After nearly dying at the hands of a mob, Hanna was happy to get a quick assignment back on scavenging duty. She had only been a back up for an injured Sun on Dispatch Team, but her performance left something to be desired. At least she could be where she felt comfortable -- gathering information in a more low-key environment. Still intriguing, just less painful!
It was a little eerie being set out on her own. Other hunters were searching on their own on the other side of the crater, but if something decided to suddenly appear and attack, they would have quite a run before they reached her. Yikes. Swallowing down the image, Hanna aimed her Fear detector at a mass of junk and began walking, wondering what she might find. It had been interesting with Cami to see the variety of things Fear clung to -- what about those objects attracted it? Or was it truly random?
It was a good mental exercise for an otherwise menial activity.

Many dark and mysterious things are familiar to me. I have lived many lives and experienced many things. Why once I was--

There was a pregnant pause, and then -- No. My memories are like yours from the pod -- foggy, confusing, missing.

Hanna stopped walking and squatted down in the dirt, trying to arrange the array of skulls from smallest to largest. She didn't care that her gloves were getting stained in the process, apparently.

Hanna eyed the gathered debris, the massive crater. What had once stood here? And was it something so bad that it had to be obliterated in this way?

Something about sorting through the trash reminded her of searching for seashells with her mother at the beach when she was young. That was before they had grown apart, before her mother refused to entertain her daughter's delusions about other worlds and that such nonsense. Hanna smashed a Fear-less skull. Tried to at least. It kind of just resulted in her foot awkwardly deflecting off it.

Her skull castle was not yielding any results, just memories that made her a mix of sad and angry that she did love, and so Hanna stood back up and traced closer to the edge.

Hanna noted that this scene was different from what she encountered at the tower. The bloodstains were missing. This didn't seem to be a battle like the other site had. Perhaps it was a raid? Perhaps the skulls around her were those who were caught unaware when the blast came down? It might explain the jewelry and other random object debris, at least.

A pair of long necklaces got tangled around her ankles. She sat on a skull to pull them off.

The Fear detector was sweaty in her palm as she scanned the area, brain happy in many ways to be alone. Hanna enjoyed stopping to think things out, and it wasn't like this particular task took a lot of focus. The machine would tell her when it had found the object.

Across the way, another group of Hunters let out a celebratory whoop when they found an item. Hanna sneered. She'd already done this once, okay. She had nothing to prove. (She always had something to prove.)

A pair of bones at her feet were what appeared to be hands, holding on to one another. Hanna frowned. Were these things reaching out in love or to attack? Both scenarios were curious to her and grew curiouser as the Fear detector went off. She set it down on the ground, took out a bag, and gingerly squished the amputated, interlocked skeletal hands inside.
"Now you can be together forever or whatever," she murmured, attaching it to her belt.
