It seemed the day was just going well, the sun was at its highest peek,It was warm and nice. But something in the air was a bit fishy.Smelled like rain.
Tsalar was trying to enjoy the sun,he felt a few sprinkles here and there but wasn't any concern. When he turned to fly over the mountains he noticed he was flying into a huge black cloud. By the time he wanted to turn back,it was too late. The wind was rough and it was hailing the size of apples. "Why does it have to rain at a time like this...?" Tsalar snorted and was worried about his wings. So he decided to land at the closest spot between the hills.
Once he landed he tried to keep his wings from being torn off his shoulders.Noticing a pathway he started to bolt towards it to be shaded by the trees and some brush that he noticed were around. It had a rushing river, but he wouldn't be going anywhere close to that at a time like this.
It didn't seem like it would be stopping any time soon. When he finally got to a shaded area,he slowed down.He huffed and puffed,so worn out from trying to get out of the storm. Would be the one stupid enough to just accidentally fly into a hail storm. ---------------------------------------------------- Letting out the softest of sighs, a small unicorn bunkered down in the corner of her shallow cave in the mountain-side. Hooves tucked beneath her frame, she was shifted to leave her left-back leg stretched out beside her. How could she have been so idiotic.. High up on her knee was a nasty looking gash that spanned nearly half of her thigh. Flicking her ears back she cursed any deity that was listening as pain radiated through her being. She had tried her healing magic, but it seemed to have no effect today.
Tucking her chin, she rested her nose gently on her front-knees and grimaced. "You're so stupid Dal. You should have known better." Her light voice scolded herself in the shade of her home, the morning had started off so nice too, beautiful sun, and calm winds. Now she could hear the winds howling through the trees, and every echo of distant thunder heading her way sent a frightened shiver down her spine. She needed to get down to the river before the rain decided to finally make it's way to her valley. Gritting her teeth, the unicorn carefully tried to rise with the least amount of movement to her injury. Yet every small shift sent a jolt of pain through her thigh.
Tail thrashing behind her in her pain, she shook her head to try and focus before walking forward from the cave entrance. She needed to find something to bind her wound with before being trapped in her home for a bit, and the long grass around the river was very tough and wide, perfect for this. Yet just through the tree-line, she was forced to pause when she came face-to-face with someone.. new. Starting back a step, she almost collapsed on the spot when her left-leg settled fully on the ground for a minute before quickly lifting. "What are you doing here?" She quickly shot as she sent a harsh look in his direction momentarily, voice spurred on by her agitation before fear filled her belly as she caught sight of his... talons? Brows pulling together, she tucked her tail and carefully backed up a step. (This time remembering to keep off her leg.) "I.. I'm.." Shaking her head, she looked towards the river's direction briefly as she tried to decide where she'd be able to run if needed. ---------------------------------------------------- The stallion heard a soft voice near him,he lifted his head to look. It was a mare. "I was flying above..I got trapped in the storm and needed somewhere to land. Before I got a nasty wound.." He said and noticed the big gash on her leg. Pinning his ears he shook the water off of him. "It seems like you're..already hurt."
Tsalar sighed a bit. "If you think I'm going to rip you to shreds just because I have sharp teeth and talons,I'm not."He gave a chuckle. "Harmless unless I have to be."
He didn't blame her that she was terrified of him. It was taking some getting used to,but he was getting there."For now,If you'd let me help you. We can get to patched up.." Tsalar wasn't sure she would let him. He was indeed quite the scary character. ---------------------------------------------------- Turning her head away from him as he spoke, Dal felt her heart in her throat as she debated her own response. He /seemed/ nice with his words. Then again, so did Atgas in her own insane way. Distrust filling her, she let out a shaky sigh to try and center herself before turning to face him once more. Eyes traveling over his feathered form to try and judge his body language, the unicorn stilled when she returned her attention to his face. Something about his eyes reminded her of that boy from so long ago in the garden.
Mane soaked by this point, she took a moment to look to the sky. Rain? How did she not notice it had already started. So focused on the new arrival she had hardly focused on her surroundings at all. Shaking the water from her curled locks, she sighed once more. "Help.. Would be very welcome." Dalriada admitted, though her entire being screamed it was a bad idea. You never invite the wolf into your home, but something about him. Clearing her throat lightly, she tilted her head back from where she'd came. "I have some shelter back that way.. If you want to get out of the rain, that is." ---------------------------------------------------- Tsalar nodded and awaited her response. Maybe once she trusted in him that he wouldn't hurt her, they could become friends. Friends in this world were nice.
"I can." Tsalar started looking around for some supplies near them, He collected what he thought would be able to help them and he looked back to her."Shelter would be appreciated." Tsalar flicked his tail and kept his distance for now just encase she still wasn't sure. Didn't want her hurting herself even more. That would be horrible and he didn't want to watch the mare die. ---------------------------------------------------- Tipping her head lightly as he busied himself momentarily with gathering some of the natural supplies around them, Dal gave a light nod when he indicated he was ready. Turning carefully, she felt a shiver of fear flood her being when she had her back to him. Her mother had always told her that was a sure-fire way to get yourself killed. Adding injury into the mix she could help but shiver lightly. It's fine, he's helping, it was just like the way Ciryatan had helped her back in the garden. She had trusted him just fine then. Here was no different. Leading her way back to the cave (Slow going in her current situation) Dal began to feel a bit more at ease within the walls of her home.
Steadying herself the best she could, she shook the rain off parts of her body that felt like they were weighing her down and leaned against the wall. "Today is just not my day." She huffed under her breath with a snort and lifted her ears as she looked over at him. "I tried to close it as much as I could with magic, but." Leaving the sentence unfinished, she tipped her head lightly in the wounds direction. She'd used all of her energy getting out of the river when it'd happened, that it left little for what she needed to do. "Thank you, by the way." ---------------------------------------------------- He wasn't the kind of male to like blood, murder if that. May be a mutant, but he couldn't stand the thought of killing. He may have thought about it as a foal, because he had to live and learn everything by himself,he hated everyone. But Tsalar changed with the help of a small foal he had met and another mutant.
Tsalar followed the mare but at a distance."Its fine,I'm here to help now the best that I can." Then maybe once she was healing better, her horn could help it heal the rest of the way. Tsalar sighed a bit as the rain poured down upon them."No problem." ----------------------------------------------------

"You are alright, right?" She questioned with another curious tilt of her head, though she inwardly flinched as she small headache began to make it's presence known. How lucky of her. "I'm afraid I don't know much about winged horses, but I have seen birds that avoid the rain. Do they ne-to" Pausing at the light word-slur she cleared her throat softly and drew in a breath to steady her. "..need to be dried?" It helped her to look after another, it was almost like having Ciryatan back with her. Feeling a deep pang in her heart as she thought of the unicorn, she flicked her ears back into her mess of a mane. It'd be so long since she'd seen him last, she still hoped to see her savior return. At least then she'd know he was still alive.
"My name is Dalraida by the way." Oh great mother, her head was spinning. Letting out a soft noise of confusion, she shook her pounding head. (Horrible decision on her end) sending her vision spinning. "I-ah.." Looking to him for some kind of help, Dal was stunned to silence as she almost felt a keen sense of reassurance overcome her being as her vision almost blurred, leaving her once protector Atgas standing before her. Offering the smallest of smiles as she felt her eyes well with tears that would never spill over, she stumbled in place for a moment before falling to her knees with a dull thump. Hissing as it jolts her would, she closes her eyes for a moment, her breath coming in shallow, shaky huffs. "Ahh. That wasn't fun.." She snapped mostly to herself. It seemed her harsh step back to her leg had opened the wound, leaving a bloody stain running down her back leg. Something that had went unnoticed from her. "A-atgas." Dal nearly whimpered softly. "Did you grab anything to wrap this with?" ---------------------------------------------------- "I'm perfectly fine." He blinked a couple times and nodded. She must have been sheltered, kept away from everything in the lands. He was probably a huge shock to her. "Sometimes the rain can be dangerious." He became a little worried and rushed to her side. She would probably freak out but her body was slowing down and draining from the blood loss.
"Tsalar,Its a pleasure." Tsalar kept her held up,He wrapped his wing over her back and to her other side, making it so she was forced to walk close to him. When she fell,Tsalar looked over her. Hated seeing mares bloodied up and in pain. "Well no silly. You're going to hurt yourself some more." Shaking his head he let out a slight chuckle. His face when back to being concerned about her, what was she thinking coming out here and possibly being in much more danger?
"I did. Why don't we fix you up first and then I'll carry you back?I don't need you bleeding even more and killing yourself in front of me." Tsalar turned to pick up some more supplies. Once he found some more things he started to fix her up. When he was a foal,he probably would've said ******** it to her and left her die there. But that little filly changed him, same with Brin.
"Now, I need you to get on my back. I'll get you everything you need to stay in your home, okay?" Tsalar said a little bit worried about the mare,he was lucky he didn't break a wing or a leg trying to land from the storm. ---------------------------------------------------- "Your back?" She questioned as he finished tying a the long river-grass around her thigh. "But you can't fly.." Brows pulling together, she peered at him quite confused, as her mind still showed a swimming image is Atgas before her. "Ahh." She groaned lightly as she closed her eyes tight for a minute to clear her ming a bit. It was only when she looked up at him that she froze up for a second before calming with a sigh. It wasn't Atgas, but the stallion from before. Giving a gentle shake of her head at his urging, as she forced herself to her hooves. Though not without a light stumble on her end. "Please, carrying is hardly needed. Just. I'll be just fine."
She was trying to look strong, she'd learned in the gardens weakness wasn't a good thing to visibly show. If you were in pain you hid it to keep the human's painful prodding away. "Just need to keep it up." It was strange, up until now she had hardly noticed the lack of rain falling on her. Body resting as light as she could on his side (while allowing herself some relief.) she felt a small bit of thankfulness at the cover. "Thank you Tsalar." It was Tsalar, right? Oh she hoped so. She had hardly heard him the first time. "It's right up the hill, then a turn to the right." ---------------------------------------------------- "Can't fly..?"He looked a bit confused and turned to his sides. But he could? Tsalar tried to keep her up. She didn't have to try to act tough in front of him. If he was in the same shape he would be accepting any help that would be offered his way.
"Don't be silly Dal,you need the help.." He sighed and watched as she struggled on the way. Wished she would just listen to him.Keeping off that leg and resting was best for her.
"Alright.."He said softly and kept beside her. ----------------------------------------------------

"I'll be just.." Brows pulling together as a bout of pain washed through her, she quickly shook it off and continued. "...fine. Either way we're just about there." She didn't like to feel weak, she didn't like asking for help when it wasn't absolutely necessary. Perhaps it was a nasty habit that she'd learned from the stubborn stallion that she once traveled with, but it helped. It gave her the chance to feel in control with something when everything else fell to pieces. After all, to show all consuming weakness was dangerous, she was strong enough to stand in the ever-reopening pain of her irons, she would be strong enough to handle a wound that should heal eventually. "The hill is just the... hardest part." Breath coming in soft huffs when they reached the top, Dal swayed uneasily on her hooves before steadying herself with the help of his side.
"There, there." She pointed with her nose to the small crack in the rocks of the mountains. Small enough that someone from the air, or even a casual passer-by might overlook it, yet if watched for clearly easy to see. "It's a small squeeze getting inside, but it's much roomier in the cave." Nodding after her explanation, she looked up at him from the corner of her eyes and hmmed lightly in her mind. His appearance still made her instincts scream hunter, but she battled them down. If anything the cave would provide her some kind of shelter if he did decide to turn on her. Her small frame and quick steps, (Well quick steps with a healed leg) would allow her to quickly pass through the entrance with no problem. His wings might cause him to have to be a bit more careful passing though.
---------------------------------------------------- She was so stubborn. The male sook his head and watched her struggling. His offer wasn't good enough because she had to be strong in front of a stallion. It was so silly when everyone acted that way. Event stallions in front of mares.
"Are you sure..?" He was still a bit worried. It concerned him that she was so 'strong' about this. When she motion to where her home was,it was so hard to see.Which was a great thing but he might not even be able to fit into there. He was so huge compaired to her. "That sounds really nice.Safe and sound." He said softly and nodded.---------------------------------------------------- Drawing in a deep breath to steady her drive and chase away the aching pain that roamed from hoof to hip, the mare gave him a curt nod at his question, and left it at that. She was fine, or well, she'd be find. Heart racing in her chest, as she struggled on as secretly as she could under his watchful gaze. She could already guess he thought her a fool for her actions, but her deep rooted lessons were hard to forget. Feeling a light smile tug at her lips when they got close, Dalraida couldn't help the shaky sigh of relief that fled her as she pressed a nose lightly against the rock cliff to the right of the small entrance. She'd never had a permanent home in all of her life, yet now the simple, cool touch of the entrance to hers was enough to calm her frantic heart. Drawing back, she turned to look up at him with an almost warm smile and indicated with a tilt of her head to the crack. "It's a tight squeeze, so be careful. Wouldn't want you to catch your wings on the rocks. Be careful with your footing too, though I guess yours wouldn't.." Sentence falling off to silence as she glanced down at his sharp talons, Dal cleared her throat lightly and looked away quickly. They were so... Feeling the unease build up in her again, she gave him a quick. "I'll lead the way." Before turning to the entrance and easily slipping through the rocks.
The passage was quite thick, and the floor had rocks that jutted up from the ground in random directions. It was enough to make her take it easy through their walls. Each step carefully thought out, yet still she couldn't help the quick, hissing intakes of breath when her leg would be jarred uneasily. The only reward was the low, long clearing in the cave up ahead. "A-ah." She sighed sweetly as her hooves clicked on the smooth floor below and she gently shook out her waved mane. It was not much, the walls bare and carrying the same unevenly cut rocks the passage had. But they were warmed by a gentle hotspring that ran throughout the mountain, and the ground was dotted with soft patches of moss that was perfect for resting on. Yet all this was hidden by the darkness that cut though the ground around the light that filtered in from the entrance. "You okay?" She called back to him, as she bundled her exhausted energy in her horn and shot out a small light that hovered in the ceiling. It was dull and blue, but easily chased away the shadows.
