One of the tasks at hand was to hunt around the strange monuments for FEAR faced items, and while it didn't sound life threatening Jason was sure it would be. None the less he took the fear detector and, adjusting the heavy duty goggles with his shaky hands, walked out into the blazing hot sunlight.
The tall pillars and deep crevices were of course creepy, but he did his best to ignore them and get on with the mission at hand. The faster he did this the sooner he could retreat.

Bending down near a pile of sand, Jason began to sort through it as he thought there might be something here.He was so very glad he had worn his gloves today, as he could feel the heat of the sand as he dug through it in search of...something. He had no idea what he was supposed to look for. But the fear detector wasn't picking up anything so he stood up and moved away.

There didn't appear to be anything here either. Except more sand and creepy pillar things. Looking at one Jason shuddered and quickly moved away from it. The feeling of dread hadn't subsided either which made everything all the more creepy.

Jason knew he was going to have sand in places he didn't know existed. And it was going to be a pain to get it all out. Especially in his boots, he'd probably take half the desert back with him.

"O-o-oohhh..."
And then he found the skulls. The black masses of bones had been hard to see properly from a distance but when he got up close he whimpered, backing away slowly as if they would come to life right in front of them. When they didn't, he edged closer to them and held out the fear scanner.
Nothing.
"W-why do I have to do this.." he whined to no one and kept going.

What freaked him out the most was not knowing exactly what they were. Halloween generally didn't leave bones behind, according to Zanth.
Did that mean that these skulls were...
He began to run at that point, but soon stopped as the sand made it hard to move faster then a shuffle.

Jason decided to move closer to the crater to see what was inside, and when he saw nothing but a black abyss he ran away from it.

It was hard to know which to search more of, the crater, or the black masses of bones.
He didn't want to be near either.

For all the weird and creepy objects out here, he was finding it hard to pick up any trace of fear.

He hoped the fear detector wasn't broken, because that would such for a hole number of reason.
One being he wouldn't know if a actual fear based threat was sneaking up on him or not.
