Most of the following story takes place during The Grim Times.
Charles was originally a very wealthy child in a luxurious home. Everything was handed to him and he almost never had to work. Life for him was perfect, although he didn't have as many friends. Charles went to private school where knowledge was drilled into his brain. Later on in life he would graduate as head of his class. After he was done with private school it was assumed that he would become a successful lawyer like he had always wanted, however that was not where things were headed. Apparently he was abducted by a witch which would be identified as Arachne. Undergoing horrible experiments he would be among the first to become a demon weapon. It was a terrible experience for Charles, he describes this time in his life as purely torture and tears. If he were to ever escape this life and come home he would need to escape. Narrowly escaping the witch he was freed, however he left his fellow humans that were also among the first demon weapons to be created. He ran home with everything in his power and didn't dare to look back. As he found his way back home he was welcomed back, his parents were happy and tears of joy were shed, however this wouldn't be the last trace of Charles new life as a demon weapon.
To his dismay he had a hard time adapting to his old lifestyle and more importantly he had trouble hiding what he was from his parents. No matter how hard he tried the truth couldn't be hidden, he ended up fatally wounding his mother by accident with his demon weapon powers. Feeling so many emotions but mostly fear, he abandoned his mother who bled to death. Fear drove him to meet what he described as an odd bunch. It was a random day indeed, he had met with these people and learned a great deal from them. Although relations were good one of them took a liking to Charles. Asura would be the one to lead Charles down a path from no return. He took advantage of Charles and his fear and manipulated him into killing humans, he told him that the secret to controlling his powers were to eat pure human souls. The grief-stricken man obeyed, he parted ways with the warriors and took Asura's advice. Murdering humans so he could go back home. Eventually this lead to the creation of yet again, a new type of species. As he neared his final transformation he came across a witch, he had a strong disliking for witches, especially after what happened with Arachne. The man engaged in a battle with her and in the end he almost died, but he had obtained the last soul necessary for the creation of a demon sword. Falling deep into madness he began to lose himself, not too long later all demon swords would begin to vanish rapidly. Charles went into running at first, trying to escape the meisters that chose to not feed their weapons pure human souls. Eventually he would go into hiding after discovering a place where he could hide without his soul being discovered. As he hid he would develop a strong hatred towards the shinigami for creating the DWMA and bringing together meisters that would most likely kill off his kind as well if they had come across someone like him. Years passed and he only grew stronger but he knew that he would never be able to take down the shinigami unless he received help from a meister that had similar intentions as him. Although he had a strong grudge against meisters he knew that not all of them were out there were bad...or good in his case. Leaving behind the past he seeks out someone strong enough to handle him so that he may kill the shinigami and then destroy the DWMA along with death city and all its inhabitants.
My Beloved Rosa ~ Origins
Around the time Charles fled from meisters in hopes that he would survive he came across a small and desalinate cavern. Just the day before he had come into a struggle against a few meisters, Charles of course defeated them but just narrowly, he was gravely injured in the same way he had abandoned his mother. With more meisters coming after him he had to escape or else he would surely die, he fled as fast as he could, still injured badly. Eventually he would come across a rather peaceful area, among that area was the perfect hiding place, a dark cavern. It was in a rocky area and it wasn't too far from a village, Charles thought this would be the perfect opportunity to rest easy for a week or two. He believed it would take some time for the meisters to find him, even with his soul being easy to find they'd still need to travel miles and miles before they came across him. On his first day among the rocky mountain cavern located just past a forest and small climb away from a quiet town, he met with a girl named Rosa. She was beautiful and kind hearted, pure in every aspect. She was a giver and always took every opportunity to assist in those that she thought needed help. One day as she went out for a solitary hike she had come across Charles, he was careful at first but he had come to the conclusion that she had no intention of causing any harm to him. She noticed his wounds and addressed them, she told Charles her name and gave her complete trust right away. At first he thought that she was just an imbecile but he warmed up to her, she stood with them and they talked about lots of things. It only took one day for Charles to fall in love with her. As nightfall came she brought him some supplies so he could rest easy for his remainder of the time in the cavern, the entire night Charles couldn't get her out of his mind. Eventually weeks and then months pass, Charles had his wounds healed a long time ago and he and Rosa became good friends. Charles moved into the town and they began dating each other happily. Everything was perfect and the two were happy, she didn't mind that he was a demon sword but she didn't approve of what he had done to get to that point. She honestly believed that she could help him see the error of his ways and redeem himself, it took convincing but Charles was slowly breaking. Though feeling sorry for the lives he had taken would never turn him back to what he truly was at all. All he could do was repent his crimes to which made Rosa proud. She agreed to marry him and the two got married. Years later they would start a family to which perfected Charles life. Two kids and a loving wife was all he needed, of course the life of a commoner was hard to adjust, he did so with his family. Sadly things didn't always go the way Charles wanted it to go. Meisters eventually arrived in town and began asking questions. There was nothing left to do but abandon everything, almost everything. He found Rosa and told her what was happening, she reluctantly agreed to abandon her home town for Charles along with the children. As the family ran the meisters had given chase, there was no way to avoid what would come next. Coming across meisters that served under the academy and Lord Death himself as graduated death scythes, Charles would need to battle against unfair numbers. They didn't come for Rosa but they were intending to question her, nothing would have naturally befallen her if she had let herself be taken away but nothing could stop her from standing by Charles. The demon sword and death scythes fought a fierce and long battle but in the end there was no way he could handle the numbers, especially without a meister of his own to use him to his full potential. As they were about to give the ending blow that was ordered of them Rosa stepped in to take the blow, she fell into his arms and together they both shed tears. She told him that she was proud of the way Charles was handling himself, feeling guilt and recognizing what he had done was wrong. Believing that he could become a good person she told him that he should do his best to help people so that the burden of the deaths required to become a demon sword would become lightened somewhat. Rosa also told him that he needed to survive for her, she wanted him to find happiness instead of feeling the pain of what was to come next. Rosa gave back her wedding ring and then slowly died in his arms as Charles could do nothing. The death scythes were sad as well, they had killed someone they weren't suppose to and had to live with what little time they had knowing that. This didn't mean that they would forgive Charles either, they had a mission to complete and they weren't going to back down. Charles had stopped crying but his heart grew cold. He thought that the whole situation was the fault of the shinigami and the meisters, everything that they had done caused the love of his life to die in his arms. He rested her body gently on a nearby tree, then he ate her soul. After he had layer her body down the memories were fuzzy but Charles can recall somethings, her soul wasn't normal. It was different somehow and when he had eaten it his body felt like it was on fire. Zoning out he remembered the whole area was covered with body parts and blood but the only spot that wasn't tainted by the color crimson was the sport where Rosa's dead body slept, the kids had abandoned the area by this point. Taking her back to the town he buried her in the cemetery that was there, he even got a gravestone in the same day. Her grave was surrounded by beautiful flowers that she would have loved, among them was the one that she had said reminded her most of Charles, roses. Charles went to her house where the two had lived together and set it ablaze burning down all their belongings. Clothes, pictures, everything would be consumed by the flames. After this Charles moved on to find his lost children while at the same time developing his hatred for Lord Death and his agents even more.

Skills/Abilities:
+ Blood Manipulation - The main form of attack when Charles fights on his own. This allows him to control his own blood and use it as a weapon, this ranges from physical weapons to projectiles. It all leads up to one point that makes this ability deadly, hardening the blood. Charles can alter the shape and use it for multiple purposes, Charles has practiced this ability so well he can actually create wings of blood that allow him to stay airborne. Compared to black blood, it isn't as deadly unless the user actually knows what their doing. This can't be used too much because the wielders will most likely lose consciousness due to lack of blood, Charles is use to the massive amounts of blood it requires to pull off strong techniques and is therefore able to continue through long periods of time without worrying about fainting. So far he has been able to create a numerous amount of techniques using his blood. He has been able to use his blood to create bullets that are very lethal if they reach a vital point. Charles is capable of creating these claw-like constructs which also have multiple uses. Another amazing feat is his ability to create bombs of blood which can be detonated whenever he wishes. Charles can make shields and nets of his own blood. Finally he can reinforce his body with his blood to use as a sort of armor.
+ Wavelength Channeling Skill - When in his weapon form, Charles can channel the wavelength of his meister to perform a number of tasks. This could range from shooting wavelengths in the form of energy to enhancing Charles when he is in one of his blade forms. Charles can also project his own wavelength through the blade as well adding additional energy into most attacks. This skill can also be effective outside of his weapon form, he can shoot blasts of concentrated wavelengths at his enemies. The most notable extension of this skill is the ability to channel wavelengths into other forms besides beams and blasts such as orbs that hold highly explosive properties. Depending on the effort and user, these orbs can level things that can truly range up pretty high.
+ Vampire Physiology (Physical Enhancement) - After eating a vampire soul Charles gained many powers that are related and/or vampiric abilities themselves. His body was enhanced to the point in which his strength surpasses those of the average human. Lifting cars and trees are easy and causing craters from a carefully aimed fist is now possible. Enhanced vampiric strength mixed with the strength obtained by becoming a demon sword is a deadly pair. Bones snap easy and close combat would most likely kill you off if your not careful. Enhanced speed is also another good quality obtained by devouring Rosa's vampire soul. His agility is also enhanced to the point where his flexibility can't be acquired by that of the human race. Once again another physical enhancement has taken place. His combat as well as durability is physically enhanced. Charles also obtains night vision and enhanced senses, endurance is also given a massive boost. The last physical trait shown that is similar to a vampire's is the fangs of one itself, Charles now has fangs that he uses for multiple purposes. They retract when they need to so most people don't usually live to see this and tell the little tale.
+ Vampire Physiology (Blood Empowerment) - There have also been more gifts, or curses depending on how you look at it, granted to him that he obtained through Rosa's soul. Because he is living on as a sort of vampiric being he is cursed with the lust for blood. As if it weren't bad enough with his intense hunger for souls, blood can drive his madness further. If he were to smell blood it would provide an adrenaline enhanced state in which all of his physical traits are heightened, but at the cost of his own self control. Fighting to take hold of himself its not likely that Charles will be able to contain himself. If he were to drink blood it would calm him down a bit along with some additional effects. For one thing if he were to drink someone's blood a telepathic link would be set between Charles and that said person, depending on the amount of blood this could become permanent. If wanted. Drinking blood will also keep his physical traits enhanced for a longer amount of time once the adrenaline effect fades away. One thing that must absolutely never happen is the process in which Charles gets even a little taste of black blood. Although he has never come across someone that has black blood his adrenaline state will be heightened and he will become hostile, ally or not. Upon getting just a taste his physical body goes beyond the strength of even the almighty vampire race, unlike normal blood he will only want more. The best form of action during this situation would be to fill him up with normal blood so he isn't as hungry for it.
+ Vampire Physiology (Regenerative Healing Factor) - Perhaps the most vital ability within the arsenal of Charles. He has a healing factor that is so efficient its scary. Being impaled would most likely do little in finishing the task of killing him. This gift has helped Charles so much that he developed a natural resistance to pain. So far the extent shown was the ability to stick body parts back on and then have his regenerative abilities attach the selected limb back together. If he were to be stabbed in the heart not even that would kill him, the only way to finish him off would be to attack his brain. If his brain is only wounded by a minor amount it can regenerate as well but it would be a lot slower than fixing limbs, he'd also most likely lose most memories he's had as well as a few more selected problems. Regenerating minor wounds can be used once with a two post cooldown. Moderately inflicted wounds have a five post cooldown. Finally a major wound such as limb dismemberment is a twenty post cooldown.
+ Vampiric Resonance (Curse of The Vampire) - When resonating with his meister partner he is able to share his powers, even his curse of being a vampire with that person. They will be able to manipulate blood and perform the same techniques that Charles knows, with practice comes better outcome. They will share his regenerative abilities, but not in the same way as Charles. Once they enter full on resonance mode they will regenerate from existing wounds, for beginners they heal moderately. Experts will be able to regenerate seventy percent of injuries. Even his physical enhancements will be passed down, if the meister using him is already physically capable then it will stack. With this technique, unfortunately, includes his weakness. Those using Charles will have a craving for blood. If they are hungry then they will gain his adrenaline-enhanced state where all physical enhancements are pushed to extraordinary heights, but they will also lose their self control. This lasts for ten posts with a eight post cool down. As the meister using him becomes more accustomed then this may increase. (Will add how long it lasts once I cross that bridge.)
+ Vampiric Resonance (The Sanguine Warrior) - This is a lesser resonance that allows the meister to use Charles' blood manipulation without all the other added vampiric effects. It requires both sides to resonate wavelengths, but not on the level of a true resonance. This is a passive ability whenever a meister is wielding him.

Personality: Charles is very wise and mature for his age. He hasn't aged a bit but just by talking to him you can see he is a very knowledgable person that has a very unique outlook on most things. He is always calm in most situations and never lets his emotions cloud his sense of judgement. Charles can be stuck up and cruel at times but that usually depends on the person or people he communicates with. Very predictable and never rash he takes his time analyzing situations before he reacts, part of him will always remain under the influence of madness however most people wouldn't really see what that part is. One thing Charles will most likely never do is kill anyone that can't defend themselves, he doesn't pick on the weak and will never take the life of a child unless its absolutely necessary such as destroying death city and taking the souls of all its inhabitants.

Upon getting just a taste his physical body goes beyond the strength of even the almighty vampire race, unlike normal blood he will only want more. The best form of action during this situation would be to fill him up with normal blood so he isn't as hungry for it.
+ Vampire Physiology (Regenerative Healing Factor) - Perhaps the most vital ability within the arsenal of Charles. He has a healing factor that is so efficient its scary. Being impaled would most likely do little in finishing the task of killing him. This gift has helped Charles so much that he developed a natural resistance to pain. So far the extent shown was the ability to stick body parts back on and then have his regenerative abilities attach the selected limb back together. If he were to be stabbed in the heart not even that would kill him, the only way to finish him off would be to attack his brain. If his brain is only wounded by a minor amount it can regenerate as well but it would be a lot slower than fixing limbs, he'd also most likely lose most memories he's had as well as a few more selected problems. Regenerating minor wounds can be used once with a two post cooldown. Moderately inflicted wounds have a five post cooldown. Finally a major wound such as limb dismemberment is a twenty post cooldown.
+ Vampiric Resonance (Curse of The Vampire) - When resonating with his meister partner he is able to share his powers, even his curse of being a vampire with that person. They will be able to manipulate blood and perform the same techniques that Charles knows, with practice comes better outcome. They will share his regenerative abilities, but not in the same way as Charles. Once they enter full on resonance mode they will regenerate from existing wounds, for beginners they heal moderately. Experts will be able to regenerate seventy percent of injuries. Even his physical enhancements will be passed down, if the meister using him is already physically capable then it will stack. With this technique, unfortunately, includes his weakness. Those using Charles will have a craving for blood. If they are hungry then they will gain his adrenaline-enhanced state where all physical enhancements are pushed to extraordinary heights, but they will also lose their self control. This lasts for ten posts with a eight post cool down. As the meister using him becomes more accustomed then this may increase. (Will add how long it lasts once I cross that bridge.)
+ Vampiric Resonance (The Sanguine Warrior) - This is a lesser resonance that allows the meister to use Charles' blood manipulation without all the other added vampiric effects. It requires both sides to resonate wavelengths, but not on the level of a true resonance. This is a passive ability whenever a meister is wielding him.
+ More skills and abilities will be learned and/or revealed as I use this character a bit more.
Personality: Charles is very wise and mature for his age. He hasn't aged a bit but just by talking to him you can see he is a very knowledgable person that has a very unique outlook on most things. He is always calm in most situations and never lets his emotions cloud his sense of judgement. Charles can be stuck up and cruel at times but that usually depends on the person or people he communicates with. Very predictable and never rash he takes his time analyzing situations before he reacts, part of him will always remain under the influence of madness however most people wouldn't really see what that part is. One thing Charles will most likely never do is kill anyone that can't defend themselves, he doesn't pick on the weak and will never take the life of a child unless its absolutely necessary such as destroying death city and taking the souls of all its inhabitants.
