Al was a little slower waking up lately and unfortunately this meant he missed the best part of waking up; breakfast. There were no eggs left and this meant no sausage or bacon or... anything at all either. He eyed the display in dismay. Just some oat bran cold cereal left, without any milk. This would not do. He had to make absolutely sure nothing that died to be eaten was left behind somehow. At the very least he could try to pilfer something from the cooks that had been intended for lunch.

He crept stealthily into the kitchen.

Molly did oh so love kitchen duty. There was always something comforting about preparing food for lots of hungry Hunters! That being said, with breakfast being done and lunch on the way, she was currently chopping up some onions for the stew that was to be served later. The trainee had her curly hair pulled back in a messy bun and the sleeves of her sweater were rolled up as she chopped.

The steady thump of the knife going through the onions and hitting the board paused though, as something red creeped into her vision. Molly blinked, and tilted her head to stare at the top of something red that was making its way by the counter she was working at.

"...Hello?" She called out to the red thing, smiling a bit.

Al felt almost like he was some sort of ninja spy. Gotta get in and get out with the goods. He could do this. He could - s**t!

The red thing lowered down further where it held perfectly still in complete silence. It was just your imagination. Go back to work. He could hear his weapon laughing at him and saying something about being caught red-handed. But Nuru was wrong, Al assured the both of them. Just wait for her to go back to chopping and then belly crawl the rest of the way.

Molly blinked more as the red thing lowered until it was out of sight. Oh my! The woman leaned over the counter as far as she could, briefly catching another glimpse of the red thing. Oh...!

She got off her tip-toes and set her knife down. Molly rubbed her hands on her apron as she moved around the counter, and leaned to peer around the corner. OH! The red thing was attached to someone! Molly giggled a bit and then waved her fingers at him.

"Hello! Is there something I can help you with?" Maybe he was here for kitchen duty, too!

Al stared at Molly with large round eyes. He has indeed been caught. Tol' ya. The weapon was laughing again even as Al frowned deeply at the strange woman. "What gave me away?" Yes, he genuinely did not seem to know what it could have possibly been. He further wondered if she could hear Nuru too, as loud as he was.

Molly felt a sharp pang in heart as she looked at Al. Al, with those large round eyes...he looked so...vulnerable. Like he needed to be...protected and taken care of. At his question, Molly was able to make the dots. It was like a child who was playing a game! Trying not to be caught!

"Oh! No!" Molly gasped, one hand cupping her cheek. "You were doing a really good job! I mean...you almost got by me!" No, really, he didn't...

"It's just um...well...red is a really bright color! So it stuck out in the kitchen...! But you were moving really fast and quietly though!" It felt very important to assure him of this. "Was there something you needed?" She asked with a tilt of her head.

Al seemed to settle right down at the assurance that he did a good job, scarf colour aside. "I um, well." He looked uncertain about letting her in on his master plan though. "I was a bit late to breakfast and well..."

He caved, "I'm hungry."

Molly's head tilted to the other side as she listened, and as he let her in on his plan, she gasped, her eyes going a bit wide.

"Oh, I see!"

Poor little guy had missed breakfast! Al was just hitting all the points with Molly. Adorable, and he wanted to eat breakfast! Well...Molly immediately beamed. "Oh, oh! I can make you some breakfast!" She exclaimed, and immediately skittered around the table, abandoning her onion cutting duty to instead make her way to the stove, and immediately pull out some breakfast items out of the fridge like eggs and butter. As she was prepping the pan though, she realized...

Molly turned around, looking like a deer in the headlights.

"Oh! What kind of stuff do you like for breakfast?"

Al was startled at first as Molly seemed to suddenly leap into a whole new task but then as she exclaimed what she was up to, everything was replaced with vibrating excitement. No one on the island has ever made him breakfast before. Let alone asked what he wanted - he stared. He was dumbfounded by her question. "Oh... um... uh... egg?" Yes, she has one of those... "Oh. And meat! I mean, sausage!" He watched her for a moment longer before his attention waned and fell upon her previous task. "What was this for?" he asked of the onion.

"Oh, yes! Of course!" Molly zipped back to the fridge, and pulled out some sausage patties. She then set to work heating up the stove and dishing out some butter into the pan. As Al brought up her previous task though, Molly panicked. "Oh, gosh!" She zipped back over to the onion, and finished chopping it up. "This is for lunch, later! Stew is one of the options! Or is it dinner...?" Molly's brows furrowed briefly as she tried to remember.

Then she smelled the butter she had put into the other pan starting to burn, squealed, and then ran back over to the pan she had abandoned. Molly turned down the heat, slabbed some more butter into it, and then cracked a few eggs into the pan, along with some sausage patties.

She then looked over her shoulder at Al. "Oh, I'm sorry! I never introduced myself! My name is Molly! Mist Division!" Since she wasn't wearing her coat. "What's your name?"

Al's eyes widened with wonder as Molly began to multi-task quite a bit. On his behalf, even. He wondered what he could do and moved closer to the onion station to touch the knife thoughtfully. "What else needs chopped up?" He tried to sound interested but not too interested.

"I'm Al," his voice picked up cheerily. "I'm in the death division." That was only partly true and he felt a little bit guilty lying to her for some reason. (Al was not his real name, after all)

Not really multi-task...more like now ignoring her current duty assignment to make breakfast...she'd get back to it though, of course! The trainee reached over the stove for a spatula and started to stir what she was cooking. "Oh! Just um...the rest of the onions, then the carrots, and the potatoes!" She looked at him over her shoulder briefly.

"But don't worry, I'll get back to it right after!" She beamed. "It's nice to meet you, Al!" Truth be told, she was sort of aware of him...if not through the Twitters and maybe seeing him here and there, but never had she been formally introduced to him. "How long have you been awake for?"

"A while," he answered vaguely as he honestly couldn't remember. It had felt like years to him but he was sure that wasn't right. He didn't exactly appear to be heeding her statement about the vegetable chopping either and was already handling the sharp blade curiously. Well she WAS making him breakfast after all, the least he could do was just...

"Oooh...I see!" Molly chirped, nodding her head a bit. She resumed stirring up the food, and didn't think anything of the sound of chopping vegetables as she cooked. It wasn't much longer until the food was done, and she grabbed a plate as she took the plan off the stove and slid the food onto the plate. "All done!" Molly announced, grabbing a fork. She then turned around, holding up the plate triumphantly but then ended up pausing as she stared at Al.

"...Oh my goodness!" She exclaimed with wide eyes, staring at him as he expertly chopped up the onion. "...Al! You didn't have to..!" She kept staring though, awe struck.

"...You're really good at this," Like, really good. Molly's tone was nothing but awed reverence.

Al halted production after he finished the last onion to descend upon the meal that had been crafted just for him. He seized his prize and was already attacking the sausage when he realized that Molly was praising him. He gave her a look as if she had lost her mind then looked down at the pile of diced onion left behind and finally looked at her again. "Wasn't me," he lied again only far less guilty about it this time. Even though he knew that it was very likely she saw. It was still easier to deny than to explain.

In his opinion.
