As Intet soared over a the lands, the passengers and his rider formulated a plan of action atop his body. "So, once we meet up with Lucious down there, we'll be splitting off into two teams. The first of these teams will consist of myself, Maria, and Karmina. With Maria's senses we should easily be able to hunt down anything that seems out of place. I suspect another witch will be here, but with any kind of luck, we'll find no resistance besides the forest itself." As he explained this, Maria and Reeanah struggled to keep their hair out of their faces, what with the wind of flying so fast hitting them and all. Liam leaned over the edge, admiring the scenery and happy to be on an adventure. "Team two will be following a different lead in Kusana, and we'll meet up in the city and exchange information. That will be Liam, Lucious, and Reeanah." Liam gave him a thumbs up but, Karmina was clinging to the back of the dragon for dear life, though she was in little danger of falling off. This was a comical sight to Maria, who stiffled her laughter and walked along Intet's back. "Take us down boy," she said rubbing his head with the end of her spear as he let himself glide down to the ground safely. "All aground that's going aground!" She yelled as she jumped down from his head, landing in a tight little ball and then standing up fully among her companions. Soon after Lucious arrived as well, and the gang was all together. "Okay, split into the groups we discussed. Lucious, you'll be taking Reeanah and Liam with you into the city. Liam will prep you on the way." He ordered. "Yes sir!" he replied as he turned into his SUV again, and the group made tracks towards the city. That left the remaining three in the dense forestry. Intet didn't like the area very much. He was more used to mountains and oceans than jungles, so when the group was cleared, he extended his wings and simply left, flying straight up into the canopy and disappearing. Soon, not even wing beats could be heard.
Maria's senses were completely alive at the moment. Everything around her was both beautiful and distracting in the best and worst way. The colors were vibrant and enticing. The leaves seemed to be more green here than in the trees of Aramil, few as they are. She could hear grasshoppers very far away. Just the same right near her feet she could feel a frog hopping. The smell of foliage was nearly overwhelming as well. Intet was correct to leave, she was having trouble adjusting, and her first time outside of Aramil had been in a forest but nothing like this. She longed to be back in the ocean but knew full well that there was simply no chance of that until Kaminae was gone. More than anything she wanted the demon dead. It was for this reason that she steeled herself against her own mind and focused her senses on the immediate. "Are you okay?" Karmina asked, inches away from her face. In her own world she hadn't even noticed Haman and Karmina's concern. "It must be hard for you to be so far from your home." Somehow she knew what Maria was going through. That bit of empathy helped her more than she was aware, but she jumped nonetheless when she realized how close the girl was. "I-I'm fine. Thank you." she spoke suddenly. And then nervously trailed off. "Well, I actually have an idea in that case." Haman said. Maria and Karmina looked at him, and Maria sort of didn't like what he had come up with to narrow down the search.
So he somehow knew that the Mer people usually carried around conch shells, and that they helped them hear stuff. Of course he wanted her to do it... She popped the conch into her ear and closed her eyes. Immediately she furrowed her brow. "I hear... a lot. Theres buzzing bees and dragon flies, which means water is somewhere around here. Goblin raiding party I think... moving away from us. There is a... hmm. I think that's a jungle cat of some sort. A singing bear and a little boy? No that'd be ridiculous..." She went on like this for a while, scanning the whole forest until she heard something that didn't belong. "That sounded like a group of people... and they are talking about something in Demonica. Page in a book... He just said they're gonna be moving it soon, this is our chance! They are about a mile that way!" She called out. She threw herself forward, with a powerful leap and rolled through the air ahead of the group. A mile wasn't so far a run for anyone in basic training level shape, but for someone who could ascend tot he clouds in a matter of seconds, the trip could be made even shorter. Her spear was locked in on her back, opting instead for the use of her blades.
She squinted as she rocketed forward, slashing tree branches out of her path and startling birds and rodents on her way. A few seconds later and the girl landed in the center of four men, literally on top of a chest they were all carrying. The box was black and gold, and incredibly heavy apparently. Whatever was inside was not going to be coming out soon. It crashed to the ground with a loud thud, and the men were knocked aside as the woman, beautiful red hair and a toned body, kneeled with her swords at her side. There was confusion at first, but the men, all of them around the same height and wearing long, concealing black robes, turned their confusion and anger into focus as they started in on her. Another high powered jump put her a few feet higher than normal jump range, and she came down with a swing on the front, left man. Two large arms came up over his head, armor protecting them, but Maria was not deterred. She continued pressing down and drove her knee into the man's chest. She bounced, almost literally, off of him and sent him stumbling off of his feet. Maria was on her next target quickly, however, he was not easily off put. He had a blade of his own, and as her offense pressed his defense pushed back. He held her attention jsut long enough for one of his companions to get her in a headlock from behind. At first she struggled, but soon refocused her mind and stomped her foot on his. He let out a grunt, and his partner attempted to run her through. This would have killed her ally as well, which set off an alarm in Maria's head. She swatted the attack with the buckler strapped on her arm, and swung the other blade to the right out of instinct. The man she'd initially knocked over rose and came from that side, but immediately put his guard back up to defend himself and was subsequently knocked back down. With her grappler tightening his grip she dropped low, pulling him over and forcing him to loosen her grip. His nose was then acquainted with the back of Maria's head, and he staggered away.
Just then a whip of lightning rocketed past her and struck down the fourth man, burning his chest and frying him to the ground. Maria was amazed at the sight, and looked to see Karmina and Haman had caught up. She had put up a hell of a fight alone, but that was eye opening to the fact that she did have her short comings. Haman ran up to stand beside the girl as the four men stood up, their hoods concealing their faces but not their tall, imposing statures. Haman seemed to be focused solely on getting in close and dealing melee damage as well, what with his lack of weapons. Karmina stood a few feet back, and seemed to be intoning a spell already. "Okay, hot-head. Try and stick with us next time..." he ordered sternly with a smile, but then gave the signal to move on them. When she leaped forward in her signature style, she was matched by him somehow, flying just as fast, The men cleared the way as Haman and Maria slid to a stop a few feet back and then pounced on them. Haman seemed to do just as much damage with her legs as she could with her weapons. However, the cloaked men were no pushovers. Though all human, each of them seemed unnaturally fast and strong. Maria took note of her target reacting to attacks better than she expected. Her response, however, was to go to her maximum ability, and even then she seemed unable to land a solid hit. Thankfully, however, Karmina was with them. Several lashes of fire stretched out and began whipping the men. Haman took advantage of the moment she gave them and seemingly started attacking them men without even touching them. Must have been some kind of Djinn thing. Either way, that alone put two of the men down and out. Maria responded by leaping into an aerial flip, aiming to bring both swords down on one enemy. He tried to block the same way as before, but her inner energy simply over powered him. The smell of blood permeated the area suddenly. So we had two men who had been completely broken down by psychic power, one who Karmina simply whipped to death with flames, and one nearly slashed in half. One would think that was it, but nothing was ever so easy.
Maria! Those guys you just took down? Yeah looks like one of them was a dragoon. Intet warned ahead. Maria's heart sank as she relayed that message aloud, and then heard a roar in the air. "Okay, kid, you can take care of that. Karmina, give me a hand with this!" Haman ordered. He kneeled down and did some sort of Djinn thing, pumping his strength as Karmina's staff glowed as well. Maria was to buy time while they hauled the chest somewhere safe. Fair enough, she supposed, as she heard two sets of wingbeats. She knew Intet's well, and so picked her target well. Haman and Karmina got out of her sight range, and she threw herself into the air. She broke the clouds and took her spear in hand. "Hiya!" she called out with a roar as she slammed into the side of the black, wild beast. He was caught off guard, but maria had only made a superficial dent in his underbelly. She grabbed onto the beast as he angrily tried to shake her off. She held fast, but eventually had to kick off and fly literally across the sky to her dragon, landing squarely in her favored combat position. The black dragon, clearly made from rage at this point, flew full speed at Intet, and Maria simply urged him to meet the other dragon head on. Maria braced as they collided in mid air and the size difference became apparent. Intet grabbed the dragon by it's body, digging in his claws and pulled him straight up. He was almost twice as large as the other dragon, and so was stronger by definition. He barrel rolled and began to dive as a blue flame welled in his mouth. He released his smaller adversary and then slid across the forest floor, tearing trees apart as he turned to face his enemy. Maria stood on the head of her companion and opened her mouth wide just as Intet did. The two of them roared and two torrents of water rushed forward with daggers of ice mixed in. They were midly surprised when the smaller beast bounded off of the floor and avoided the attack. He rushed Intet, who had to stand on two feet and grab the dragon's arms to match it. Maria leaped over as they struggled and focused energy into her spear as she always had during training regimines. The head of the spear stabbed into the scales of the black dragon, causing him enough pain for Intent to lift it up and launch it backwards. Maria fell from the air, landing on Intet just as the beast leaped forward, knocking a sycamore tree over and landing on the other dragon. His eyes were wild with rage, possibly since his rider had just been killed. Intet opened his mouth and sank his fangs into the other dragon's neck. Somehow the dragon had enough fight in it to swat intet away, but the dragon simply pinned it and inhaled so deep its wings unfolded, and then let loose a blast of atomic frost breath down on it. The fight in the black dragon slowly faded as the beam of ice cut into it's neck. That there, is why it's better for us to die than our riders. Maria looked down on it from Intet's back as he turned and she listened through her conch again, stupid as she felt, for Haman.
A few minutes in the air gave Maria enough time to think about what had just occured. A fellow dragoon had died down there, but his dragon had been left alone. Intet's words rang in her ear as she rubbed his back with the back end of her spear as she did sometimes. Calm down, Ria. Nothing is going to separate us. And I'm sure if something manages to kill one of us the other is screwed anyway, so I won't be crazy long if do end up like him. The thought didn't comfort her but she did appreciate his attempt. Inten smirked in a dragon-y way and came down at the area whre he had let everyone down before. He was slightly tired from the flight there and then his small battle, so he rested his head on his arms and soon had drifted off while Maria and Haman decided what to do.
"Good job, Maria. Keep this up and you'll make Expert sooner than you think." he told her. Karmina simply nodded. "And you, my little elf. You and those spells get more and more interesting by the day. Kaminae's days are numbered." Maria looked at him curiously, finding the right way to ask the question. "Haman, where does your particular hatred for her come from?" Haman and Karmina both fell quiet, and she felt bad for asking suddenly. "Perhaps another time." he finally said as he started trying to figure out how to open up the box. Maria leaned on Intet as he worked with the strange lock, enlisting help from Karmina when it came to matters of magic. It wasn't until a couple of hours later when Lucious and company returned that he finally got it open. But first, he got his debriefing from them. "It was a total bust. Turns out the person we went to see was a complete set up. All we got out of that were new battle scars." Liam reported though he didn't seem incredibly let down by that. "Well then, let's hope we are a bit more lucky then, shall we?" Haman asked kneeling down and opening up the box...
The Wild Hunt generated a random number between
1 and 5 ...
5!
If Egylar was filled with the breath of life, then the rainforest was a resounding symphony. The densely wooded terrain held many dangers, certainly, but it was the very real threat of living, breathing creatures that called the forest their home. Not some magically forced life that defied the laws of nature that overflowed from the forest. Even the death and decay, mostly leaves and other plant life, that formed the forest floor and killed the sounds of Nai's footsteps was meant to one day bring forth new life.
This jungle, deep and dense, were the hunting grounds of the living and not the dead. While the corpses were no doubt numerous, as they must be in an area so filled with life, the undead had no place here. At least, they shouldn't have any.
It had been rare to hear about, an elusive rumor that rooted Nai to that one spot on the bridge for so long, but whispers among the elves and those that associated with them told of skeletons and rotting flesh walking in this very part of Kranila. It wasn't right, but the sightings were so rare that maybe it wasn't really a problem. Nai suspected otherwise, her thoughts lingering on the rise of a skeletal dragon and the ominous foreboding that the failed attempt would not be the last.
She had no reason to act on such matters, but she did. She couldn't be bothered to figure out why, to admit that it was because she did not want to move forward into the unknown when her abilities were suddenly acting up.
It was as one would expect. The undead were nowhere to be seen, as elusive as bigfoot because, well, that was the exact niche they filled. The dense flora of the rainforest didn't exactly assist Nai's attempts to scout, either. Even the elves rarely saw the undead. What chance did Nai, an out-of-place outsider, have? Still, she persevered and marched on. Scant as the rumors were, they rang with an air of certainty.

The rainforest was a welcome change of scene, even if it were humid and muggy. It spoke to the the introversion I felt around my own kind, it's nature and it's absent of the others save for us. The shadow and light was formed around me just right as I was the mute's tail, silently following and out of sight, out of mind. Wasn't like I had anything else to do, but when you mention the restless dead and that same person heads toward the general direction, curiosity settles in.
Clumsy was the mute, no care of direction as I moved above, using both my reach and speed to move without effort. The muffled movements of the shadows cloaking my approach, I had a bird's eye vantage point with this part of the forest, the canopy doing little to let light in from the sky however.
What was she here for? I kept wondering, still lingering above. Curio-- That thought was cut off instantly as I felt the signature tap tap of eight legs, something bigger than a common terror. I hadn't shrieked or jumped, but instead the rainforest would echo with the sound of what had come.
Feet away in front of Nai she would clearly see a knife striking the tree with a slight golden hue of holy energy, burying itself to the hilt with a loud snap as a body of a decaying tarantula peeling away from the hilt. Light crackled from the eight legged terror that was soon followed with quick, several frantic noises in the canopy above.
One by one the sound of knives being flung could be heard with the large, fist sized spawns of hell falling to the forestry ground, some missing limbs, others reeking the stench of death. But soon the noise stopped after the last creature was killed off, this one impaled ten times from several knives flung to ensure it stayed dead.
I hate spiders. Undead spiders I hated more. I breathed slightly as the special set returned to my person in their respective sheaths. I stayed silent now as the cloak was gone, only shadow concealed my lower half as I perched on a tree branch in a frog-stance crouch.
Maybe next time I go into the forest, it would be good to wear robes, feeling the dead spider on my thigh...No.
"Dislike spiders." A disembodied portion of my voice spoke then, closer to Nai. "Movement near. Senses sharp."
Nai's eyes flashed to the first casuality of Adiel's fight before skipping to observe the shower of spiders falling from above. She saw the elf and instantly judged that this was a trusted ally. Eyes darted back to the ground. While one took care of the treetops, the clumsier of the two would take care of where she felt more at home: the shadowed ground.
No threat came from the ground. Nai assessed as the sound of dropping spiders ceased. If the enemies only came from above, then she who did not have the grace to fly through trees would be at a natural disadvantage. Ad's report confirmed what Nai had assumed. More were coming and here Nai was, a city lubber with her usual resources stunted. More acutely than before, the knowledge that she could not rely on X or Sloth was relevant. Her mind jumped to countless possibilities and scenarios and more than half of them were instantly crushed knowing that she didn't have shadows or sins to fall back on. She was alone, and it stirred an emotion that she didn't even notice, much less was able to name.
of course. Nai did have Adiel here with her. The elf had given no plan. The Lumirian recognized that to mean that the decision would be left up to her.
The rainforest full of life was not a home for the undead. Nai knew that. She had cross-checked this intuition with what knowledge she could grasp in the elven libraries. For undead to appear in numbers such as this, there must be a source.
To leave without finding that source would be inefficient.
Words were often a waste of breath. However, like any veteran, Nai knew the value of communication; she just usually didn't feel it was worth it to bother. Now, before the second wave arrived, Nai needed to communicate her intentions to Adiel. It would decide whether she pressed on or turned back.
In minced words, Nai spoke as if Adiel was where her disembodied voice spoke but without even looking in that direction, "Primary objective: identify source of undead. Secondary objective: destroy source." With objectives like those, it was a given that the two of them would be charging right into whatever new danger approached. Rather, the question that Nai needed the answer to came before that, "Do you accept?". She looked up to Adiel as she spoke, a needless movement but one Nai recognized as sometimes helping her get the answer she wanted. She would not be able to proceed alone.
By now, even Nai could hear the approaching beasts. However, if they were on the same level as the spiders that the elven maiden had dispatched, then she knew that, even alone, she didn't need sight of their entry to handle them. More pressing was that Ad did not have much time for a response.

The shift was quick then as I unveiled my form once more, now on the floor of the forest in the half crouch, half standing position I had been in on the branch. Nai was quick to already give instruction as she knew as well as I did that there was other beings lurking here. It felt unnatural and I wasn't to have it, not now or soon. Silent I was as energy flowed through my being, through the ground and out to the trees, plants and beyond. If she would see me then, the cloaked woman would see the golden aura of my power seething out in a light shimmer.
Extending my mental presence forward, I looked way ahead, taking in the surroundings further along and took it in. Sight was useless but sound was all I needed with my hypersensitive perception kicked in. The presence returned to me as I've rose to both feet in a hurry then, fully aware with eyes open and aglow.
"I understand. Forest hear my request." I said then as the shuddering aura pulsed out from my person and extended its glow to the surrounding flora. "Wake and assist me in this task." I finished with the elvish tongue of my people as thin wisps of magic entangled around five of the ancient trees.
"Avoid my gaze" I said then, noting this to my would be ally. "It's not pleasant" I said with two knives drawn, one in each hand as the five trees I enchanted were still aglow.
"To the left."

Understand and accept didn't mean the same thing, but what did Nai care? Not at all. Light shone from the direction Adiel stood. In reaction, Nai's eyes shifted to look at the now glowing elf. Silent and still the dawn elf stood, giving Nai no signs of what she might be doing. Whatever it was, it looked like it left her impromptu partner vulnerable. Most techniques with such effects tended to do so. Whether or not this was true, Nai didn't know.
Alerted by no suspicious sounds, Nai watched as Adiel's glow spread to the flora around her as if they too were part of her body. A tidbit of information, rose to Nai's mind. She had stored it, as with most tidbits, but had not understood it. For now, she filed away what she was seeing as the explanation for that comment. Some elvish was spoken and magic responded to the ancient words, connecting Adiel's power to that of the trees around her.
Told to avoid the elf's gaze, Nai averted her eyes without question. The direction of the next wave's origin was given and Nai was off.
Unaccustomed to the rainforest terrain, each footstep of Nai's sunk into the dirt and each foot had to be pulled up that extra amount. An extra expense of energy, but a necessary one. No longer did sounds of life fill the forest. Only the rustle of trees being shaped by the wind and the muted sounds of Nai's footsteps: soft squelches and cushioned crunches. No doubt the living had fled at the presence of the moving dead.
The first signs of undead were even louder footsteps than Nai's. The first visual sign was a flash of dulled blue from ahead of Nai. Running headfirst into danger was never a smart idea. Nai wouldn't have done it if she didn't think getting through everything quickly was easier than taking it cautiously. She knew the risks she was taking. Consequently, she was prepared for it. At just the first sign of movement headed in her direction, Nai had determined her intended dodge path. At the first visual cue, she had taken the first step for it. She didn't bother looking for confirmation if this was an attack or just a scared animal. She wanted out of the way either way.
Talons and the giant black body of a horned, blue-necked bird flew past Nai as she nimbly jump-stepped to the side where she could take cover behind a tree just in case. After its charge, the bird had to recover its balance and in that moment, Nai saw it's form. The distinctive color and shape easily told her it was a cassowary, one big enough for one person to ride on.
The colors of the cassowary's skin had faded and its beak hung unhinged. Bunches of feathers had come out and a part of the cassowary's skin had completely decomposed to reveal a hollow skeleton. The talons, however, had taken on an unnatural sharpness.
Her observations had given the cassowary time to recover. Undead were known to be violent so Nai decided that the extra seconds to bait out an attack from it before striking would be worth it. The big bird was strong but from what Nai saw it had only so many attack options, the feet and potentially the head. Nothing else looked like it could be weaponized.
Some sort of raspy howling sounded in the distance. Nai didn't have the time to analyze it because right then the cassowary charged. However, Adiel would note that they came from the treetops and were quite close.
The cassowary charged Nai and she dodged deftly to the side. The bird was dangerous… only if you were too slow and unprepared to dodge its fast attacks. Its size did pose the challenge of moving far enough to dodge. Nai had to jump and unsheathe her sword, but her recovery was much quicker than the Cassowary's. While it was still straightening up, Nai attacked from the back to dig her longsword into where the cassowary's left leg and body connected. Her blade sliced through the rotten flesh easily, ripping tendon and sliding through the joint of two bones to completely disconnect the leg from the body.
In a last ditch attack, the undead cassowary flung its body recklessly at Nai with the power of its one remaining leg. The movement had no plan besides some vague intent to by chance hit Nai with the horn on its head or maybe crush her with the weight of something the size of a horse.
Nai's response was to vault off the cassowary's back, land some distance away, and then watch as the one-legged undead fall after its desperate twirl. It tried to inch its way towards the living, breathing human on the ground. Even with torn mouth and ragged feathers once beautiful, it looked pitiful. Nai drove her longsword through the head and the undead ceased to move.

XXX Creatures of death and decay were already on the approach it seemed, a bird had came through with Adiel vaguely aware of the action between it and the mystery woman. Nai, but she was always a mystery and would most likely remain as such. Through the thick underbrush and canopy there was movement as she perceived earlier as she stood still, arms slack at her sides.
XXX The same energy pulsated from the elf as her eyes glowed slightly with a gold light as she listened around the area. Through the trees figures moved through the branches, their limbs clambering through with a slow and deliberate approach. In a few trees now surrounding the duo, they moved with a few sounds that the elf could make out and even the few trees she taken possession of.
XXX Right as Nai was finishing off the bird, Adiel moved suddenly with her arms spread out and shouted in the elvish tongue. Five trees moved in synchronization to the elf, their limbs contorting and seemingly coming alive. Loud shuddering and cracking echoed as the branches constricted like living boa snakes and the garbled noises of undead chimps yowled out, caught in the constricting trees like flies in a web. More than half were dispatched efficiently and remained in the deathly vice of the trees.
XXX The others were no longer silent as screeches and hoots echoed and down the trunks of the trees and branches of the trees she had not controlled they came. Adiel stood in the same spot with her glowing eyes tracking each creature and observed them in detail. Half bald of rotted flesh and half matted black fur, the monkeys were screeching as they had in life. Sunken eyes and teeth bared, they were like a hornets nest as the elf held her hands out to her side as the knives she used materialized in her grasp from a blue light.
XXX One by one she threw her knives with pin point accuracy at each approaching creature with the blades striking each of them in the head. White flashes flicked off of each struck chimp as Adiel was moving in the same position she stood and orchestrated her ranged dance of death. Six were slain before they even closed much distance to the elf, their heads burning from the holy baldes that struck them as the knives dematerialized and returned to Adiel with her magical link to them.
XXX Her enhanced perception and glowing eyes were a major boon to the creatures even as they did narrow the space toward her. Everything was crystal clear to her and her gaze to the undead was deadly as they started to singe and even burn. One threw its entire body at her in a full assualt and two others joined in the attack as Adiel finally moved. She ran forward to meet the creature head on before a sudden burst of energy shot her through the air, blurring past the monkey as Adiel threw a knife directly to the back of its head. It crumpled to the ground in silence as she kicked off a tree to avoid the second and third as she touched back on the ground, more knives returning themselves to her person with one in each hand then.
XXX With more thrown at her, she weaved inbetween each, eyes locked on and her knives thrown accordingly as she dealt with the remaining creatures. Some had attempted to strike her with swinging arms were met with a knife to the hand or leg to stagger the creature before a swift dispatch to the head. Yet soon the chimps ceased as the trees around moved their limbs and rid the immediate area of the rest that couldn't make it past the constricting branches.
XXX Adiel breathed out as she closed her eyes, projecting her conscience near her original position and shifted through the air, teleporting shortly after. A brief translucent image of the elf would appear first and then the actual elf in the flesh, eyes still closed as she sighed aloud.
XXX "Been awhile." She said and opened her eyes again, the slight aura still coursing through her. "Mindless they are, but too easy..."
Adiel's fight was over just as quickly as Nai's and Nai had barely stood up straight when Ad returned to her side. The elf's words were few. Nai's were none. The mercenary merely nodded, finding nothing that needed an answer. If the undead were so easy, then that was good. It would just mean that the two of them alone might be able to completely resolve this issue.
Nai moved forward without a single signal, not even a wave of her hand. Her intent would be obvious almost immediately. The cassowary, large as it was, left a trail that even Nai could follow and she did just that. The monkeys had come from the same direction. There was probably something in that area. At the very least, it was the best direction Nai could think of.
If Adiel knew a better way of maneuvering through the forest than blindly following undead animal trails, now would be the time to say so. Otherwise, Nai was going to keep on going until she stumbled upon something... anything. Ah, the good old reality of scouting: more time spent lost than actually doing anything.

♤Michael Kasai♤ ♧Weapon Master-Marksman♧
What if all you understand, Could fit into the center of our hand, Then you found it wasn't you, Who held the sum of everything you knew,
The sun was high in the sky when two people would enter the Rainforest. The older of the two was reading a map that he had acquired in the nearby village that had hired the two to take care of the a group of Orc Axemen. Looking up from his map Michael Kasai would let out a loud sigh and replace the map in his inside coat pocket. "Geez this damn jungle is a maze eh sis? Well this is the last area they were seen sis, so be on your guard." With that he pulled out his twin semi automatic pistols and checked their chambers to make sure they were fully loaded. These enemies were known to be strong and could easily cleave them in two, so he definitely would have to use his Ranged weapons in this fight. "Well this should be interesting little sis. Like I told you when we took up this job, make sure that you don't get near these brutes ok?"

What if the one thing that I missed, Was everything I need to pass the test, And if I fail what happens then, Can I still count on you as a friend?
Break their hold 'Cause I won’t be controlled They can’t keep their chains on me When the truth has set me free
xxxRed eyes took in her surroundings as she played with the handle of her knife. She knew that what they were going to do was probably really dangerous, but she just couldn't seem to be bothered by it. She had her big brother there after all. That and the fact that she just didn't feel scared of dying made her a pretty tough nut to crack, or to even intimidate. She listened to her brother with half an ear, being more interested in seeing what all was going on around her. There was death everywhere. With this plague going around, it was like a playground for her. So many choices to pick for her undead minions. She was just waiting on the burials, then she could have her brother help her uncover them and she could do as she wished. She was looking for a perfect form right now, but she was just having a hard time finding exactly what she was looking for. It was rather frustrating. She blinked out of her thoughts as she looked to her brother, nodding her head. She knew. Those brutes could end her easily. She had every intention of just standing back behind her undead minions and letting them do the fighting for her. "Don't worry Onii-San. I know. That's what you and my minions are for. There's no need for me to get in the middle of it. We won't be completely useless should they get close though." She said with a small shrug as she went back to her daydreaming. She needed to find the parts she wanted, and soon. Otherwise the ones she had found were going to go to waste. She was barely able to keep them from rotting as it was. She sighed, knowing that she was going to have to summon minions for this fight. Closing her eyes briefly, she felt below the ground, feeling several souls calling out for revenge against these ogres that killed them. She smirked, knowing that there were then enough for her to summon a small army if she wanted. But she had to do it one at a time for now. Stretching, she kept her senses on high alert. She knew that they were nearby somewhere. She was going to wait for them to engage before she summoned them however. No sense in wasting her energy before they encountered the enemy.

What if all you understand, Could fit into the center of our hand, Then you found it wasn't you, Who held the sum of everything you knew,
A rather loud sigh would escape Michael's lips as he realized that his sister really didn't care about what he said. "You know I say this for your safety Imouto-chan. You may not fear death for a multitude of reasons, but you're not immortal yet. Until you have obtained that power I will worry about you, and I won't always be around to save you. And what if you run out of energy? How will you be able to protect yourself? I know it seems like I am just nagging at you but one day you will realize that it's for you're safety. How about after this you and I head to that graveyard near the house and finish harvesting those materials you need?"
At this point a loud snap was heard behind the two causing Michael to aim his pistols at the area where the noise came from. It then dawned on Michael that they were surrounded and had walked into a trap. Quickly holstering his pistols he drew what looked like a box from the small of his back. Clicking a button it began to quickly unfold and where the rectangular box had been a scythe now was in its place. Michael knew that this was going to get ugly so he decided he would end this quickly. Taking a running start at the nearest Orc he quickly slashed with the Evil Moon Technique, completely tearing the Orc in two.

xxxAgni gave her brother an annoyed look as he started to lecture her for not caring about this fight. It was kind of hard for her to when she had already killed someone. She knew Death more intimately then she was sure her brother did. However, the promise of being able to go hunt through graves for more parts made her grin and get excited, nodding her head as her sour mood turned right around. "Alright Big Brother! Let's finish this quickly then. We need to get back home before Sunset." She said as she heard the snap. It took her two seconds to assess that they were surrounded and sighed, stretching and sending her energy into the ground, 5 skeletons appearing out of the ground and raising their swords as they charged at the skeletons. She looked over at her brother, seeing him already reaching into his more powerful arsenal. She wasn't quite ready to reach that far yet. Instead, she held out her hand towards an orc that was starting to get to close, summoning up her flames and pushing them onto her knife with her fire touch, then deciding to do a flame blow to end it. She used her footwork to lithely get behind it before slashing into it and crumbling the Ogre. She sneered in disgust at it before moving away so that she had a bit more coverage to hide as her skeletal warriors attacked the ogres.

The orbs definitely outnumbered them still ten to two and Michael was definitely surprised they had been able to sneak up on them so easily. Wielding his scythe he kept on trying to avoid their axes and get in for the kill. Around this point his sister summoned her skeletons and went to work. Knowing he needed to end this soon he went on a more offensive approach. Gripping his scythe he would begin to charge energy into his weapon and then begin to spin like a Tornado. Going full speed at a small cluster of orcs he quickly separated their torsos from their legs as he used The Devil's Wheel. Looking over at his sister he noticed a few had gotten around her skeletons and were almost to her. Running at full speed he went to intercept them.

xxxAgni saw the ogres coming towards her and growled. Now what was she going to do? She wasn't that physically strong, and the other skeletons she had summoned had been smashed. She didn't want to use this much energy, but it seemed that she wasn't going to have a choice. If they got much closer, she was going to have issues. She saw her brother rushing towards her to intercept the ogres headed her way, but she wasn't going to depend on him making it. Sending her energy into the ground again, she summoned up 20 skeletons that surrounded her in a protective shield before starting to advance once more on the ogres. She knew that they needed a little more kick and took a deep breath, summoning her negative energy and turning it into the necrosis, focusing it as an aura around the skeletons and herself so that they would start to affect the ogres. "Stay away from us for right now Mike-Nii. I don't want you getting affected by this and getting hurt." She called out to her brother to get him to turn around. She made sure to focus her attacks in the other direction from her brother, This ability didn't care if you were friend or foe. Any organic being aside from herself was in danger from this ability. A sadistic smirk claimed her face as she started to see the skin of the ogres starting to rot off. This was getting fun. If these ogres weren't so dumb and boring, she might consider harvesting some of their bodies for her creations, but she couldn't stand the sight of these things. She didn't want them to have any part of her perfect creatures. So she could care less if they all rotted away to nothingness. She was rather enjoying this fight now. To bad she could tell it wasn't going to last much longer. Stretching again, she enjoyed the feelings of Death around her, a content sigh leaving her lips as her eyes turned to the sky and she giggled happily.
