Saya never knew her birth family, infact the only thing she remembers about the place she was born was the hulking flames that scoured it. When she was four, the small farming community she lived in was attacked by a band of thugs. With no Shinobi to defend themselves the small hamlet burned to the ground. Saya watched as her entire life smoldered to ashes, fearing that she would die like everyone else had. However, a fish merchant was making his rounds in the area, and decided to search for survivors. He spent almost the entire day calling out for anyone, checking through some of the rubble, even as unlikely as it was, stumbled upon Saya. He attempted to bandage her up, and took her with him back to his home, where he and his wife attempted to raise the young girl.
