After a long day on the training compound it was nice to come back to dorm Falke and have a place to sit down and simply relax. Several people also shared the space with him; he had learned during Orientation. He did not know all of his fellow soldiers as well as he did Axel, so Alec found himself curious about those who made up their group. Of those he recognized, only two of them were female. The others were males ranging in ages mostly in their early 20's. Besides Lenore, he was the youngest.

The afternoon sun had set, vanishing into the cradle of the night. All in all, it was a fairly pleasant evening thus far. It had been hot most the entire day, enough to give some less fortunate against the suns harshness rather colorful sun burns. Classes had gone on for a long time, and cleaning the horse stalls had been an utmost dire need. None other than dorm Falke were more inspired to make sure the duty was done. Least they have to deal with the awful scent in the evening. Dinner too had passed by without much fuss, they'd had a choice between chicken or mutton along with potatoes and gravy. Now, he sat lazily in one of the arm chairs in the dorm leaning across it just a bit. While the rain might have brought relief from the heat, it also meant they didn't have to do PT in the mud the next day.

At some point as more members filled in from dinner he figured it was a good time to try and break the ice. "Say, how did everyone's days go? Is everyone getting settled in alright?" Alec offered as a conversation starter. He lifted his head up from where it had been resting in one gloved palm.

Such an innocuous question would test the waters - to see if anyone was willing to share perhaps why they had enlisted. Shun and Lenore's stories he knew in passing, but without any great detail. Axel, though, he was perplexed to see here given the last conversation they'd shared about joining up. Kody and Mykanos were still strangers to him, but that didn't mean he wasn't interested in hearing from them should they choose to share.

Alec had just missed the storm apparently, as he had retreated back to the dorm after dinner. He went without lingering for an evening walk.. He was tired, but mostly still awake. When Mykanos made his way inside the dorm, he raised his hand in greeting, noting the fact the other was shirtless but made no comment. It wasn't like other trainee's didn't run around shirtless from time to time, and he looked like he had gotten out before the brunt of the storms weather. Alec sat up in his chair, so he could actually see past his being slumped over. A small smile etched its way onto his face,

"That's good. I'm Not to bad, I'm still trying to ease into PT at times..it can be a little rough, but it'll get better with time I figure." There was a note of hopefulness behind that otherwise dreary comment. At least it wasn't like first couple days. Running was one thing, but doing it constantly and with endurance training was taxing on ones muscles when not use to such daily fitness. Most of his time lately had been in exercising and learning thus far. He'd also managed to make a few friends thankfully. "Otherwise I'm managing, can't say I can complain." Alec inclined his head, nodding once or twice to the other in confirmation.

Alec sat himself up pressing a glove to a tired eye nodding slowly in understanding of what the older was saying. It was easier said than done, but at least the others words were encouraging. "I suppose that isn't such a bad idea." He looked thoughtful, not having tried training with anyone in particular. Perhaps running with some a bit quick paced in the early morning, or trying to keep pace wise so what harm could it bring. While he was tired, and not much up for dragging himself to his feet he took to heart the fact the other was at least trying to offer conversation. They'd been slow to talk at first, leading to long silence but he meant no harm this much the red head could summarize.

"I guess theirs a few things to be done in doors, what did you have in mind given the limited space.." He mused thoughtfully. "Say, what brought you to enlist if you don't mind me asking?" Alec asked with a curious glance, sitting himself up so he wasn't being rude in his slouching across the arm of the sofa tiredly. The sound of the rain just outside could be heard even from the common room. It had its calming aspect, something he hadn't experienced being constantly worried in one fashion or another. It wasn't very sensible, but he could only do his best after all.
