Yitzah was bothered today. Dyakida was gone, leaving her room devoid of that warm, comforting presence. Yes, she was only in Andile at the market, but it was still upsetting to Yitzah. She had not, of course, told anybody. Whenever she tried, she remembered her voice, and how much she had always sounded like the twins, and she clammed up.
Tomorrow she had told herself, Tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow I will ask her to take me with her or stay behind
But tomorrows came and went, and she hadn't gotten up the courage to use her voice, and Dyakida had ended up going to Andile without her. Not even Peyla was there for company. She would have acepted the sprite's company in lieu of Dyakida's - she and the sprite were practically the same in Yitzah's mind anyway.
Instead, though, there was Briella. Yitzah didn't know Briella very well, aside from her being Dyakida's friend. She supposed that a friend of Dyakida's had to be decent enough, but Yitzah was suspicious.
So, today, she followed Briella around, a silent, judging shadow, watching the older alkidike.
It was, at least, something to do besides sleep and let the nightmare-monsters take her away.

Briella walked around the house, getting ready to go out and gather some fruits She was aware of eyes on her at all times, even though she did not see Yitzah with her own eyes. She knew how children were, it wasn't all that long ago that Ilyra was like that. Than again, it actually was a long time ago. She shook her head as she realized that her little girl was now a Blade. Boy was she getting old.
Before leaving the house she winked at Amadi, who had been buzzing around all day. The sprite went and pulled on Yitzah's hair. "Come on Yitzah, if you're going to be following me around than you might as well make yourself useful and gather some fruit with me." Briella said from the doorway. She laughed as she held a smaller bag out, not even bothering to look behind at the girl.
"Dyakida won't be home for a while, and I rather not leave you home alone. Plus I could use the help, more hands and more bags mean more fruit for the house."

Yitzah knew that Peyla did not like Amadi. Thus, Yitzah did not like Amadi very much either.
She hadn't seen him come up to her, so focused was she on Briella, that, when her hair was pulled, she yelped and nearly exclaimed, flailing at Amadi with her little hands, her face comically contorted in sudden anger.
But, as before, her voice did not want to come. It was there, at the very back of her mouth. She could make it, she could feel the vibrations travel up her throat, ready to reverberate out into her mouth and speak her unpleasant thoughts to the world. But, every time she tried to speak or thought about speaking or felt those vibrations start, she felt unwilling to let them go any further. she woudl stop them with the back of her tongue until they faded away along with the strange trepidation they brought with them.
So she didn't call the sprite all the rude names she wanted to. Instead, she stomped, making a very unhappy sound as she glared at Amadi, then at Briella.
She stared at her for a moment before snatching the bag away, her antennae drooping moodily. Fine. She'd help.
