After my nap following the Arboa hunting, I decided I was ready to go hunting the Magbits. I think the ones that I want are the mother magbits, because I want the fluffy stuff to cushion whatever I put into my pack. I’ve also heard that their fluff is water resistant. Hopefully that will help when I get my pack enchanted to resist water. So I will probably need to hunt down two or three mothers for their fluff to cover the inside of my pack. I stretched and moved my water bubble onto my back and moved out to go hunting for some magbits.

I decided to follow the streams and look for an open glade for targets. That would most likely be the easiest way to find the Magbits. So I walked in the sun warmed water as I followed the stream as it wandered through the trees. After a couple miles, the stream finally meandered its way through a wide glade filled with grass and small creatures. Well, small compared to me at least. I stood in the shallow stream and thought about how to go through and get the creatures I want without having to go find a different glade. Thinking about it, it seems that I’m going to have to use water to smother the noise, because the thought of me being able to sneak quietly through the plants is hilarious. So I looked without moving for a target creature to see how my attack will work. I spotted a Magbit mother and her Bitter drinking from the stream a little ways in, under a tree. I reached out with my magic and manipulated the water they were drinking. The stream jumped on them and I focused on using it to bind their limbs and creating a water bubble around their heads. I held on until their bodies stopped moving before moving to where their dead bodies lay.

I examined the child first. It had no fur that was worth the effort of removal, so I swallowed it whole as an appetizer so that I could focus on getting the fur off of its mother. Examining the mother Magbit, I tried to figure out the easiest way to get the fluff off. It would probably be easiest to remove the head and peel the skin off the skull. Removing the head, and eating the body in a couple of bites, I worked on getting the fluff off as intact as possible. After the removal, I eat the head and looked at the fluff in my claws. I would need more, maybe two or three more. I looked out into the glade, but couldn’t see a big enough group. The sun was setting and clouds were rolling in. Placing the fluff in my makeshift pack next to my water bubble, I moved away from the glade. I would need to look for the Magbits from air, and that required me to take off. Looking into the air, I saw the clouds come rolling in, good, dark was falling so I would be able to ignore the sight of the ground and focus on movement only. I really need to get over my fear of heights, it is very inconvenient. Oh well, I sighed as I waited for night to fall, at least I know how to get around it. I just have to not be able to see the ground, simple right? How pathetic….. I guess I have to have some faults, Imoogi said to himself, if I didn’t I’d be too perfect for this world, Chuckling to himself, Imoogi Launched himself above the trees into the last light of the sun.

I floated on the evening drafts doing my best to focus on movement below and not the ground. The clouds were rolling in and I hoped to spot my prey before the sound fully went down. I was a water hunter and needed the help of the sun to catch the land prey. I finally spotted a pair of Mother Magbits. Good, just what I was looking for, two creatures that can provide me with fluff for my backpack and no children to worry about catching either. I made sure that my current makeshift pack and water bubble were secure and prepared to dive. Straight at the ground. Crap, don’t think, don’t think, just do it. Dive damn it. I angled myself, and went into a dive, trying to ignore the fact that a bunch of rock was rushing up to meet me very quickly. I hate diving over land, I really really do. My sucky dive is probably why I missed killing both of them in one shot. I flinched as I came rushing up to the ground and they both dodged out of the way of my claws that were more braced for impact then killing. I stumbled into a very clumsy run instead of crashing into the ground thankfully, but I wasn’t certainly going to win any prizes for gracefulness. I turned on my feet and charged after the two Magbits. This was going to be a long chase, I hate running. I hate being on ground period. As I crashed through trees after the two creatures, I grumbled to myself. “This is the last time I go hunting in land by myself, next time I’ll get someone else to do it and I’ll stay in the water….Stupid trees are in the way…” I smashed several small trees into splinters as the Magbits went around the trees and I went through them. As they turned again around rocks, I jumped the rocks and stopped abruptly. They had split, drat. Now I would only get one. I dove off the rocks and went after the Magbit mother that had gone to the right as it was a tiny bit closer than the other one. After destroying some more trees, I finally managed to get close enough to swipe at its feet. My claws just barely managed to snag its hind foot and I tore it off. The Magbit went crashing into a tree trunk, and I slowed down, tossing the separated limb into my mouth as I closed in on the wounded creature. I snapped its neck off to kill it. Sighing at the fact that I only caught one of them, I sat down to remove the fluff that I wanted and catch my breath. I was sore on my shoulders where I had smashed into trees. Looking back, I could clearly see my path. There was a huge path of shred plants, wrecked trees and overturned earth. Munching on the body, I was thinking about whether I should try to get another Magbit mother when I heard a sound that shouldn’t be out here in the wild. Someone had just called a name. I paused sat up and listened hard. There it was again. Someone had just repeated themselves…and they were calling out something else. Sitting completely still I strained my waiting to hear more. Then a breeze carried the sound clearly to me, “I wanna go home…….I wanna go hooome…” It sounded like a Khehora, probably a younger one, especially if it got lost. Well, maybe it knows of a crafter who could make my pack, and it really shouldn’t be outside alone if it is young enough to be crying for home. The parents are probably worried, I’ll just look after it until they arrive.
