While Zaine usually wasn't a big fan of foals, the three little fillies he had sired seemed to melt his heart and had made a home there. He loved those three little girls. He had decided today he wanted to spend some one on one time with Madison. She seemed so much like her mother in some ways but he also noticed that she took after him a lot, especially in her love to run.

He had invited her to come with him on a run to just get out and stretch their legs and have some fun. He also wanted to see how fast those little legs could go. So that day after breakfast, he and Madison snuck away from the other girls to a field where Zaine often liked to go and just run free. Here he could let all his cares go for at least a few moments. He could never outrun them, but at least for a short period of time, it felt like it.













Madison giggled with excited as she followed along behind her daddy. She was eager to see what it was that they were doing, because he had told her it was a super secret surprise. She always like spending time with her daddy all by herself. It was hard to get enough attention when the other girls were around as well.

"So daddy, what we gonna do today?" she asked sweetly, trying to keep up with his long strides. Her active imagination was telling her all sorts of crazy and fun things they might do, but she really didn't know. She was so eager to get where they were going so she could find out.

After a few more moments of walking, he was satisfied they had found the perfect place to play hide and seek. There were plenty of trees, bushes, and logs for her to hide behind. He didn't really notice anywhere that his larger form would be able to successfully hide, but that was alright. It was more about her having fun rather than him winning the game. Funnily enough, he used to despise losing....at anything. He was an all or nothing kind of guy. When he had children, all that changed. It was now all about them. Funny how parenthood can change a guy's perspective.

"Alright Maddie, I'm going to go close my eyes and count. You find somewhere to hide." he said with a laugh as he went turned around and started counting. With each count, he stamped his hoof. "Hurry now!" he called.













She squealed with delight as she took off, searching for somewhere to hide. She was so happy that her daddy wanted to play her favorite game.

His count was already halfway there and she hadn't found anywhere to hide. "Oh! Those trees over there...no, too easy. EEee! Maybe that rock? Nah, too small. Ooo maybe I can get behind that log and lay down?" she thought. She raced over the log, and ducked down behind it, settling onto her knees. She raised her head up to look and see where her daddy was. He was still counting. She giggled and ducked down again to wait.

His ears picked up her giggle and he called out, "I can hear you Madi! I'm coming to find you!" He stomped around loudly and then jumped around the other side of the log. "Found you!"









She squealed loudly as he jumped around the log and startled her. "Daddy!" Her squeal turned to a giggle as she jumped up and down with happiness. "You found me!"









He nuzzled against her. "You hid very well, Madison. Now, ready for the surprise?" He was eager to show her the special place he had found and he knew she would love it as well. "We have to walk a little further, but it'll be worth it. Come on!"









"You found me so fast daddy," she replied. "You're really good at hide and seek. I hope I can get to be that good." She was excited for the surprise. "OOooo I can't wait!" she said as she followed after him.









They walked a few hundred yards further into the trees. Zaine could hear water nearby, which meant they were close. As they stepped through the underbrush, it opened up to a creek and a small waterfall. "Here we are," he said, as they stepped out and into the open. "I found this place a few days ago. The water is magnificent. Go ahead Madi, go for a swim." He said, watching her.








Her eyes lit up with excitement as she saw what the surprise was. "A waterfall!" she elated and ran headlong into the water. It wasn't very deep here so the water only came to her shoulders. She could stand easily without worrying about falling. She made her way over to the waterfall and stood under it. "The water is really nice, daddy. This is amazing!"








He watched her as she enjoyed the surprise. "I'm glad you like the surprise Madi. Next time, we'll have to bring your sisters here so they can enjoy it as well." He joined her in the water and under the falls. "The water does feel really good." He stood under the falls, letting the water wash over his head and back.

They played in the water for a while until they were both tired. After a while Zaine asked if she was ready to go back home. Sleepily she agreed and they made their way back as the sun was setting.
