Cressida was virtually an only child, Jasper was eight years older then she was and wanted little to do with his younger sister, because of that she had to learn how to amuse herself. She learned that she was an outside person, she loved nature and all things to do with it, she found that she could swim in the rivers as a child in the dead of winter, and she didn't feel the affects as badly.
A regular wild child this girl was, shed run around barefooted through the forests, and she was fearless facing off with snakes and wild animals like cougars. She learned how to lie from Jasper, she learned how to sneak out from him; all in all Jasper was a bad influence on the young girl who looked up and idolized her brother until she got old enough to realize what he was doing.
When Rhys came along 11 years later he was a miracle baby, Araminta wasn't suppose to have anymore kids, but Cressida made sure to be around him as much as she could during the holidays and summer time, never leaving him out or showing him anything bad. She loved her brother dearly and wanted him to turn out nothing like Jasper or even herself. She tried to be the perfect big sister for him.

- ♦♦Cressida grew up with a stingy and strict mother, Cress wasn't allowed to do anything, as she grew up she realized she could sneak out like her brother Jasper did, she learned from the best. Unlike Jasper though who was going off to fool around with muggle girls, Cressida went into the forest around her house and just wanted peace and quiet. She learned at a young age it was easy to pit her mother and father against each other to get out of trouble, she learned the ways of manipulation, even Jasper had been impressed by her skills in it. Her parents found out and tried to tighten the rules, but Cressida would stay out all night, sometimes days in the forest able to fend for herself until Jasper talked with their parents.
Araminta realized Cressida would never be that beautiful prim little girl that she had wanted, and she finally gave up on trying to get her ready for the adult world of balls and formal parties in the rich world. Cressida was more then happy with that, but she took into consideration of what her mother wanted for her now that she had as much free reign as she wanted. Cress kept her hair long for many years, she had dressed and fashionable things galore. Her mother always disapproved of the style of course, she was a rocker at heart, she loved the edgier styling of clothes, so much so that Jasper was often the one buying her the clothes seeing as Cressida hated shopping.
When Cressida got her letter her mother was thrilled to send her off to school and get the girl out of her hair, Cressida got into Slytherin easily taking after the rest of her family proudly. She did all her classes passing all of them with at least E's, when Sixth year came along she made her decision to be a Hit witch for the ministry and told Professor Snape, and he assigned her the same classes that you would as if you were going to be an Auror. It was good since she enjoyed all her classes but Charms, but she was determined to pass everything with an O so that she could get the job she wanted.
When Cressida talked to her parents about shaving the side of her head, her mother fainted in an overly dramatic way to 'shock' Cressida out of her decision. It didn't work of course and while her mother grew livid and yelled for days, it was her father who eventually talked to Araminta and explained that it was her life and she should be able to do what she wanted now that she was of age and in her last year. So Cressida shaved the side of her head, keeping the other part of it long to appease her mother in a way and boy did she feel liberated!
