The weekend nearing made no difference- night and day differed only in what was thought about. They were always working hours, hunting and seeking. The rush hour(s) were well passed, counted out by hour according to one of the sizable steeples for a metropolitan House of God. There were 8 clarion rings, and the sky was still only silvery, thinking of dusk and sunset and the hour to come. The parks still had semester liberated students and a few parents with surrogate children out for walks. Running the perpendicular, skirting the edge to feel the auras through the whole, Thraen could feel no Chaos near. As he and Faust neared the Northern-most edge, he felt a candle in the dim. There was a senshi nearby the park or in it. Far enough they may not yet have noticed him with their more limited senses. "There's a Scout that we could chat with. " It was all that needed to be offered by way of explanation in the change of plans and course from buzzing the next park lands. Instead, Thraen ran then nearer the Senshi's auric energy, looking for the source. Like Cybele, she may be experienced or not, need help or not. But it is best to check. The nightmares every sleep sap our reserves of strength, and she is unwisely out alone. It would at least give us both another contact. "As you know our names and magic formula on meeting us, can Mauvian tell a signature from any distance as a specific person?" Tactical information sought from Faust was as good an dual expenditure while looking for the senshi as any other.

Megrez enjoyed coming to this park; it seemed that someone or something always came here when it got dark. If it wasn't the alleyways, it was this park. Sometimes it'd be a stray youma, sometimes a lieutenant, other times a senshi. She hadn't found anyone yet, though for a brief, fuzzy moment, she thought she felt something approaching. Unfortunately, as a basic senshi, her aura-sensing skills weren't that great, so she couldn't quite tell who or what it was. She did, however, walk for a bit in the direction she thought she felt the thing coming in. If nothing showed up in a few minutes, she'd just keep wandering about. Or maybe she'd go elsewhere. She tended to patrol in an arbitrary sort of fashion, floating from landmark to landmark throughout the night.

Faust considered the eve perfect for a nap - not yet nightfall, so fewer of the enemy skulked about indulging their own enmity. And while perched atop Thraen's shoulder, he closed his eyes but briefly while they remained still, and only a moment it was before the eternal shifted to movement, direction, destination - near the park, based on their generous view.
Faust grunted at the question solicited by his companion. "No, don't quite work like that. Y'all feel the goddamn same from afar, no way to tell who from who 'cept by senshi level, and that's that. Name and magic come from when you're dormant, not after. But, I can look someone up at the Headquarters, probably. Can't remember..." The cat continued muttering until his gruff tone finally devolved into a series of feline grunts and trills.
The Mauvian fell silent once the pair entered the park, where few children still played on monkey bars, swing sets. Their parents already voiced their intention to leave, as they urged their kids to forego play for safer venues, where youma lurked only at their hungriest hour. And with complacency they went, likely lulled by promises of sweets and treats for proper acceptance. And once Thraen drew closer, Faust leapt from his shoulder and bounded toward the signature at a veritable sprint, darting through the large triangular gaps in a dome climber before he neared the basic senshi's location.
And on discovery of the redhead, sporting a curious scar across her nose and egg motifs that even the blind could recognize, he realized he never met her previously.
"Yo," he started as he took a seat in the soft grass. Measures to avoid eating it demanded conscious effort. "I'm Faust. That's Thraen," he offered with a nod in the eternal's direction. "Wanna go kick some Chaos a**?"
And soon after opening his mouth, he realized he lacked all concept of small talk.

It had been an assumption that he senshi was 'she', but the confirmation was still a surprise. It was a scout, and She was someone they'd neither met before. At least Faust's reply enlightened that greetings were just doomed to remaining the old fashioned sort. Or, as old fashioned as Faust could manage. The Mauvian's charm was forever its own amusement and brand. Hopefully being massive and fluffy would gain him some leeway. Thraen slowed to a walk to come up alongside the cat that had already given both their names, adding, " I'd lift him up and offer him to you, but he's a lot bigger than a kitten to fit in the 'It's dangerous to go alone, take this' meme. " "It's good to make your acquaintance, sailor...?"

When the oncoming "somethings" (or rather, someones) finally made themselves known, Megrez couldn't help but smile. It had been some time since she had seen a talking cat, and this one... well, he certainly had personality. "I'm always up for kicking some Chaos a**," she replied to Faust. His words were really something of a surprise to her; she didn't know that any cats held the same position on "kicking a**" as she and some others did. When Thraen spoke, Megrez introduced herself. "I'm Sailor Megrez, Senshi of Eggs." The comment about the meme made her chuckle, but then she went right to business. "So you're Thraen, huh? I've heard about you. A senshi named Cybele gave me your name. I've been hoping that I'd meet you sometime."

The cat bristled at mention of picking him up for an offering. "Ain't no damn way you're touchin' this fine-a** fur if I've got somethin' to do with it, Blondie! ... He's got a point, though. What'chu doin' out here on your own?" It's probably all she can do. From what Thraen explained, the White Moon don't got its s**t together. Who the hell looks out for these kiddos?
Faust grunted lowly as he looked up toward his blonde comrade. "Word gets 'round 'bout you, huh?" The Mauvian sat on his haunches, looking back toward the senshi newly identified as Megrez of Eggs. Odd sphere. "'Least she's up for purging some Chaos. Can't beat that." Afterward the feline readied himself before bounding the great height to Thraen's shoulder. A touch of claws sunk into his fuku to hoist himself the rest of the way.
From his new vantage point, Faust looked down on the budding senshi. "You gonna tell 'er 'bout Black Watch, or you got somethin' else in mind before we go beatin' some asses into the ground?"

"Megrez" "I suppose it does." he replied to Faust's comment on his apparent 'fame'. Or whatever it was. One person looking for him wasn't much to go off of. " I remember Cybele. " 'Hoping to' is a unusually positive tone. Cybele spoke well of me? Our meeting was not ill, but not the best. "If you were hoping to find me, was there something specific you needed? Cybele scanned me into her phone, she could have messaged me to set up a meeting. We can scan each other now to be able to contact each other in the future more easily." "Have you learned phone scanning and looked at the Primer? " The Mauvian's leap and brief claws didn't change the stoic visage, nor cause flinch along his muscles. "The Black Watch is a support net I'm trying to establish among all senshi and knights- money and shelter to those who need it, regular patrols together to meet others while looking for new senshi, scheduled archeology to Homeworlds and Wonders, research and development, open communications and direction of recruitment between teams for those looking, and charity to those who need shelter, funds or help. Any and all are welcome at the meeting to discuss its establishing. There will be ferry points with Scouts and Mauvians waiting to take people to the Moon Ruin as well as handing out the pearl charms that allow senshi to do so on their own. July 12th is the target date, there will be an announcement of time and the ferry locations over the phones to senshi. Knights have to be told word of mouth."

Megrez giggled at Faust's little objection and replied, "I'm patrolling. I mostly do youma cleanup and picking on the occasional lieutenant... but normally when I go hunting for lieutenants I find someone to join me." After Thraen mentioned phone scanning and the Primer, Megrez nodded. "Yep, I have. I've got a few people scanned already... Gunn, Penthesilea, Astarte, a few others, I think... and I read the primer, both the first version and the update. I guess I could use a refresher though." She paused for a moment, then added, "I forgot to ask her to set up a meeting. I guess... it wasn't something specific I needed so much as I was curious about something." When she heard the details of Cybele's meeting with Thraen, she was certainly curious to meet another senshi who held the same position on the Negaverse that she and certain others she had met did: that it needed to be taken down, even if only bit by bit for now. She wanted to know his stances on certain topics and basically get a feel for just who he was. Then Thraen described the Black Watch and the meeting on the moon, and Megrez had a question. "That sounds very ambitious. I hope you can pull it off. But what is the Moon Ruin? This is the first I've heard of it."

"It's a ruin on the Moon," Faust offered, wholly unaware that his response might've been empty or offensive. "Sounds like a dump to me, but I never been there. Got no reason to visit." The feline found little benefit in moonlighting with some old rubble anyway. Besides, the fight lay on Earth, and every second spent dawdling on the Moon amounted to a second wasted.
She's also met a damn lot more people than you. I gotta lay off the grass and get crackin'.
"Well kid, spit it out." The Mauvian attempted to swish his tail, and found very little mobility. Outwardly, observers saw a twitch and a wriggle, but nothing substantial. "If you got questions, we got answers. Even if some o' those answers might be 'I don't know'." Either way, he didn't mind a little curiosity. All the standing around had its dull points, but those lulls allowed him to recharge his batteries for the next fight.
Tunneling between Thraen's endless hair and the nape of his neck, the Mauvian emerged on the other side covered in blonde. A thorough shake dislodged the invasive strands and he turned to sit once more. "Sounds like you're doin' pretty good so far. Got yourself a partner, or do you fly solo?"

Some of the names he knew personally, others having seen from afar or at least heard of. Gunn was the one who ran the training camps with that girl with the clipboard. With names like Penthesilea's and Cybele's he had an idea where some of the conversation might lead. Possibly with a more positive outcome for once? The question so specifically on the Moon Ruin was strange, especially directly after attestation that she'd read the primer and its update. I know some of what I submitted to Kallichore addressed some of that in Space Travel ...I suppose it would take implicit reasoning to make the leap between- there was nothing specifically about the ruin under the Moon heading other than the whens and hows, the Dead Queen's Ghost. He gave a short addendum to Faust's more obvious reiteration of the question in answer form. " The ruling power of the Silver Millennium a thousand years ago, the Court whose center was here in the Sol system ruled over by the monarchs of the Earth Moon (Luna)- the city-state and castle still exist in ruined form on the moon. It is the reason to go, other than it being a sanctuary from Chaos. " It was an assumption on his part that the whole was a city-state, and not a capital preserved where other settlements and towns around the whole surface of the moon weren't. But it was enough to give initial understanding- the difference only mattered currently insofar as the availability of archeological sites. "As Faust says, and you yourself, you had a specific curiosity for wanting to see me?"

Right after Thraen explained what the Moon Ruin was, Megrez felt a little stupid. "Oh, yeah. I remember seeing something on it in the Primer now. Sorry, just forgot." Dang, did she need that refresher. Her reply to Faust's question was, "No consistent partners yet. I generally join up with whoever I meet along the way. Lots of senshi gravitate towards the parks for some reason." Thraen's turn was next. "As for you..." She steepled her fingers for a moment, trying to find a way to word her questions. "Um... from what I've heard from Cybele, it sounded like you talked to her about killing Negaverse agents and about the White Moon refusing to kill. Is that right? And, um, have you killed at all? I'm guessing so, but I just want to know." It was kind of a weird subject to broach, so she was a little nervous about doing so. She had an idea of where she wanted to go next (that she had killed, that she wanted to know his stances), but whether or not she'd actually go through with them depended on Thraen's reaction.

Faust's eyes narrowed toward the girl. Why's she all up on death right now? Kinda weirdly obsessive... Like she's all out to murder some sons o' bitches for fun or some s**t. That ain't a healthy mindset for this war. s**t just got weird.
Instead Faust scampered toward a thick patch of grass, finding a measure of comfort in lying on it while the pair discussed murder. He didn't particularly care for the conversation, so he contented himself with tuning them out while he watched for bugs crawling through the grass.

"Ah." The sound was succinct from his throat. Specifically asking if he had killed at all was a strange way of going about the more pertinent information that went behind it. Whether someone killed sometimes was a fluke of circumstance less than it was of personal belief. It was the belief, the intent, and the conviction that mattered. The physical act was just fruit of the root. "There have been multiple instances where I would have executed an officer, and have been prevented from doing so both by threat of magic and by actively being cast on by fellow senshi. Eternal Athene and Princess Iris being of those. At the time I was only a super senshi, and could not have much gainsay for strength to enact my own will. " "Penthesilea, likewise, when first we hunted together would not end the life of the Feathered Corrupted. She seemed less hesitant more recently." Thraen watched the nervous mouth and eager eyes searching him for reaction. His visage remained as impassive as a graveyard statue. "Many of the White Moon Court condone no killing whatsoever. Cybele, so far as seemed, countenanced it while still associating to the court. I do not claim, nor want, affiliation as a part of the White Moon Court. I will help those who do if they need it. I will kill enemies as executions." "Ware meant to stand for Order. The difference between murder and execution is blurred, and very fine, but important, else we truly are no different and no less vile than those we claim to stand against. But If we are to protect lives, we must act for the protection of others- who will not censor themselves, taking toll on life after life, must be stopped. With no exile currently possible to preserve them outside the society they wound, their own life is forfeit. " "You have killed?" Why else be so interested and circumspect. Unless specifically thinking about it for some petty vengeance.

Megrez was a bit overwhelmed by the response. It was something in the way Thraen carried himself, perhaps, or maybe in his wording. When she opened her mouth, nothing came out at first, but after a moment she was able to speak. "Penthesilea is... much less hesitant now, I'd say." She decided to leave out that one of the final things the Senshi of War did in their first meeting was kill a lieutenant right in front of her. "I don't understand... you say you're not part of the White Moon Court, but... you're a White Moon Senshi, aren't you? You're obviously not corrupted." She was clearly missing something big here, and she hoped she wouldn't be reproached for not knowing. "Yes... that sounds about right," Megrez said when Thraen talked about the executions. She swallowed nervously. "We have to... do our best to contain people who are real dangers. I... If someone was doing nothing and just happened to be part of the Negaverse, I probably wouldn't kill them." And yet, she had done just that. That lieutenant had not demonstrated any real threat aside from his trollish nature. For all she knew, he was not slated for a promotion and would never do anything to merit one. She had killed him just because she had been "taught" that prevention was the best measure. In response to Thraen's last question, she looked down slightly and began to play with the edges of her gloves. All of her nervous habits were coming to light now. "Um... yes. I have killed. It was during the event in the warehouse. The one where the warehouse got set on fire from the inside. Not the hostage situation." The specifications were necessary, given that a certain other senshi had set the building involved in the hostage situation on fire.

Through the duration of their dialogue, Faust grew increasingly testy. Why we gotta stand around like dopes and talk about killin' when we could go out there and do some goddamn killin'? "Yeah, Thraen, why's that? Your planet must've been part of the court forever ago."
It was about the only part of the conversation he found interesting.
Sounds like she ain't doin' so grand with the concept of killin'. Maybe if she didn't ruminate so damn much on it... "If they's part of the Negaverse and they ain't tryin' to help the cause, then they hurtin' it down the road. A harmless lieutenant now might turn into some goddamn a*****e general later on. Can't always write 'em off as harmless if they're part of Chaos." Maybe she wasn't ready for that course of action yet, but Faust intended to guide her there if she wanted to pursue that path. Many a senshi supported purification from what he gathered - a nonviolent method of corrective action - and he found it useful to a point. However, for those unwilling to change... What good was trying to talk them out of it?
"Warehouse incident? What warehouse incident?" Faust looked to Thraen initially for answers, and swapped his attention between the two in quick repetitions in trying to pick the more knowledgeable one for the explanation.
Both seemed entirely plausible. Faust huffed.
