Lex decided to go ahead and check out that dragon corpse again, Regal summoned and locked to fire. Going alone was dangerous, he knew that.
The FEAR scanner went off as soon as he entered the mouth, a crown hanging from a razor sharp tooth dulled by wind and time. He picked up the headpiece and stuck it under his arm, continuing deeper.

Nothing in the back of the mouth where the tongue would have been. He heard a small crack and whipped around, but saw nothing. Hrmm.

Again, nothing. He was in the throat region now, where he didn't really expect to find anything in the first place... less this dragon choked to death.

Still in the neck, there was still nothing to be picked up by the scanner. There were so many tales of dragons devouring things, he'd thought there would be more FEAR dense artifacts around. God, this was awful.

Lex sat down for a second, wiping his brow and taking a small sip of water from the canteen he'd picked up at the base camp. Dragons made for quite the desert hike.

Lex had begun to make the trek again, still nothing to be found. Rubies, sapphires, and emeralds all coated the bones around him, nothing giving off an aura.

Lex was at the chest now, Regal still cajoling him as he was unable to find a single thing drenched in FEAR.

He sat down again, head in his hands. Where on earth could all these artifacts be? This was starting to give Lex a headache.
