There were some things a star thought about in the moment. Some things they thought about later, and some things they never thought about at all. Steelheart considered protocol and tactics in the moment, leaving matters such as repair and maintenance for later (until it came time to no longer ignore). And there were, of course, things he'd never thought about at all. What they were, he didn't know--obviously, he'd never thought about them. He didn't expect to encounter any of them. One never did.
Steelheart rather enjoyed Llyn Dinas. It was a place he felt like he belonged. Every so often, though, he felt the need to branch out; to explore. To see more of the world. To contact other herds in the name of peace and diplomacy. That was why he was away now--he had been sent to sweep the area and learn more information; if there were new herds, if there were other stars out here who could be interested in joining them. So far there was little indication of that. The area was an evergreen forest full of fir and pine, and for the most part, stars rarely found enough to eat in such environs, and thus did not settle in great numbers. At least, not in Steelheart's experience.
So he did not expect to be thinking about what the sound was coming down the track--the sound that sounded like another star.

Astray had wandered not to far from her family, though they were there she was a little lonely. Mist didn't' stay that long said he became knight to a princess or something. That was wonderful and all but, she was still here by herself well with her daddy but still. she was too strange to have any friends. The Manor did a number on her, and the two friends of hers that always seemed to follow her. Guardian ghosts she called them. She didn't like fighting, she never had the ghosts instead were her defence. If anyone made her feel threatened they would appear, she would watch as they attacked her attacker.
Where was Miyako? Astray wondered too. Her sister seemed distracted for some reason, from what she understood Miyako was going to return to the manor. Where would that leave her? Astray was too afraid to return there the things lurking there... Though positively not much else frightened her from growing up there. However, it made her strange. She never understood other starborn. What frightened others she did not understand. Most were frightened of her very appearance.
Who would ever befriend a ghost like star covered in blood, armor with strange metallic eyes? It was unfortunate and she understood though the only comfort she would ever have would be her family. She couldn't help but lament from time to time when her loneliness peaked.
Her sensitive ears heard gears grinding long before the other star probably knew she was there. One had to have good hearing to sense the chime of a bell. "Who comes?" she spoke softly as the sound came closer revealing a metallic stallion. Something she had never seen before, her own father was similar but this one had no flesh at all. Or at least she could see none.

There was very little Steelheart was afraid of (besides salt water and lightning). Other stars were certainly not one of them, and besides, he'd been sent to find other stars. So at the sound of another star approaching, he did not hesitate for one second. He merely kept moving towards the source of the sound along the pine-needle path. Walking around a corner marked by holly, he finally caught site of the source of the soft hoofsteps. The other star was a slender mare with a long, pale mane and captivating eyes. They looked like they were made of glass. There was something behind them, very like a fire... Steelheart bowed his head and kept his tail lowered. "I am Sir Steelheart," he murmured, his voice reverberating in metallic sound. "I wish you a good morning. May I know the name of this place where I walk, if it is known to you?"
She might not be from around here, but then again, she might be. Hanging from the curved crest on her forehead was a sprig of holly. Embroidery on her sleeves depicted an evergreen tree. The rest of her, though, was strange. Those red marks on her body--were they blood, or did they merely appear to be so? And for what reason did she wear those pale shoulder pads? Was she a warrior herself? If she was, she was surely one of the fast, swift ones. She probably would be no threat to him, but he did not wish a fight. He pushed all thoughts of violence from his mind and awaited her reply.Ice_Dragon_Demon Oh god, let's hope Skyquake doesn't suddenly decide to join his daughter on her stroll.

The mechanical body of the one approaching was not unfamiliar to her crimson glass eyes. He reminded her of her father only with more mechanized parts. Her father had told her of his home and his war. They were great mechanized warriors and they spread across the stars. Maybe he was one of them? However Astray born far away from that couldn't fully understand how her father and uncle felt about it. It was fortunate for her. But she knew one thing. Autobots were the villains they suppressed her father's people for ages.
He offered his name. Fitting wasn't it? He was certainly named accordingly with his steel body and mechanisms. He would want her name wouldn't he? It was a good thing she wasn't afraid of much. The Kuze mansion tended to do that. "I am Astray Kuze," The mare glanced around the lovely area "I know not the name of this place for I am only here in passing, Sir Steelheart."
His gaze seemed to fall on her armor. She wore some yes. Astray, was not a fighter, far from it. She'd rather talk or lead stars But she would be strong and brave if she needed to be. Especially where her family was concerned.
"Are you cybertronian?" she had to ask She knew only of one besides her father and uncle. She had been told to stay as far away from him as possible.Geyser Eelborn He so should xDD BAD AUTOBOT

Not from around here, then, despite all appearances. Perhaps, then, she hailed from some other coniferous forest studded with holly. Or perhaps she dressed for her environment. Or perhaps she was lying. Still, despite her appearance--spooky, otherworldly, almost ghost-like--he found himself unfrightened by this "Astray Kuze." She was different from other organics he'd met, but she was different, in more ways than just her appearance. There seemed to be an inner serenity about her. He wondered at it--he so rarely felt true serenity. Calm, certainly, but the lady seemed to radiate calm and confidence so strongly that he couldn't help but get sucked into that aura...
He bowed his head once again, this time lowering the end of his brilliant horn to touch the ground. "Lady Kuze, I am honored to make your acquaintance. We are, I hope, well-met." He raised his head once again to look her in the eyes. That same fire burned within them, but not like a bonfire, nor a campfire, nor a hearthfire, no. No, that was the fire of a star, a star up in the night sky, not just a star on the ground. So strange to find one whose inner essence truly did shine out through their eyes. But as with all sweet things, reality interrupts with a yank on the ear to remind one that one is staring at a mare that could, quite rightly, be suspicious of one.
Cybertronian. He rolled the word across his mind for a few seconds, seeking out the meaning of the word. It was surely a nation of peoples, or perhaps a breed he was not familiar with. Their word for constructs such as himself? Or perhaps it referred to some peoples who bore some sort of resemblance to him, a herd, or a religious cult or some such. It was a strange-sounding word, at once crackling with power, steeped in ancient meaning, and sillier than a songbird in love. "I have never heard that word before," he said. "I am but a construct, my lady. Are Cybertronians ones you have need to fear?"Skyquake had visited the manor some weeks before, seeking out his now-adult daughters to meet. He had not been surprised, upon meeting them, to feel strong affection for them. Of course he did! He may not have met them before, but they were his children, for Primus's sake! Buds of his spark, and children, also, of his dear friend Kyouka. Nor had he been surprised to feel guilt upon realizing that none of his three children had grown up knowing him. He'd made a decision from an early age, before the idea of finding someone he loved enough to have children with entered his mind, that if he were ever to have children, he would be a supportive father and raise them alongside his mate.
Perhaps what he was surprised about was...how different they were than he expected, and perhaps he shouldn't have been surprised. They'd been raised by their mother, after all, and Kyouka came from a very different culture than either he or his brother had. Even Mistsorrow, raised by his uncle, had turned out differently than Sandstrife had. The strange paths the spark takes, the twists and turns. Time continues its inexorable roll like an out-of-control tank on bad engex. Skyquake wanted to make up for lost time. When Astray had wandered away from the group--perhaps to get away from Mistsorrow's enthusing about this "alicorn princess" of whom he was so clearly smitten?--he decided to go after her. He wanted to get to know her better. What better way than a walk together through the woods?

He was honored to meet her acquaintance? Wasn't it true most feared the Kuze name? Why had this Steelheart not flinched at the sound of it? It was a name known by all was it not? Had he possibly encountered other oddities like her? Or was he just too foolish to know what was in front of him. An eerie breeze blew by the mare as though surrounded by some ethereal force. How should she respond? What was she supposed to do? She wasn't used to anyone staying after they got a look at her.
She raised her brow as Steelheart answered her question. She was a little disappointed should he not know as well? Had he no knowledge of those like him? or her for that matter. He was strange again for having such a lack in knowledge. Astray did not understand Though she was not pure cybertronian she was still of the blood. According to her father the cybertronians were built too. "I am of Cybertronian heritage." Astray explained to Steelheart. "Fear? No of course not, why would one fear their own brother and sisters?" There was only one thing she should fear, the other faction of cybertronians those cruel tyrant autobots. Surely Steelheart was not one of them. Father had told him to stay away from anyone related to these autobots. Steelheart however didn't seem like the type. Astray however, had never met an autobot maybe they were deceptive? Ever since her father had returned there was more to learn about the other half of her heritage.
Her attention however, soon shifted elsewhere. A smile grace's astray's features making her look rather haunting "Father," Astray could hear the heavy crashing footsteps of the large solara as he approached. She had honed her sense of hearing to be able to hear the softest whip of air. Often not hearing something so subtle meant death within the mansion itself. No longer within the confines of the mansion Astray's reflex remained. Geyser Eelborn ((Mist is very Smitten It's adorable *shot* Also I hope you will know this is your fault I am up so late! I may have left something I am not seeing Poke me if I have messed up))

Ah, so she was seeking one of her own kind, then. If she had not been able to immediately recognize him as one of her own, he highly doubted that he was a "Cybertronian" of which she spoke.
But then, if she could recognize them, why had she asked? Such mysteries in this stranger. "I have no siblings I know of, so I do not think I could answer that question," he said. "I can only hope that you and I have no reason to fear each other." Not that he was too worried about his chances in a fight. She might be fast, but he was also heavily-armored--he could take almost anything another Star could throw at him, especially an organic. If nothing else, he might be able to chase her off with his heavy tail and his sparking horn--he certainly didn't want to fight her. I may be a knight, he thought to himself, and that may be a type of warrior, but I would rather avoid a fight if I can--no matter how shameful strangers might find that. Then again, if she was bad news, then he might have to fight her after all--a dangerous star could not be allowed anywhere near his herd, and even here, a few days out, he considered himself close to herd territory.
Steelheart caught the sound of breaking undergrowth after the mare did. Apparently the sounds were associated with the approach of her parent. He kept an optic trained in the direction of the crashing--he was curious as to what a "Cybertronian" looked like. Maybe Astray Kuze's father's appearance could answer his question.
When the other stallion appeared, he was taken aback. He wasn't sure what he'd been expecting, but it certainly was not that! He began to revise his earlier conviction that an organic would have no chance against him. If there existed an organic who could best him in a challenge of hooves and horn, it would be that one.It did not take too long, really, to find Astray, but Sky was certain that the shrubs he had trampled along his way would disagree. He was clumsy. It was a fact of life--or rather, unlife. He would never have whatever Seeker grace he had possessed in life (admittedly not as much as the smaller models). It seemed that Unicron had sapped the dexterity out of him (or perhaps just Starscream and his stupid, stupid plots). Then again, he felt...stronger than he had before. And while he still preferred not to be pierced or made to bleed, pain was a long way away now--dulled, numbed, happening to someone else. Bleeding could hurt everything and everyone around him, but it would never hurt he himself ever again. Good-bye, holly bushes.
Astray was standing in the path talking to-- Skyquake snarled and lunged forward. All he'd seen was the sheen of silver metal and a blaze of blue that was sickeningly familiar. An Autobot! Threatening his daughter! He charged towards the stranger, muscles bunching and pushing him forward like a slug from a gun--
But something wasn't quite right about the stranger. Their lack of kibble, for one thing--all Cybertronians (except those freaks, the monoformers) wore special armor to represent their other form, their "alt-mode." It was part of the reason behind a Seeker's wing plates and the "cockpit" armor on their chest. This stallion did not have kibble of any kind--and nor did he have any flesh. Skyquake pulled up short in front of the stranger, stopping just soon enough to not be impaled on the arcturus-alike's horn. He snorted and looked the stranger over. They were entirely metallic, from top to bottom, except for pieces of glass here and there. And yet, that blue was the bright blue of an Autobot's eyes...Ice_Dragon_Demon I've mostly been playing the twins as if this is an alternate universe where the Cybertronians are organic, horse-like creatures that wear armor everywhere, but I don't remember if we've ever ironed out the details on this?

"Do you not know of The Kuze family?" she watched him curiously "We're cursed." she explained. She listened to his answer about cybertronians and Astray herself was not as familiar with cybertronians other than what her father had explained to her. One of the big rules was by all costs never get near Starscream and always be wary of him also never go near autobots they were evil, oppressive and lacking in honor. They honestly sounded horrible and she never wanted to meet one.
The mare stepped back behind her father as he lunged at steelheart. Astray was a bit surprised, for father to be so angry at this stranger... he must be, but he hadn't seemed to know what a cybertronian was. She puzzled was he lying? He seemed honest but she knew little of the outside world aside her family. She remained behind her father peeking over his much larger form. she had a strange feeling steelheart was telling the truth. he really did look different from them. Astray didn't have her father's experience.

Steelheart tensed as the other stallion charged at him, lowering his horn and pointing it at the other star's throat. The incoming charge would knock him backwards, but it would do considerable damage to the Solara nonetheless, even if he couldn't get a good blow to the heart through that armor. Thankfully, the stranger pulled to a stop just in front of Steelheart and instead fixed him with a ferocious and suspicious eye. He clearly did not trust Steelheart.
To be honest, Steelheart did not trust him either, although he suspected that the other stallion had just as much reason to be distrustful. His daughter was here with a stranger, after all, and parents tended to be protective of their children. As for Steelheart, well...there was something off about this stranger, and it wasn't just the size, strength, and aggression. It was the charred, shredded wings, and the faint glowing in the eyes. Something wasn't right here...
Still...even ferocious things could be good at heart. It was wrong of him to judge Lady Astray's father without getting to know him first, just as it was wrong of the Solara to assume the worst of him. Steelheart bowed his head respectfully to the larger stallion. "Greetings, Lord Kuze," he said softly. "We are well-met. I am Sir Steelheart of Llyn Dinas."
He turned to Astray, who stood behind her father, and shook his head. "I am afraid I do not know of the Kuze family, though I am not as well-traveled as I should like to be. If you are cursed...I am truly sorry. If there is anything I can do to ease your trouble, I shall do it." Looking at the bloody markings on the mare and the cadaverous appearance of the stallion, he could well believe that their family was cursed.Skyquake squinted at this "Steelheart of Llyn Dinas." That was not a Cybertronian name, though who could ever tell with Autobots. He kept his tail between the strange stallion and his daughter and looked him over for identifying marks that would betray him as an Autobot. No kibble, as he'd seen, and no symbols or marks. Not necessarily an Autobot, then, or a Cybertronian at all, but with a long horn, steel flesh, and an axe blade for a tail, he was not safe.
"I am Skyquake of Vos--I am no lord, nor am I of the Kuze family. Merely the father of three Kuzes." Not merely, in his mind, of course, but he'd heard enough about Kyouka's mother to know that "merely" was the nicest thing she would have said about him if they'd met. "Where do you come from, Sir Steelheart of Llyn Dinas?"

Astray watched from behind her father curiously peeking our her head. her father and Steelheart were still fighting curiously Astray was still unsure as to what her father was so angry about. She was getting more certain that he was definitely not one of those insidious autobots She'd heard of from her father. Steelheart seemed like a decent sort.
They seemed to take pause finally and Steelheart introduced himself to her father. she could tell her father was still quite suspicious. "The Kuze's are few right now, though they used to be quite well known." she added absently with a bit of lament. They did used to be quite well known especially when the area had become consumed by ghosts.
though Astray did let out a light somewhat eerie laugh when Steelheart refereed to his father as Lord Kuze. "The Kuze family is run by mares and only mares."
