Alex jolted awake, and for a moment he didn't even register that he had been curled up against a very warm, very alive Luka, because he had jerked his way up and out of his boyfriend's arms. For that long moment, he was convinced that he was alone in bed, that the dream he'd had was a memory - until he desperately reached over and actually felt Luka next to him.
He could have cried with relief, but instead he collapsed back onto the bed.

Luka grunted as the giant been bag chair like bed shifted. Tugging the blankets further around him he cracked an eye open to tiredly stare at the form beside him. "Al'x?" He murmured, completely butchering the others name. " 's the matter?"

Alex buried his face in Luka's chest, making tiny noises that were a mix of joy and sobbing. "H-had a nightmare, that's all," he said, and that really didn't cover what had happened, but he didn't care. Luka was alive, which meant it wasn't true.

Luka pulled his arm free, wrapping both it and the blanket around Alex as he shifted closer. "Musta been pretty bad..." He yawned. "If it's got you this riled up... Hell, Alex was pretty much hiding in his shirt. "What happened in it??"

Alex exhaled. The broad strokes would be okay, right? "I was...in the city, except it was dead silent, and there was this weird...column of darkness. So I walked around, and I started...finding people. People I knew. Vanya, Gemma, my sisters - you." His voice was soft. "Cait. Everyone I cared about was dead."

"No one's dead..." Luka murmured. "It's okay." The older man began to rub at Alex's back, nuzzling his face into his boyfriend's blue hair. "You're fine, everyone's fine. Your sisters, Vanya, Gemma. Me. We're all fine."

"I know, I know it was just a dream, but..." How could he explain the clinging, lingering chills? The feeling that this was more than a dream, that he was seeing something almost prophetic? He certainly couldn't explain that without explaining why a prophetic dream seemed perfectly rational. "I'm glad you're here, I don't know what I would've done if I woke up alone."

Luka stared at Alex lazily for a moment before tightening his grip around the shorter boy. "C'mere.." He mumbled, as he rolled on to his back, dragging Alex on top of him. "You would have been up all night panicking or drinking all of Lila's alcohol."

Alex whined. "Alright, yeah, that's...probably true. Or I would've called you at two in the morning," to make sure Luka was alive and that one of the few people he cared about wasn't totally gone, ripped away from him with no explanation or reason.
"I love you so much," he said, totally impromptu, because nagging in the back of his mind was the knowledge that while it might not be Luka who died on him, there was a chance that the next time he ran into an angry Eternal, Avalon wouldn't be there to save him.

"Assuming I would have heard it." He would have. ...Maybe. Alex had a different ringtone for a reason... Besides, forget calling, knowing Alex, he would have climbed through a window to get in the house. Damn kid kept loosing his keys... "I love you too." Luka said as he ran his hand through Alex's hair for a few moments before settling it around the teens shoulders. "It's just a dream..."

Alex laughed faintly, but really, he didn't know what he would have done if he'd called and there had been no answer. Probably broken in through the window. "I know it's just a dream, but...it didn't feel like just a dream." It still felt real, and it made reality seem fragile.
"I should...get up and make some warm milk, or something, so I can go back to sleep," he said, a little noncommittally. He did not want to move unless he absolutely had to. "Sorry for waking you up with my silly nightmare bullshit, it was childish."

"Dreams can feel like that sometimes..." The greenette yawned, rubbing the back of Alex's neck. "Don't move. Just lay there and listen." He said as his hand moved, pressing Alex's head against his chest lightly. "It's fine."

The blunet blinked, slowly, until he realized what Luka was doing. With his head where it was, he could hear the sounds of breathing and heartbeat - sounds that meant Luka was alive, in a way not even he could deny in the depths of his worst nightmares.
"I can do that," he said, letting his eyes close. "Thanks."
