Each month trainee hunters were granted two days of shore leave. After recent events, Arland had mad a conscious decision to actually use up the whole 48 hours this time, setting his alarm for earlier in the morning than he usually bothered to get up so that he could toss together a small overnight bag. He patted himself down to make sure that he had his wallet in his pocket and Tivadar's charm around his neck.

When he'd done one more check around the room he slid out, locking it behind him only to head down the hall to knock on Inoke's door. "Noke, man, you up?"

"I think so... Not that I had a whole lot to drag with me. Gonna need to hit up a store once we're off this island and on another. Don't think trunks were on the list of things I stuffed into my duffel when I answered the island's call." He flashed the other a smirk. "Also figured if we got out of here early enough we'd be able to go somewhere for breakfast. I'm ******** starving for something that isn't rations. We should probably pick up some tupperware somewhere too while we're gone; hit up a buffet somewhere and bring home leftovers..."

"Forty-eight hours from time time we log the portal." He nodded, figuring it would be better to go with forty-six or forty-seven just to be on the safe side. With the way things had been going he'd rather not risk being late back and sacrificing a chance to get away again. "So let's get the hell on our way before something happens and someone changes their mind, alright?"

"You're going to be doing way more laying in the sun than I am... I wouldn't mind a little bit of night life, though. Think we can find a cheap hotel?" His brow lofted as he followed along after the other, taking everything in stride. It wasn't like they had to go too cheap. He had several months of pay backed up onto his card and he'd been pretty thrifty on spending things just to save up for something like this.

"Maybe you can find us a place to stay while I hit up a shop?"

"So you find it and I'll book it." He nodded in return, shifting his bag over his shoulder as he glanced at Inoke before stepping through the portal backwards so that he was watching for the other to follow after him once he was on the other side. It was probably a good thing that they weren't dropped off anywhere busy since he was paying absolutely no mind to anything going on behind him.

"Kids these days, man. Always relying on their elders to do something for them. Do we need to get you an ID card while we're out?"

"You must think I'm horrible." He huffed softly, shaking his head slowly before turning around so that he was ready to walk off in whatever direction he expected Inoke to take the lead in guiding them, trusting that the other had made some sort of plan since he was the one who had picked out the coordinates.

"Breakfast first, then trunks and lodging, yeah?"

"Not even too worried about the coffee at this point. I'd kill for some hotcakes, though... Maybe bacon, eggs? Can we get that here or should I just let you order something for me?" His stomach was growling at this point and he probably would've given right in to rations if that was the only thing being set in front of him. How long had it been since he'd last had an honest to god decent meal?

"This one's on me, at least." He nodded. "Whatever we wind up getting."

He refrained from immediately making some sort of comment about dingos followed by biting down on the inside of his cheek to keep himself from saying blimey. Instead he made a beeline for the door, swinging it open and holding it so that they could both slip inside. He held up his hand to signal two when asked how many there would be joining them, flashing the older woman a smile as she lead them to a table.

"Man, if I could just... Bottle this smell and bring it back home with us it would be amazing. I'd just open the bottle and take a whiff before starting in on my rations..."
