The sun was warm on his cloak as the God walked. Even in his mortal form he was of an impressive size, easily dwarfing a full stock Pridelander male. He would make Firekin whimper, and it was all unintentional. Sekmes had never learned how to properly size himself when appearing mortal, and thus, there he was.
He lifted a paw to stroke his tufted chin in thought. Would this be the proper place to leave his daughter? Seserija was his heart and soul, so she would have to have some place worthy of her presence! A pride that welcomed others of all shapes and sizes with a heart as big as his own. He had heard rumors that this was the sort of place to find such a thing, and thus he craned his neck, trying to find someone to confirm the rumors.

Vogel was actually the first one awake that morning. It was early, to say the least, but once he was up - he was up! Unfortunately, he didn't know quite what to do, so he pulled up Bryne from her slumber, worried about her health, and they made their way to the border.
She woke quickly, however, if slightly embarrassed. The lioness would lean against Vogel's side the whole way to the borders. They always went together, unwilling to part for long. It was a nice stroll, and sometimes they would gain a companion on their walks.
At least it made for interesting conversation... Vogel was particularly excited for today, having not had to drag behind a chattering Bryne for the whole of the stroll. The pair wandered with friendly banter, skirting along the outside of the lands.
Oh yes, today would be a nice day indeed.

It wasn't hard to find the pair, especially not when Sekmes was going so far out of his way to find someone to talk with. It made his heart melt to see the two. Young love! At least, that's what he assumed, since they didn't look enough like one another to be related.
"Excuse me, you two!" He hated to interrupt their stroll, but really, even a God didn't have an eternity to wait around for a second chance. "This is the Pridelands, correct? I haven't gone too far?" His voice was boisterous, easily echoing off any nearby stone.

Vogel nearly jumped out of his skin. All his attentions had been focused on Bryne, but the lioness didn't seem to phased. "You're right on the border, Sir," She told him kindly, eyeing him a curiously. The outsider was large. Larger than any lion she had ever seen, personally.
Vogel brushed against Bryne for a moment, seeking comfort for himself. "What brings you here?" He asked, curiously, but not unkindly. He enjoyed talking with the comers and goers of the pride. It made everything interesting, at least.

"Woah there, fireball. It's alright." Sekmes chuckled heartily. He moved closer to the pair, his large cloak trailing off him on one side. It seemed that no matter what territory he crossed it never dirtied, which was handy.
"Ah, then I've come in the right direction! That's good news indeed." He smiled warmly to the pair, just dying to ask questions. Really, some times he was too nosy for his own good. "I've been looking for a pride where my daughter can live in peace. She's a bit of a head strong girl, always insisting she can travel with me, but I move around so much that I'm afraid I won't be able to look after her all the time. It would just kill me if anything happened to her."

Vogel flushed at the acknowledgement of his flinch and gave a nervous laugh. "Sorry," he murmured, looking up to the larger male. Bryne gave a small laugh herself before focusing on the newcomer.
"Your daughter, you say? The Pridelands offers protection by safety in numbers, as well as numerous scouts," She told the other. "It's very peaceful here, but there's no guarantee she'll like it unless she can experience it herself." She rocked a bit on her toes. She wouldn't know how to react if her father suddenly told her where to go.
But perhaps his daughter was a young lady in need of protection - she didn't know. "Perhaps you can bring her 'round." Vogel agreed. If she was headstrong... Well, he didn't know if she'd accept the pride as it was, with her father's decision. But this was his home, so he always hoped others would enjoy the lands as much as he did.

"Yep, got a wee one myself." Sekmes stood as tall and proud as a tree. In truth she wasn't so little anymore, in all actuality she dwarfed most lions in her own right, but to him she was still just a cub. "Oh, I'd agree. I'm mostly just out poking around to see if anything might strike up an interest. I'll take notes, bring them back to her and see what she thinks."
Sekmes looked about him with glee. Ah yes, what a spectacular land this was then! To have safety in numbers, scouts...he assumed they had a monarchy as well, and a well beloved one, perhaps! He would have to inspect that for himself as well. "Perhaps I shall. I'd say a little charmer like yourself would like to make his lady friend jealous, wouldn't ya, patchy?" He winked, trying his best to be subtle.

Bryne gave a smile - she wanted children of her own one day, but that was far in the future - very far. She and Vogel were very early in their courtship and it would last a long while before they became mates, if it did happen. She focused back on the large lion and nodded. "That'd probably be best. There are quite a few prides about, after all!"
But then the next statement came, directed to Vogel and the patchwork lion sputtered, nearly choking on the air he was breathing. "N-no, I'd never!" He said, aghast and the implication, probably flush from ears to tail!
Bryne scowled, knocking her body comfortingly against Vogel to calm him. She knew him, and that's what mattered. "If you like, we can even give her a guided tour - or one of the other scouts could, of course," She said, kindly, though a little sharpness edged her words. She didn't want to rise to something meant as a little tease, after all, but still - things happened.

Sekmes waggled his brows promiscuously before guffawing so loud birds took flight in the trees around him. "Never what boy, spit it out!" He shook his head and grinned easily. "Calm down, lad, I was just giving your tail a pull. You're a good male, aren't'cha? Gonna make a good pap of your own one day."
It almost brought a tear to his eye! Such wee ones, making little ones of their own some day.
He looked to the lass. "That'd be a blessing, really. I'm sure my girl would just love that. The more the merrier, I say, but she would like a smaller group, so the two of you would be better suited for her." Of course he didn't notice the edge to her voice, nor did he pay much attention to the way she reacted to his teasing. He was just there to show her how good a little forward thinking could be, after all!
"I'd best be getting on myself, wouldn't want to find something strange lookin' for me, ya know? I'll bring her by...say, tomorrow, at the same time?"

Vogel watched the birds fly away at the loud, booming laughter. It nearly made him wince, but he stood his ground.
"We'll be sure to give her a tour," Bryne told him with a smile. Hopefully his daughter wouldn't joke as much as he did. She could take a little teasing, but Vogel took everything to heart - she didn't wanna see him hurt by any jokes.
"We will see you tomorrow, then." Bryne nudged Vogel back into the lands and away from the borders and he walked ahead, heading back into the lands she would follow him in a moment. "We'll both show back up in this location to give her a tour - and yourself, if you like." She bowed her head, "We'll see you then."
She trotted off to follow Vogel, eager to join him.
