Marcus had a deep growing loathing for all things under the sun. His skin and body already felt hot and his eyes had already begun the first wave of 'it too bright why are we even here'.

Grumping as he led the 'team' Dis was reminding him that it was what he'd wanted. What they'd wanted, to lead, and so in total? Marcus was grumpy, but he was mostly keeping his displeasure to himself. Misery loved company but Marcus wasn't a big fan of it.

"So, Moon, Sun, Life- A death would have been good but eh, what can you do?" Pulling out the FEAR scanner he motioned to one large carcass of something that vaguely resembled a dead three eyed dragon. "Why don't we start here." Sword out Marcus was the first to enter the carcass that very nearly acted like a cave. Inside was littered with other remains and various trinkets. Odd for a gaint dragon but hey, Marcus had seen weirder. "I'll take point, Chell right? Care to take the rear?"

Going inside an ancient, maybe dead dragon carapace? Sure, why not. Everything around them seemed dead enough to be actually dead, but you could never be quite sure when dealing with FEAR. For all they knew, this thing could just be a sleeping skeleton dragon. But, then again, their FEAR readers would be going off the charts.

He gave an amused puff at Chel, shaking his head. "That's a highly reactive helmet you've got there, Chel. May want to take it off."

Marcus snorted, shaking his head at the trainee's antics. "Alright Thor, but how about we not put things with high levels of FEAR near the part we need right now?" He tapped his head with his finger, Dis laughing.

Oh that's rich. You have me in your head.
And that's just where you will remain.
For now. The vampire purred.

Marcus didn't want to think about what he was implying.

His own scanner pinged loudly once and Marcus glared at the lack of a constant signal. "Forgot, did any of you bring any water?" He hadn't brought one and wanted to kick himself for it.

Lex snorted and shrugged, turning to Marcus instead. "Nope, no water. Not even a juice pouch. I'm sure we'll be fine... if we make this quick."

Though, that would be hard with no real indicator of what to point their devices at. Apparently gemstones larger than his head didn't give off enough FEAR, but Chel's helmet did.

Logic.

The call that Kylee had found something prompted Marcus to look back giving the trainee a thumbs up. "Keep it up, we'll grab a few more and head back. With no water and this heat we shouldn't stay from the base longer than an hour or two- While yeah we might not die from dehydration, the last thing we need is someone to get heat stroke or even fatigued. We don't know for sure what's still out here."

He flipped over a set of ribs with Dis, smirking as the vampire hissed at being used for 'digging'. There was no signal, and in part Marcus was glad for it. Last thing they needed was there to be a sudden charge or high insurgency of FEAR around them.

Or a sudden drop in ambient FEAR.

Oh no worries there my Marcus. Dis's voice was echoing in his head as if he had gone off a distance.
The air is ripe yet not enough to have any significant change. If you like I could taste a few trinkets, tell you how they... relate on a scale? Marcus frowned, flicking over a large gemstone with the scimitar.

Nothing but flickers and fading tastes. Try further in.

"Dis says there might be more infused items further into this skeleton- apparently here it's mostly faded."

Lex chuckled a little, kicking the skull of some mutated deer thing back at Chel. "Not often, but there's always the potential for said dragon hoard to be some sort of death trap." He joked, scanning the area farther in with his machine.

A sudden DING! alerted him to a toy hammer, oddly out of place. He tossed it to Chel too, grinning now. "And now you're really Thor. Let's head on back and deliver these things before Marcus has a heat stroke."
