[COMPLETED] Scavenging Team Sentai Heroes Go! (Lex + Dillon)

[Carhop Cavalier]

Oh good, more scavenging. Lex had found a Mist trainee wandering around and pulled him aside, charming his way into getting a little helper for the next task of scavenging. They'd be searching for weapons tablets, apparently.

"So basically, turn over every damn stone. FEAR sensors will probably help us out too." A small pause, a shake of the head, then he was back to all smiles and charisma. "And remember, don't die!"  

[Zyphiris]

It was a grim task at hand. Dillon made his preparations solemnly, much in contrast to his superior who had dragged him over for the mission.

"Right." he responded unenthusiastically, turning on his FEAR sensor and began trekking towards the tower ruins. What was up with all the chipper hunters he'd been paired with so far?

The evidence was all around them. Dillon grimaced at the bloodstains on the stone - they were still visible and somewhat fresh. A glance was cast at Lex as he summoned Inez.

"Did they say what happened here?"  

[Carhop Cavalier]

"They were extremely vague, if they said anything. But, I feel like we can infer what's happened." Lex replied, smile fading slightly. Weapons tablets hidden around the sand, fresh looking bloodstains, FEAR drenched objects... there had been a war. He didn't know the type of war, but it was bad enough to leave a lasting impression on this desert.

"We should try and get this done quickly. You never know when something can pop up." He summoned Regal, scanning the area around them. Sand, and rocks. This could take quite a while...  

[Zyphiris]

Weapon tablets ... were probably found near the dead.

Dillon traced the bloodstains on the ground, using his foot to turn over stray rocks and keeping his eyes peeled for any sign of them. He would instead find less savoury remains - battered skulls and shattered bones... he was starting to feel a little sick.

<It's not your eyes you should use, idiot. Check your FEAR sensor>

Right.

"Found anything?" he called to Lex.  

[Carhop Cavalier]

"Nothing!" Lex called back, small frown tugging at his face. Sand continued to brush up against his skin, tearing away microscopic particles of skin and leaving him red. His FEAR scanner wasn't beeping at all, only picking up the ambient FEAR of the area.

< Should have brought a hood, and a water bottle. Will you ever be prepared, whelp? >

<< Probably not. >>

"Keep looking! They're bound to be around her!"  

[Zyphiris]

<Look at the two of you trying so hard.>

Dillon snorted and waved the FEAR sensor around, hoping to pick up something.

"Has another team been here before?" Well. This was starting to take a while.

His boot crunched on something, but he knew better than to look down.  

[Carhop Cavalier]

"Can't say for certain." Lex crunched through the sand, FEAR scanner sweeping through the area in front of him as he went along.  

[Zyphiris]

"You know, we might just be s**t at this."

<Bingo.>  

[Carhop Cavalier]

"Well, I guess you could say that." Lex admitted, chuckling a little. "Maybe our luck will turn around?"

< Doubt it. >  

[Zyphiris]

"They did say to bring back at least one?"

Dillon turned to look at Lex meaningfully.

 

[Carhop Cavalier]

"Two." Lex sighed, rolling his eyes in frustration. "Two tablets." He shook his head, pinching the bridge of his nose.  

[Zyphiris]

The FEAR sensor was still not picking up anything. Dillon paced on, brushing aside sand and rubble with his boots. More skulls. No tablet yet.  

[Carhop Cavalier]

Lex kicked a stray skull far ahead of him, moving his scarf over his face and groaning.

< You really suck. >

<< I know. >>  

[Zyphiris]

Dillon stared at Lex, a little affronted by the apparent disrespect for the dead. The mist trainee bowed his head in silent prayer -

and then kicked the skull back towards Lex.

It was awful of them but, hey.

Lex totally would have had respect for the dead, but this could be a Horseman skull. He'd just pretend it was a horseman's skull.

He kicked it back to Dillon, but ended up missing and hitting a small stone sitting atop a ruined wall, knocking it down and cracking the skull even more than the harsh terrain already had. His FEAR scanner went off as soon as it hit the ground, and Lex ran over to check.

"Yes! We finally got one!" He cheered, holding it aloft like a trophy.
