a pet dino We can probably have a bunch of timeskips and scenes? Like, proposing the trip, starting off, on the way, and there in zena? Ikkio had known something was wrong. Off. Not right.
Mother not coming home confirmed it, but she said nothing. She'd thought things had returned to their usual balance, structure and purpose, and had lived her life accordingly, but there was a tension in the air that reminded her - too much - of the time after the battle.
She had left to continue training in magic, and was waiting on Reshel's porch step for her sister to arrive. She wished she hadn't left alone, but she had forgotten for a moment in her haste to leave the house, that place of tension where she had lost control.
She'd lost control of the situation again, and it bothered her. It always bothered her. Having her sister nearby - that constant, gullible, fond presence - made it that much better.
And so she waited.
Plus, Grandma didn't like her, and she was not going near that old hag without her sister with her. Such an ugly creature. Ikkio disliked her. But, Sen'oda could be useful someday, if only for manipulating uncle Reshel or Daddy, so she pretended to be sweet and cute and a dutiful granddaughter, mimicing Ikuri as best she could.
Her sister made it all seem so effortless. What did her sister have to gain from the woman? Daddy was already looped around Ikuri's finger and Reshel liked her a lot - he never forgot Ikkio's troublesome actions from her childhood.
What did her sister have to gain? She mused on this thought as she waited, struggling to hold back her boredom...

Zuri was mad after the little practice battle with her husband, but she had done what she set off to do. She told him that she was going to Zena, and that she was taking the girls with her. Even still she took off to get healed, she needed it both emotionally and physically. She had never lost before, and wasn't very happy about it happening. Even if it was only once.
Still, she spent the day in the market, gathering the things they would need for their trip. Things such as more layers they could buy later when they got closer to Zena, for now all they really needed was food and stuff to hold water in. It wasn't much, not more than the three girls could carry themselves, but it would be enough. Plus they each had companions to carry them, or their supplies, if needed.
Once she had everything she went back home and went looking for the girls. They would be leaving that day. After searching she only found Ikuri. "Honey where is your sister? We must be going, we are leaving to Zena today. Collect your stuff and I'll go get her. Plus get Loxy ready. I have everything we need, but if you want to bring anything of your own things pack them now. I shall be back with your sister soon." with that she kissed Ikuri's forehead and left to find her other daughter, heading towards Reshel's home.

Ikuri was just about to leave to find her sister when her mother got home. Her mother hadn't been there for dinner the night before, or breakfast for that matter, and she was starting to get worried. However at her mother's words everything made sense. Zuri was getting them ready for their trip! Finally, she was so excited to go and she could barely hide it. As her mother went off to get her sister she started packing, putting things away that she thought her sister would like as well.
Hopefully this would make her sister happy with her. She was sad to be going, but at the same time excited. That meant more people to teach her magic, different kinds of magic. Plus she had been wanting to travel for some time anyways.

Ikkio looked up from bored contemplation of the ground and her own thoughts as Zumurundi barked a light 'yip' and waved his tail, signalling an approaching friendly. Initially, of course, she thought it was Ikuri, coming to see her later than usual, and she perked up. But then, she saw the familiar blue skin and silver eyes, and tensed inwardly.
"Mother." she said in that throaty too-grown-up voice. "What a surprise." With the strangeness of the night before and the uncertainty of the day, Ikkio looked at her mother with cold wariness and a smile.
"Is something the matter?" not that Ikkio cared, but why else would her mother be at a healer's tent? And if there was something wrong, that meant that Ikkio could try out her budding magic on her mother. She had always wanted to do that, ever since she had come away from the war camp.
To be her mother's healer would be the absolute power over her. It would be perfect.
"Or..." Ikkio's eyes narrowed, "Were you looking for me?" but why would her dear mother be looking for her.Zumurundi barked again at Zuri and pounced down to greet her, tail waving. He liked her, and her new radaku, very much. Of course, Ikkio would always be his Alpha, but that didn't mean he couldn't say hi now and then, right?
