Following the loss of important field equipment (due to incident), Mimsy had cleverly attempted to distract the team representative in charge of their scavenging efforts in hopes of getting out of trouble. After handing the Hunter the single FEAR detector that remained between the two of them, she began to describe each of the objects they had found at length, including all of her theories about every single one. It became so tiring by the second item that they pawned her off on another team, who were aptly charged with dealing with Insanity.

She didn't argue or attempt to switch back, largely because she wanted to allow for some time to pass before requesting FEAR detectors again. This was also an effective method of locating Shu, and it involved less expensive equipment to 'lose' along the way. It was an improvement on all counts.

Her right arm curled around Robert's left, leaving both of their dominant hands free for combat if it became immediately necessary, and she glanced up at him and frowned as they turned to leave the temporary camp.

"It is better to search for her rather than opting to remain in one location, correct?" The strict orders to avoid idling were irrelevant when Shu's safety was concerned, and if he thought that it was better to wait, she trusted him. This was much more his area of expertise than hers.

Overheated desert or not, Robert looked pleased to be arm in arm with his wife, searching for their little Shu. The question made him stop craning his head in search, turning it instead to focus on Mimsy. "I think so. I don't know much about how these things work but sticking around in one place sounds worse. What if she's hurt or something, out there waiting for us to come find her? Nah, this is for the best."

Little did he know, Shu was not quite hurt but still needed them to find her. So for once, Robert was a little bit right. He turned back to start looking, and saw a glimmer of light in the distance.

"I think I see something. Let's go check down there," He picked up a compass hanging from his belt. "Uhhh, northeast." There was no reason to know what direction they were going to search in, as long as they knew which way was back to the camp - but he liked looking at the compass and stating what direction they were going. It was his new favorite little toy.

The glimmer of light turned out to be Shu after all, and as soon as it was obvious, Robert started to jog forward. He picked the girl up from behind and bounced her once in his free arm. "Found you!"

Robert's newfound affinity for the compass was tremendously endearing to Mimsy, and she stifled a giggle and looked away from him as he pointed out the way for them to go.

"Northeast it is!" His enthusiasm to use the navigational tool was reason enough for her to want to encourage it, so she pat him on the arm and mustered a cheerful smile for him. This sort of field work was nauseating on its own, and she wanted to just find Shu and go home, but creating something new out of the mission - something that was theirs alone - made it worthwhile. It fooled her into believing that this was something that she wanted to do, at least until the illusion began to wear off again.

They were fortunate to avoid running into any Insanity creatures as they walked in a specifically northeast direction, and managed to continue to avoid them entirely until they came across something much better.

"Shu," she called out, hurrying after Robert to greet her. While he scooped Shu up, she leaned in to give her a very quick little hug, followed by a small smile that was more lasting than the hug had been.

"Hello. Are you all right?" Frowning, she shielded her eyes from the sun with her hand and searched nearby for any sign of other Hunters. "Are...were you alone out here?"
