"So, ruins, sand ... who wants to bet sudden and terrible death is also out there?" He looked over at Arland and the other trainee since they'd all managed to get lumped into one group that was getting shoved out to do their leaders dirty work. At least, so far, nothing looked more dangerous than a typical day. There weren't giant creatures crawling all over the landscape, no one had gotten eaten in sight of the tents yet. Worst danger seemed to be falling into the pit or the occasional insanity monster. He poked at the FEAR detector for a moment before a thought occurred to him. He mentally started counting ....

"Right... How about we try to avoid the sudden death this time?" His brow lofted slightly as he pulled his hair back, fingers running through strands that still felt so strange now that they weren't dreaded, securing everything off of his neck with another brightly colored, likely borrowed scrunchie. "So we just take these things... And scan around like we're looking for hidden treasure on the beach?"

"Seems to be the case! I swear, enough time around here and I could build an -actual- utility belt with some of the gear we work with, how cool would that be?" He grinned at the others with a la-se-faire attitude despite how the last trip had gone what with hair being cooked off and bugs under every bit of exposed skin they had. He still felt awful for Cami, but he'd do better about protecting her next time… "So… Don't know much about either of you, who wants to start a little Q&A and fill me in? "

"Land I am disappointed that you didn't ... oh, nevermind. You've got back up." He rolled his eyes slightly as the other hunter made a crack that was close enough to Arland's usual nerdy jokes to count. "Please tell me you are not going to refer to this thing as a pokedex or something?" He wiggled the scanner slightly before turning it on. "I'm Inoke"

"C'mon, man. This is totally more a tricorder thing. Keep trying, Green." He shook his head slowly at Inoke, trying not to grin at the Sun trainee before glancing over at the third member of their adventuring party.
"Jasper, right? Arland. Welcome to the... Well, I'd almost say 'jungle', just for the song, but this is decidedly more dry and probably not likely to be fun, or a game. But, on the bright side, they've equipped us with things that go 'ding' when there's stuff." He put on a bright smile at that before taking a step off to the side to see if he could actually get his to make any sort of noise or pick anything up... For emphasis, of course.

“Yep! Jasper indeed, I also respond to Batman” He grinned toothily. “Hunters seem to have a pretty big thing about Deserts huh? I don’t know about you but I’ll be pretty happy if I’m not set on fire again, though avoiding ‘bugs under my skin’ would be pretty awesome too.” He ran a hand over his shortened hair and checked his own scanner. “Why is it nothing electronic works anyhow? I mean on the island?” "Oh, Hey! I think I found something!" He tapped at his scanner before stooping to use the bag to gather up the fear invested fossil. "One down…" he grinned.

"..... oh i need an adult." He shook his head though wasn't entirely able to stop himself from laughing quietly at the two. "Stuck in the desert with Batman and Wonderboy." Which sadly could have been worse but he was still trying to avoid more sudden death, thanks. "I'm also pretty sure that the scanners aren't wibbly wobbly timey wimey detectors. Even if they go ding when there's stuff. They don't look like lunchboxes with an antenna dish on it." He poked around in a pile of debris but wasn't coming up with anything useful. "I think the island hates us. Or someone hates us. Deus, the world of no fun."

"Does that make you Nastyman, Ino? Because if so, I've got to tell you... It means we've got to join forces." If the Sun trainee hadn't heard of Tenacious D he wasn't certain that they could be friends anymore and the serious look that he was giving Inoke almost plainly said that. "Nothing over this way, though. Man, this is like... Taking a metal detector around at the beach or some s**t. Only less excitement and more 'hope nothing eats me'."

"Dear god no. If we're going to play DC I get to be Green Lantern." Land could take his terrible movies and keep them to himself. "Isn't ghost busters with bones the Amityvill horror?" He grinned. "I dont know what they think they're going to find out here. Other than obviously dead things and probably some giant evil horror eventually."
