"your being to rough!" Croaked out Brittleback, complaining at the apprentice that was helping him bathe. He would complain about almost anything. The poor apprentice, having to share tongues with his musty smelling pelt. "arg! just leave me be you rock head! I dont need a bath!" The old tom protested, his ears laid back, pawing at the apprentice. He was starting to smell and someone needed to help him do it, as this apprentice was sent in to do the dirty deed. He was ignoring the old farts yowling and complaining. How he wished he didnt have to lick this sour flavored tom. Eventually Brittleback just laid on one side and stayed there, his face crinkled in distaste as usual. The apprentice was tired of licking the old coot and stopped before gettign to his belly, a slight gag on his face. "Are ya done bothering me yet? you lick like a baby, and you missed a spot!" Thats was it! the apprentice had enough and went storming out of the elders den, witch made Brittleback start cackling at him " yeah! run away you mouse brain!" he yowled after him, sitting up slowly and back onto his paws, starting to grumble " stupid young'ns, think they know everything, think they are so smart just to catch a vole. When I was an apprentice, I knew my place. I didn't go pestering the elders like that... telling them they stink! little furball! A menace! thats what! *grumble grumble*" He sat there grumbling to himself, on occasion licking his chest, his old tail flopping from side to side with his usual agitation. you would have thought the bath was going to kill him.

Kinkwhisker was lying outside in the warmth of the sun just a bit outside of the elder’s den. She had her eyes closes and just enjoying the heat on her aching bones. She was almost asleep, ignoring all the noise that was happening in the den. She was listened past the grumbling protests; pass the light noise of the camp toward the forest. Listening to the birds sing in the tree tops. It… was… so… hard…… to……. keep………. awake…………… under…………… the………………. sun……………………
" yeah! run away you mouse brain!"
Kinkwhisper jerked up awake. She didn’t know that she actually fell asleep under the sun. She cracked an eye lip has she felt the vibrations and heard the sound the paw prints. She saw the upset apprentice stomped out of the den and away. She moved her eye to the corner, towards the den itself and gave a sigh. She stood up and stretched ever gently. She then made her way towards Brittleback as he grumbled to himself with an unapprovingly look.

He grumbled here and there licking his tail, his claws digging into the den floor as he twisted to do so with a growl at the pain. His head than lifted as Kinkwhisper came in, giving him that look. "what? He was incompetent" he protested, but started to soften as he stared at her. "dont look at me like that, you might make me feel guilty for the little fox dung" He grunted, but softer than a grumping. He paused gazing at that expression and he groaned "oooohh, fine. I will be nicer next time. But he was begrudging and it always makes sloppy work!" he stated, his voice was calmer now, his ears somewhat laxed to either side of his head. "besides, I thought you were sleeping."

Kinkwhisker watched as Brittleback creaked under her stare a little bit at first then fully. She gave a small smile for him and she then flicked her tail thinking about how when they were apprentices if they did a bad job their mentors would scold and punish them. She gave a wave of her tail and looked out into the clearing, and then back at the elder; trying to say just tell the mentor about the apprentice, with a smile on her face. She then walked towards the old tom and gave him a lick on his ear to comfort him.
When he said that he taught she was sleeping. She leaned back to look at Brittleback, flattening her ears back onto her head and gave him a blank scolding look. Once her look was over she brought her ear back forward again. She laid down beside the old tom with a big huff and began licking his back. Koska_Arcus Btw if you don't like the name i gave their kits just tell me. XD

Silent Treatments I think they are just fine He looked out at the clearing where she had motioned silently and stared a while, starting to reflect on the younger days. back when his purr use to be a thick deep rumble in his chest. Now it is a wheezing rattle. Speaking of purring, as she started to groom him, he was in fact starting to purr, and that was no easy feat. He finally turned his head and started to rasp his paler than pink tongue over her side, his eyes half lidding. He only paused to say one thing in his uneven rattling voice "I am sure he will tell his mentor how difficult i was being. he will be fine... the little crow-fur" he smirked. and went to licking over her again. After a while, his thoughts returned to the old days when they were lovers, sneaking away in greenleaf to share fresh-kill. the night they both became warriors and stood their silent vigil, they wanted to talk and aspire about it so bad he could hardly stand it. He started to reflect on the snake bite and how it worried him so badly for her. He brought her all of her food during that long and painful time, and even would chew it for her if he needed to.
His pur began to stop when the thoughts of their kits crossed his mind, and she could tell too. even before the move, she has seen that look in his eyes over and over for many seasons over that one leaf bare. Sense the move and their only surviving kit went to starclan, he has had a heavy heart. But it is so hard to get him to talk about it.
