It was overcast for a spring day, the rain starting and stopping for short periods; but it had left a partially damp Moonhoof to take refuge tucked under the tree of Galla. She had left for the day, and after all his time in the flock lands and his general hermit like nature he stayed put. It had taken some time to build up some semblance of trust in the herd - or at the very least of the Harpy who'd brought him here some time ago.

So he sat, laying against the cool grass as he used his great horns to sort through a pile of herbs he'd collected both dried and fresh. He'd been amazed to hear the stories of the herbs which used to grow where these harpy ladies were from, only a few managed to make it here; and he'd begun to catalog the differences between them in his head for future use. When Galla returned he'd have to ask her to store some of the herbs in a dry spot up in the tree; as Moonhoof discovered some herbs did have a tendency to mold and wilt rather quickly if not used.

Perking his ears up he could hear the sound of rain again, lifting his head from his work and looking out into the flock lands as the rain began to pelt the grounds. He remembered rainy days like today, traveling the lands with his brother Wenopa after the great fire. Rainy days with their new herd, Yectenehua. He wondered how they were all doing, if everyone was well. Perhaps he would be back there if he put up any semblance of resistance to Galla's kind but forceful offer - but that wasn't him. He honestly traveled so much it felt as if he didn't belong anywhere; but in his heart he knew he was in the kind Usdia's and Angeni's herd...just as he was now part of the flock as well. Maybe one day he'd be able to see them again; but as of right now he didn't want to cause waves; so he focused as always on work.

Always...work.

As the sun remained hidden behind dark clouds, the luminescence of his body began to glow; horns, hooves, and his trinkets emitted the soft blue light. The land surroundings began to get quiet as presumably to him the harpies took their stallions back to nests; or wherever they often went. With his mistress no where in sight, Moon kept to his silent vigil; wise eyes drifting over the scene before him.

Koi was in her element; her pelt was damp, her feathers in wet clumps but it was raining and so she didn't care that she looked like a soaked feather-duster, because in her mind she was still the fish-Soquili she had fervently believed herself to be since she had left the confines of her basket. Her mother, Goldfish, now slightly regretted her choice of words, but really, could she have imagined her only daughter acting this way because she had been given a fishy name?

Koi's mother, and others had tried their best, and had only partially succeeded in ridding Koi of her belief. She now knew she wasn't an actual fish but instead thought of herself as a fish-Soquili, born in the wrong body. And so she continued to enjoy the rain, took to swimming in streams and rivers and often ventured as far as the beach, slipping away to enjoy the sights, smells and sounds of the place she thought she should have been born in.

She was back home now though, wreathed in aquatic plants, some of which she would deposit in the pond that her mother had made with her own claws, others she would dry out and decorate her nest with. As she passed one of the many trees, she caught sight of the stallion nestled under it and she paused, dripping head tilted to one side as she looked him over. He looked different from any other male she had seen so far in the Flock and she wandered over.

'Do those get caught on stuff?' she asked, without any preamble, nodding at his impressive set of antlers.

The cerynei stifled a yawn as the rain had begin to sing a bit of a melody as it strummed against various objects on its way down to the earth. It made him a bit sleepy, if he was honest with himself. He wasn't used to just waiting, even when he was waiting on plants there was always things to do, places to go. However that wasn't the case here in the flock...permissions were needed, there were rules....and although he could have gone to the stallions gathering area...it just wasn't for him.

He didn't enjoy large crowds for so long, one on one was fine but he noted there were many...er...boisterous stallions. Ones who whistled and made such a commotion, although he was rather bored sitting below the tree in solitude it was still better than heading over there where his anxiety would grow.

Things were just so much easier with plants. They didn't expect anything out of you.

Yet, things were taking a turn as his eyes landed on such a bright mare....how could they not when she looked akin to the brightness of the sun. Funny, how he and his brother were lunar stallions. She headed his way as he dipped his own head respectfully to her. "My antlers? They can, mostly in jungle like terrain where there are vines and other low landing fauna. Out here in the temperate forests not so much. Its like...claws." He glanced to her feet. "Once you have them you kind of have a sense about them; so you account for it in day to day."

Oh, he was rambling. Woops.

"My name is Moonhoof...mistress." It was still such a weird honorific, but he pushed that aside. She seemed nice enough, most harpies didn't bother to look his way unless it was to scold or compare. Luckily it didn't seem to be that kind of season, currently.
