After the battle at the coast where Grrel and I killed 4 Kiandris, I needed some time to rest and recover, so after doing some basic healing on myself, I headed to my brother's lair for some relaxation…and plotting. That’s right; I wanted to ask those two about making something.

I swam away to the little island where Ah-jooh and Ah-mooh my clutch mates lived with all their clutter outside of Talimua on Eowyn. I arrived as the sun was coming up and they had come out to enjoy the early rays. I emerged from the water and Ah-mooh noticed me first, as he usually does. Shocked at the sort-of healed wounds my two adorable older brothers fussed over me. I love them, but they can be a bit silly at times. For the rest of the day we lounged around in the sun eating from their stores and talked about what had happened since we had last met. They scolded me for attacking when I was outnumbered- I ignored them. As the sun settled down I stashed my make-shift pack in their lair and headed out to hunt for some food. They said they’d be back from the village with fresh fruits and stuff so we parted. When I came back they had laid out the food and we settled in for dinner.

Over dinner I mentioned that I wanted to make a pack for holding stuff so that I didn’t have to cast magic all the time to protect stuff I found when swimming deep under sea. They talked it over and started going over what I could do. We talked about a neck pouch, belt pouch and different ways of strapping packs on. I immediately vetoed any item that would be strapped to my neck. I do not want anything around my neck, it feels so uncomfortable. Ah-jooh started scribing on in the sand different packs. In the lamplight, we came up with a pack that would rest on my back between my shoulder blades; the straps would cross over my chest and under the wings making sure that the wings would not be hindered in their movement. After that we talked about materials.

We decided that a sea creature should probably provide the outside so that there would be as little drag as possible created and the outside would naturally have water repellant properties. Thinking back to my time in the ocean, I remembered the Arboa around Soudul. An adolescent or 3 would provide enough material and it was a dark color. Not to mention that it would be the easiest to catch out of the ocean dwellers. I figured that I could get around its poisonous nature by using water magic to throw it onto the shore or just surrounding it with air. Since they have bright spots, I would only kill those that had blue or a dark spots to make my backpack.

Ah-mooh suggested Magbit fluff for an inside cushioning. It sounded good to me, and they existed on Soudul according to him as well. That would be good, it would minimize the trip time with the dead creatures. The two of them suggested that I find a town with a crafter in it before I get the materials so that there was less chance of spoilage. I agreed and we went to sleep and full stomachs the two of them curled around me as we used to sleep when we were smaller.

After a couple more days of enjoying their company, I headed out for Soudul with my makeshift pack on my back using magic to keep it safe and attached, very annoying having to keep doing that. I would be glad when I finally had my pack.
