Work work work. It had been nice to sit down for a bit but she was off again. At least things had progressed to a point that she wasn't being randomly flung face-first at whomever they could wrangle into pairs. Cami could now walk safely through the camp looking for her friends. Looking for the other of her two blond darlings as she'd let Otto go do whatever grumpy thing he wanted to do which was probably go pound another bug into goo. Cami was looking to fetch her special weapon to go scavenge some more stuff out of the tower. The sand was a bit hot this time of day and she did not want to go anywhere near that damned crater. Better to gather up the tablets of the fallen rather than that. "Maebe baby, you ready to team up again?" Quote: When you are ready, have your team start searching by rolling 1d10. There are lots of unusual shaped fossils to encounter, mostly blackened masses with mutated skulls, but none of them radiate Fear. If you roll a 10, you encounter a weapons tablet to bring back. When a 10 has been rolled 2 times your lime limit is up and you can head back. The quest is considered COMPLETED.

Most of Maebe's time was considered a break, so when she heard Cami's call, she was more than ready. She hooked an arm around the girl, and pulled her around to give her a tight squeeze. "It would be an absolute pleasure to work with you, Cami." She just followed whatever the girl did, picking up a scavenging weapon. "So, these things are going to find tablets. Not more bugs. Right?" If the answer was no, she was going to put the scanner right back down where she found it. The scanner was turned on, and instantly beeped to indicate that it was working - then fell silent. Because clearly, there were no fallen tablets right at their feet.

"Right." Cami was quick to reassure the other girl of that immediately. She'd had enough to do with creepy-crawlies for the day, for the week, maybe even for the month. Not forever because she knew better than to get her hopes up but...damn. No more goo! "This is about as easy as it gets. Lots of places to stay out of the sun, no bugs, away from the crater." Their hips bumped playfully. "I know not to take you on a crappy date." Her scanner was silent, blessedly, because she didn't really want to go back. Cami was worn out, wanting to do nothing more than go home and fall-face first into bed. After a shower. "Have you ever been on a mission like this before?" Aka: Are they always this long?

"I've never really been out on a real mission." She answered truthfully. "Unless you count one that was just me and Taym, which just ended up getting me almost killed. Other than that, I don't know, this is just as new to me as it is to you." She was not embarrassed to admit it. In fact, Maebe's record for avoiding danger was a point of pride, for her. Her detector read absolutely nothing as she trudged through the sand. "But I hear a lot of stories about these big bugs. Everyone seems to have fought with them." She flickered a side glance at the girl. "And for the record, any date with you wouldn't be crappy."

Nodding, not aware of how long Maebe had been on the island and that her record of Almost No Missions would have been supposedly shameful, she just took the information at face value. "That's what has me worried. Missions don't usually go well and I suppose this one is dangerous or something?" Again eyes strayed to the direction of the crater. "Was dangerous, I suppose. That's why we're here now." Her detector got warm but didn't actually hit on anything, leaving them to shuffle through more ruins. More stones. "The bugs are the worst. Never going to be able to look at a millipede again. You did a rather bangup job with that big roachie though. Sure you don't want to run away and be a Sun?" Cami was going to recruit her. She was determined. Hooking an arm through Maebe's she smiled. "I love the vote of date-confidence though. I had a string of utter bummers before hitting the island." And then even still after hitting the island until Maebe broke her dry spell.

"All missions are dangerous. And the ones that aren't, are probably the most dangerous. Because anyone who's telling you how much danger you're in, is probably lying." She'd learned that the hard way.
She loved being reminded of how well she'd done earlier, but the idea of being a Sun did not intrigue her. "I think that was probably a one hit wonder. I don't see myself in the front lines of battle anytime soon. I've actually been considering Death." She shrugged. "More my style."
Her detector stayed silent, but Cami's arm around hers had her attention anyway. "Maybe I'll make up for what you were missing, some time." She leaned in and kissed the girl right on the tip of her nose.

Death? DEATH?! Well, Hanna was Death, Otto had been Death, Shu was Death. Lots and lots of people that Cami liked were in death but there was also their lead who wasn't nearly as nice as the anime-obsessed duo that headed Sun. Though wasn't Mark a Death assist? Shrugging slightly she kept her grip on the blonde. "You can think what you want but I think you have potential. You can be one of our many, varied, nakama. Imagine all those hugs!" Now she was just teasing Maebe because she could, because her damned sensor wasn't doing anything useful. Leaning in to lightly kiss Maebe, Cami couldn't help but grin. "You've been doing plenty to make up for that dry spell, Maebe baby. I wouldn't say no to a bit more April showers though. They're always refreshing."

"I like the hugs I already get." She remarked truthfully, sliding her hand lower than was proper, and squeezing the assets worth hugging. But nothing was going to convince Maebe to put herself on the line. In fact, she would prefer if Cami and Otto weren't Sun, either.
"Maybe you should come join Death. I hear they have a better health plan."
But soon enough, Cami had the girls mind off of darker things, and onto April showers, of which she could have really used at the moment. Both literal, and metaphorical.

For a moment Cami was just a little taken aback by the suggestion. Was Maebe actually being...concerned? Legitimately? Cautiously she absorbed the thought, decided she was going to take what Maebe was saying as genuine, and continued to think on it. With the rare exception of being set on fire, which had not been division-specific, she enjoyed being a Sun. Enjoyed the rigorous physical work. Enjoyed the way it made her a** and her abs look. Evan's words about the longevity of Sun hunters, however, came back to strike her at that exact moment. "Yeah, I hear just about everyone has a better health plan than Sun. Except maybe Mist. I don't think I've even met someone from Mist yet." It was trying to bring a little bit of levity to the moment and it fell flat. Thankfully Maebe was squeezing her inappropriately (thank God) and Cami had to get one back in return. Tablets were forgotten, momentarily.

"I've met some Mists. They're kind of wishy washy." Maebe's hand stayed right where it was. "Your curves are so delicious. I mean, I think I'm hot, but your body feels so good in my hands." Tablets? What tablets? Her detector wasn't going off anyway, so she was left to pay full attention to how firm and squeezable Cami's a** was. She was just so distracting. "I wish we were back home." Maebe admitted quietly. Her hands wandered up to Cami's other curves, simply admiring how they felt. Mapping her body with touch. She tried to stop, patting Cami's hips fondly. "We'll pick this back up when we get there."

They were going to be in these bloody ruins pretty much forever since neither scanner seemed keen on finding a weapon's tablet and both girls were too busy staring at each other to do much digging through rubble to do it the old-fashioned way. For more reasons than just being tucked warm and willing against Maebe did Cami want to be home but, really, it was one of the better reasons. Fingers skimmed to enjoy the unusual feeling of Maebe in pants, returning squeeze for squeeze. "I like this look on you. Not that I'm not very fond of your skirts for lots of reasons but it's an interesting feeling." Interesting enough that she was pulling the blonde a little bit closer to do something clever and just a little R-rated to the soft spot beneath the Moon's ear. "And you are hot, Maebe baby, you're almost worse than the sun beating down on me." The tap was clear that, for now, the other girl was done. Sighing with reluctance the redhead went back to searching the area. "Maybe they got all the tablets already."

Heat managed to incite the moment, forcing detectors to fall to the wayside as both hands focused on exploration of a different kind. Cami intoxicated her both physically, and narcissistically, as she fed Maebe the compliments that fueled her. "I'm not big on pants. Too restricting. Right now, your hands could already be where I need them, and they're not. Pants. But in the case of the desert, I admit that sand would have ended up there too. So. Necessary evil. Glad you approve, though." Cami was enticing her, and then pulling away, leaving her unsatisfied. She attempted to go searching, but Maebe never let her go. She pulled Cami right back and wrapped an arm around the back of her neck, pulling her down forcefully into a kiss. Her tongue was the only thing searching, now.

Nothing was ever going to get done this way and Cami was quite alright with that. She was more than happy to indulge Maebe for almost as long as Maebe wanted. Certainly her hands wandered now beneath the Moon trainee's coat, beneath her shirt, so that nails could dig lightly into the base of the blonde's spine. Cami was generally all sweetness and light but she knew how to please, tried deeply to please, and could play almost any role needed for those she cared enough about to play to. Maebe was one she would have set an entire stage production for, if required. Searching for tablets was abandoned as the dark-skinned girl searched only for a reaction from her partner, pulling her into the shade of the ruins, heedless of the blood beneath the soles of her shoes. If there was even a weapon's tablet nearby, and the idly beeping machine was encouraging them to look just a little harder, they weren't going to find it. All they were finding now was each other.

Cami was giving in. Maebe was ready. Sweet flirtations turned to hungry desperation when she was pulled into the shade, and her hands were already sliding against the edges of Cami's pants, looking for a way in. Any way in. She wasn't waiting for some gentle moment, she was about to take her right in the middle of the Sahara and - "Beep." And - "Beep. Beep. Beep." ... And - "BEEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP." "Son of a b***h." Maebe growled against Cami's lips, which she'd already been assaulting with heated kisses. She stopped, just enough to look down at the detector in her hand, and pointed it right below the two. "... tada." She did not sound excited.

Cami 'giving in' was hardly ever a process that took more than ten minutes of focused attention at the very worst. Well, no. Perhaps there was a potential fifteen, horrible twenty, somewhere in the realm of possibility but it had not yet occurred in Maebe's world and thus it was never seemingly difficult. The only reason it had taken this long, really, was because growing up on an island had afforded the Sun trainee the exact knowledge of what sand in intimate places felt like. It wasn't good. She was willing to risk it when the sensors went wild. Maebe growled which was sexy enough to have her wanting to ignore it, when her own went wild. "Are you kidding me?" Squatting down, a thousand percent aware of what was two inches away from her nose, she dug through the rubble to find two weapons tablets perhaps a foot apart. "You're not kidding me." Incredulity widened Cami's eyes before she suddenly fell a**-first onto the pile she'd just disturbed, laughing hysterically. "Oh my God I've been cockblocked by weapons tablets. That's never happened before!" Nonetheless she hefted them both, handed one to Maebe, and leaned in for a kiss ripe with promise. "Well, it seems we're due back, Maebe baby. I'm going to take a rain check....and cash in as soon as possible."
