My uncle died this morning.
On fathers day.
I feel terrible for my cousins.
In fact, I feel terrible for myself.
To think that this all started because one silly hip replacement.
One day, Mike, my uncle, was complaining about pains in his hip. My aunt, Dee, was thinking he was just complaining because he's old, and old people hurt sometimes. The pain got progressively worse, so they went to the veteran's (Yes, he is a veteran) hospital to get it checked out.
They removed the faulty hip, but as they did so, (I'm not very science-y, but i'll explain my best) a blood clot began to move towards his lungs. They did SOMETHING to move it away, which moved it towards his brain.
He had a stroke.
It had been days, and he wasn't moving. It was announced that there would be permanent damage. 'He should recover,' everyone had said.
Everyone was wrong.
He got progressively better, yes, and he was able to talk and recognize what we were telling him.
But then, it hit a climax and all that's left after that is a downfall.
He then got progressively worse, and died this morning.
Now, i'm probably not 100% accurate, but I tried.
Rest in Peace, Mike. Rest in peace.
