Gathering up the daggers without even being asked Cami walked off after dousing her head in water, toweling it off, and grabbing some kind of power-bar to satiate her growling stomach. "Haaaaanna~ Hanna Nowiiiiicki~" She called out, left and right, looking for her dear Death friend. "I have a mission of utmost importance that requires someone of your lofted intelligence so I don't, and I quote, '******** things up horribly'." Which was more true than anyone realized. Cami was so tired that her eyes were just a little glassy, smile just a little vague, and she was holding daggers that were supposed to keep them safe. Quote: They are asked to travel to all the strange sites of ruins, from large pillars to towers, to strange columns and statues faded away and place barrier daggers at various locations as well as check the progress of them. Roll 1d6. If you roll a 1 you found a location to place a dagger if you roll a 6 you found a location to check in on. You will need to do 2 of each for your entire group and then the quest is COMPLETED.

Hanna was leaning against of the pole of the tents -- seats were hard to come by -- pouring water down the neck of her shirt. She sipped the last drops and then put it back to be refilled. Like Cami, she was also eating and had just taken a bite when she turned to face the Sun Hunter's voice. The other girl was holding barrier daggers, which could only mean... "Jesus, they must really want us to be a dynamic duo," she said, grinning and grabbing a couple daggers. The rest of her power bar was stuffed in a pocket for later use. "Or maybe it just has to do with the fact we both got out of the pod on the same day. Some statistical thing. Like our names are on a list right after the other." Shouldering the supplies, Hanna began walking with Cami, the muscles in her legs taut from the series of tasks she had already completed. "I am more than happy to lend something other than muscle, since I have no muscle -- unless you count yourself in the bodyguard sense." Cami had, after all, kicked Hanna's a** on her first day out of the pod. MEMORIES. Also, Hanna was doing barrier task stuff. She glanced down at a small notepad where she had jotted down the instructions of where they should visit. Up ahead, she spotted a tower that had been described. "Up here," she said, pointing to where a planted dagger flashed in the sand. "This is one check-in." Hanna made a note in her little pad, happy to feel effective again. 1/2 locations checked!

Hanna's explanation made sense but then, to be fair, almost everything Hanna ever said made sense. She was perfectly full of sense in the way that Cam herself was absolutely not which meant, logically, they were a good team. "I think it's also because you are perfectly grounded and I am absolutely not. You have the mental divisions, Life and Death. I don't think the higher-ups of them think very highly of us physical Sun and Moon types. So if they pair us together there's a chance that one of us will manage to complete a task properly." Her lips curved at the humor of her hypothetical. "Guess which one they're betting on?" Honestly it was the best reasoning for slacking off that Cami'd ever heard. Not usually a slacker she nonetheless wasn't looking very hard for where they were supposed to be. She'd done this task twice already and, while it was easy, it was hot and mind-melting with how simple it could be. "I really wonder what happened here."

Hanna laughed at Cami's explanation, but secretly, she did agree. The Death Hunter brought something with her head more than her body. It's probably one of the reasons she felt so relieved every time she was paired with a Sun, specifically. The little pad of paper was damp from her sweaty hand. The pages had begun to curl and the ink smeared a bit. "I was talking theories with Jack about that, actually," she said, tucking the pen back into her coat and traipsing toward what she thought could be the next location. "I haven't spotted any human skulls. So this feels like a clash between Halloween that doesn't necessarily directly involve us. Everything about this smacks of a flash mission -- grab what we can to study and go. So whatever happened, we knew about it, and now we are here to gain intel and head back out. Why else would there be so much scavenging, with a touch of protection, and then a group of people watching our backs?"

Finding nothing worth mentioning, lagging a bit under the sun with her exhaustion, she nodded a bit at Hanna's observation. "That tower was pretty gnarly though, back where we were finding tablets. I mean Evan and I only found like, one, but there seemed to be more than that piled up." She was frowning a bit at the thought, kicking it around in her head. "I didn't even know Halloween fought itself. That makes sense I suppose. They're not all the same and so the different factions would fight each other." Hands tucked into the pockets of her jacket she tried not to look too directly at the sand. It was blinding. "Surprised Deus doesn't do that but I suppose there aren't enough of us to get like that." Remembering what Taym said about murderers and traitors Cami couldn't help, for just a moment, letting herself wonder if that it wasn't that Deus didn't fight. It was just that they didn't fight openly.

Hanna shrugged. "Deus is a job. Being born as they are is fate. They have more room to question things, I think. We all made a choice. It's different." At least, it was to her.

Chucking the dagger down into the sand where they were supposed to she nodded complacently even as her mind churned it out. Some people had reported being tricked into coming to Deus. Had everyone really gotten to make a choice or were some of them less allowed to choose than others? Not everyone had had her experience. "That's true, I suppose. I forget more and more that it's just a job because this is...well." Hands waved, taking in their surroundings. "We don't even get hazard pay!" 1/2 locations checked!

"And that doesn't bother you?" Idly Cami kicked at the sand, making sure she was downwind of Hanna as she did so. "It kinda bothers me but then, I've always been a bit liberal."

"It bothers me, sure," she said, examining the map a bit closer, "but what else should I expect? I signed up for this thing without really knowing what it was. Why should I expect them to divulge now when they didn't care to mention the bit about changing the fabric of my being, dying as far as my family is concerned, and being treated as expendable for eternity? Par for the course."

More things added as truth to Taym's preachings. It bothered Cami that somehow she'd known more than others coming into Deus, that she'd known what to expect because she'd been in the middle of it. "That always bothers me that some tell people what they are getting in for and some don't. I knew what I was leaving behind, I knew what I was getting into. Somewhat." She glanced around, sighing at the empty expanse of desert. "I never thought about this though."

Finding what she thought was the point on the map they'd been heading towards she chucked a dagger into the sand with a long sigh. "One day I'll be as sure of things as you are. It'll be a nice change." 1/2 locations checked!
