that, by the time she made it back home anyway she’d have learned enough skills so that she could work and grow and move on. Who needed parents anyway right? Though Agni sure sounded sad about her own parents, but she was older than she was and Aseara knew her memories of her parents would one day fade away.
“That’d be nice…” then Aseara added quickly. “But you don’t have to or anything.” She did not want to owe these people anything, Agni had proven to be nice but what if she had anterior motives? Aseara finished her fruit and went to grab another one; she would at least enjoy herself while she was here. If they did bring her back without asking for anything in return than perhaps she’d stay just for a bit longer. Just a bit though, she didn’t want to over extend the welcome.
