Eyphah had enjoyed the trip home, even if it had to be a quick one. He just had far to much to do to be able to just lazy about. He wanted to keep his clan safe so he had to keep on the move, keep hitting the Mara as they patrolled, and make sure to gather as many of their heads as possible. The first thing he did was drop off the heads from his last hunt into the growing pile, then stood there a moment just to take in his work. Such amazing work, too. After enjoying the sight of his hard work he was on the move again. From there he'd checked in with his mother, letting her know how things were going, where the Mara were at he moment, and so on. He then went to talked with Tallulah for a little bit, making sure he was doing alright and got a quick healing session from him. A quick peek in on the two-leg whelp, to make sure he was doing alright and he then finished up the visit with a quick snack and drink.
Once all of that that he headed out once more, with so many Mara milling about he couldn't really just stand still now could he? Currently he was again flying far over head, keeping his eyes open for anymore in the way of Mara. He had taken out a good number of them, sure, but it wasn't nearly as many as he wanted. He wanted to kill all of them... though he was sure that given the bounty that was out on them that anyone out there might very well be killing them at the moment. It was a waste he felt, all those Mara that weren't getting killed by his claws but at least it was getting done. Better a Mara get killed by a random two-legs instead of it getting too close to where his clan was hiding out. He had to remind himself that their safety was what mattered most, far beyond that of his own desire to wipe out the Mara all by himself. He had to think about the Mara threat in a strategic manner... even if that was the most boring way of thinking.
Flying up in the air he might have missed the group of Mara down below were it not for the fact that some of the group seemed to be... glittering? It was a strange sight and one that caused him to do set to circling, getting a better look at the Mara down below. After a moment he realized that this group was made of of three new types of Mara. Not only that but they were inspecting the scene of one of his battles against other Mara, making him grin a bit. Oh, well, well. Were they sending out their more advanced troops now that they noticed he had made a mess of their little peons? It was something he found to be quite amusing actually. Knowing that he had been able to cause the Mara to react in such a manner.
Even if such a thing wasn't so he really didn't care, his ego told him that he was the cause of these new Mara arriving and he would revel in that fact. He would like to think that it was all him but for the moment instead of worrying about that he would have to figure out how to deal with these new Mara. Let's see... he would bet anything that those sparkling ones among them were the toughest, they just looked it, the way that they were gleaming like that, as though they were flaunting the fact that they were strong. They wanted to be seen unlike weaker creatures that would try to blend in with their surroundings. It was something that he could appreciate, so he would have to deal with the two minions that were following the glittering trio he decided.
One of them looked like a darker version of those annoying Mage Mara, meaning more magic, the other one seemed to be something all its own, and he decided that would be the one that he went after first. Might as well get rid of it first, then he would deal with the Dark Mage Mara, and finally those trio of glittering show offs. With that plan in mind the Diabi went into a dive, buzzing over the top of the Mara that seemed to be distracted by their inspection of the battlefield, one that was mostly buried in sand given how quick Eowyn was to swallow stuff up and claim it. He was glad for them being distracted, it made it easier for him to snag the Crafter Mara in his claws, dragging it up into the air, before he set to work taking it apart with the claws on his back feet as well as the scythe on his tail. It didn't take too much longer to take it apart though he could tell just by the feel of the material this one was made of that it was tougher.
He dropped the remains of the new Mara, save for it's head which he kept hold of, and grinned down at the Mara who now had their full attention on him. The old battlefield would soon be replaced with a new one he thought to himself delightedly as he went down to engage the next of the Mara. As he got close there was a sudden rush of earth that lifted to met him, trying to block his attack and he was forced to pull back, giving a rapid flap of his wings to keep from crashing into it. Instead he landed on the solid wall of earth, glaring at it then walked across the top of it so that he could look over the other edge... then jerked his head back when a blast of magic that they had been preparing, "Eesh, someone isn't in a good mood." He muttered to himself, certain that he had likely deserved that. Silly creatures, thinking that their pathetic magic would defeat him.
Leaning over again he got a look at where they were all positioned, pulled back again during their attack, and once the magic blast tapered off he lashed his tail into the mix, impaling the Dark Mage Mara with his scythe, dragging it onto the top of the earthen wall with him and set to tearing it apart as quickly as possible. He couldn't waste too much time on them when he still had so many under the 'protective' wall to deal with. He'd just barely had time to tear this one apart before the wall crumbled under him, forcing him to retreat a bit. Once the wall had crumbled and the sand had cleared it was him versus the trio of spiky, glittery Diamond Mara.
His tail set to lashing behind him and he barred his teeth, "I don't fear you, no matter how tough you make yourself out to be." He snarled, tail snapping forward... though much to his surprise it just bounced off the Diamond Mara's chest. He pulled his tail back, giving a little hiss of pain from the sensation left behind in it after hitting something so hard, "Mmm, need to think on this one." They were too tough to just break with his own strength he thought to himself, he needed something that was strong enough to break them... what what could break something that solid? He glanced between the trio, then his glowing eyes seemed to suddenly alight, "Ohhhhh, I see." He was quick to lunge, grabbing hold of the arm of one of the three Diamond Mara, swinging the creature bodily into one of the other ones... and much to his delight cracks appeared upon both of them. Just as he'd though, they were really tough but still had a weakness against themselves. Had he not used one Mara to beat another Mara to death in the past he probably wouldn't even have thought of it. It was just lucky he was so resourceful.
The battle continued on, with Eyphah using the Diamond Mara against each other, literally, and once they had all been dealt with he was only too happy to gathering some diamonds for himself along with all of the heads that the battle had netted him. He'd put them somewhere safe and then continue on. Now that he knew there were new Mara out there to deal with he was only to happy to keep going with his hunt. The more the merrier, he was getting quite the mountain of heads collected, enough so that he bet he would impress those that he was supposed to turn them in to. He just couldn't wait for that, to see the looks on their faces when he gave them such a mountain of souls. Just the thought of it had the Diabi chuckling to himself as he headed on his way, finding a good place to tuck the five heads away in before taking to the sky once more. There was just no way that the day could get better... well, unless he found another group of these new Mara just begging to kill them. He supposed he'd see soon enough.
