Before he took his leave, Roland promised her they would do the training course together when he came back. So one day, a few days after he came back, she dressed simply, a pattern hoodie, shorts, leggings with a pair of easy-to-move flat platform boots. She also tied her excessive long hair into a neat bun. When everyone was prepared, she sent a message to Roland.

Text to Shu: Nothing eventful, but yeah I'm more then ready.
Pocketing his phone Roland finished getting ready, it wasn't hard. He simply grabbed a pair of dark blue jeans and an oversized grey hoodie, sleeves rolled up so not to kill him in the heat, but something he wouldn't care if the shadows ripped up.
"So Shu, you ready to go bop some shadows on the head with that hammer of yours?" They where standing outside the training portals, the blue glowing entrance swirling lazily as a near by tech yawned, he was bored, he wanted to see Trainee's getting stomped, maybe this would be a decent run for him to watch?
The first thing when Shu met someone was staring at them. From looking at Roland, she made the conclusion that hoodie was the correct answer. The petite trainee smiled with excitement, "YES I am 100% ready~ B-But can I get a briefing what will be the process of the run?" Like a dungeon run, it's better to know what they are going to face and be prepared psychologically before entering. Z, on the other hand, was eager to prove himself, he was very dissatisfied and resentful about her comment of a dagger would be much better than him, the greatest omnipotent Zai Tai sama.
The girl made a bow as greeting to the tech as she waited for Roland to brief her. Of course, she won't wait her time to shoot another question. "How's your leave? Where did you go?" She kicked the dust on the ground, seemed to doodle something or just drawing circles.

Roland nodded, though his hoodie was far less important, Shu's actually looked kinda nice actually, but that was her choice, not his. Smiling a bit more he nodded to Shu. "It's pretty easy. Well in theory. When we walk through the portal we have to go down a long hall, really more of a cave, inside shadows will attack us. We kill them, we reach the portal we win."
He waved his hand about the leave, "No where important just supply gathering, I've got a decent amount of cash and I needed more clothes so I could ware stuff like this to training instead of my jacket." He stretched briefly before summoning Sylvia resting her over his shoulder. "You have any leave time you haven't used?" He asked as he started towards the portal.
Sun Hunter SHADOW RUN
General Information The Shadow Run is both the simplest and most dangerous training course that can be run without a golem. A flurry of continuous attacks is what the Sun Division holds in highest respect, and the course reflects that. The course itself is a simple tunnel, reached via portal. Within the tunnel await hundreds of weak, hungry shadowlings. Nothing to worry about on their own, but capable of overwhelming a Hunter through sheer numbers at the first moment of weakness. At the other end of the tunnel is another portal, leading back to the course observation booth.
If you fail: your character is KO'd, but there's always a senior hunter in the observation booth with enhanced bandages at the ready. They should reach you in time. Really. Trained and trusty professionals on-hand 24/7.
If you win: peen points and bragging rights to those who take out the greatest number of shadowlings and go the most turns without needing to attempt a recovery maneuver.
Mechanics You must get through 5 waves of attacks to make it through the tunnel. Simply roll for attack as you would in battle. If you miss, your character falters in their attacking and is overwhelmed by shadowlings. After 3 successful hits, you may use your weapon's charge attack.
Bonus Mechanics This bonus is consumable. The bonus in this course is in the form of "recoveries" ~ these are would-be missed attacks that are quickly recovered and turned into a successful hit. Basically, they can miss once and roll again for an extra try. If you keep consecutively missing, though, and run out of recoveries, it's lights out. These do not equal an automatic pass for a round, you still have to land a successful hit to proceed.

At the same time Roland described her the run, some images were forming in her mind. It might be different, but it will help a bit, she thought. "I-It sounds easy....." but who knows what her performance would be, it might be easy to Roland, but surely not an amateur trainee who was lack of practice. "I-I will do my best."
"Oh~ I see." She nodded. "Shopping sounds great~ I think I need more clothes too." Seeing Roland summoned Sylvia, she grabbed onto the necklace to summon Z too. "Nope. We are not allowed to leave the island, so no leaves for me......." She might be pouting, thinking that how far she was behind of the arpakasso collection. There was no internet on the island, she couldn't order any purchase because she didn't have the list on hand.
Shu followed after Roland to get into the portal, the tunnel was dark, very dark.
"You'll do fine, just no dropping your weapon, and keep going forward no matter what, if something goes wrong a tech will pull you out."
Almost at the portal he sighed, "Oh to be a trainee again, it's horrible but it gets a little better. I get two leave days a month now and a bit of decent pay. When I got here I only had a go bag. Lots of plain shirts and pants, nothing comfy."
He waved his hand, "We can chat more after the course though."
Stepping into the portal the darkness became apparent, they only had a moment to adjust to the dim light of their weapons runes lighting the long cave. At once red eyes stared back coming to life as the shadows moved forward. At once Roland started to spin Sylvia, "They don't wait very long!"
His mentioned of dropping the weapon colored her face with a flush and a nod to let him know she was listening. Roland suggested that all trainees began in the same way, while giving her some hopes. "When I get stronger." She whispered to herself while grabbing her hand into a fist, a sign of determination. "Um." She nodded, wanting to chat more with him too.
It was really hard to adjust your eyes when the inside and outside were two completely different stories. Z rudely reminded. Shu was glad that they have the runes for illuminating that she could see how badass Roland swung his scythe, just like the anime character. It was so different from the spar they did, much more destructive, powerful and smoother.
At similar time as his warning came, the shadowlings started to surround her and some even jumped up to claw at her. With a small scream and a swing, four were pushed away from the path.
Yet, more coming.
Shu closely ran after Roland to take care the attack from the back, while paying attention to the two sides.

He wasn't talking much once they got inside, his eyes narrowed slightly as he saw more of the shadows lunging forward a few quick spins, a flip and twist, Sylvia lashed out but they grew wise and backed away.
Huffing slightly he gave his weapon a twist and what happened next was a very unique thing indeed, Sylvia seemed to fall apart. Between each plate in her twisting form a chain seemed to appear as she fell limp in Roland's hands like a strange over sized whip with a scythe at the end. Again he lashed out throwing Sylvia towards the shadows that escaped, only a few fell but it was enough.

It was probably not to be distracted in the tunnel, those shadowlings didn't allow break and swarmed them trial after trial, like the quicksand that attempted to swallow you if you don't pay attention. The Death Trainee continued to swing her hammer from time to time while admiring Roland's scythe art.
Z, how can he swing it that cool like the anime character? Shu asked her weapon while trying to think of a male character that swings a scythe. However, as she recalled most of the one use scythe were girls, she couldn't help but chuckled behind him.
He took out four, she took out two. As she thought they could just go on with this mode, what happened shocked her. Sylvia was transformed into a whip, giving Roland wider attack scope and can attack from different angles with less limitation. What? How? The girl was totally startled at what happened that she missed one or two shadowlings that clawed at her legs.
She must ask him about that after this! So amazing! It's a must.

It was time and practice, and a whole lot of trial and error that finally got Roland to where he was when it came to using Sylvia. A hooked blade on a long pole was not the most efficient weapon, but it was unique and even more so with it's other tricks.
It still wasn't anything compared to Circe though.
Lashing his arm out wide Sylvia's head snapped across the cave cutting down three more shadows, as soon as the blade past three more rush in, a quick jerk of the hand brought the scythe flying back. Without missing a beat he dropped the chain he had just tugged catching the scythe just under the head of the blade slashing three more times to cut another three shadows down.
<< Better. Say where did you come up with such a move? >> He could see Sylvia grinning in his head.
< Probably that time we nearly got choked to death by a mindflayer. It works well enough. >
The two shared a laugh, one that would probably confuse poor Shu because why would Roland start laughing in the middle of this? Seriously!?

Time and practice surely mattered a lot, see how the girl awkwardly swung the hammer with her clumsiness and occasionally stumbled. The only light source were their weapon runes and the portal in front of them, which seemed to take ages to reach. She was running, foot stepped out before reaching the ground. She now understood why it was called a Run.
Panting, she still tried her best not to create any trouble for Roland who had a great time dealing with the shadowlings. Shu raised up her hammer and flatten one while then swung to take out another one.
There were three blocked exact the path after Roland passed, she dropped Z low in a dragging manner but not touching the ground. She lunged towards the triple and hit them from left to right, pressing them into lovely wall decorations.
The laugh was noticed, but Shu only thought Roland enjoyed the run so much. How could she be as skillful as him over weapon handling? There was no redundant actions and each action was smoothly succeeded by another.
Simply impressive.

It would all come in time, Shu and Z would reach the levels others where at if she practiced and learned from her weapon. It wasn't really said how a weapon should be used more so felt and grown over time.
Some where among the noise, and the banter between them, Sylvia had started to hum and sing, the tell tale sign of her charge being ready in the back of his head. With another flick of his wrist the scythe snapped back together, each part clattering and clanking with sound as it reformed one solid weapon.
He glanced over his shoulder at Shu for only a moment as he started to pinwheel the scythe above his head, "Get ready! It's about to be very loud!"
After he gave his warning he slammed Sylvia down into the ground with a cry of strength, his scream was joined by Sylvia's as she burst out with a ghastly wail that sent blades of sound and wind down through the cavern cutting a path for them to follow. Even as it happened small cuts opened up over Roland before they quickly healed up. As soon as it started it was over, for only a moment the shadows paused before continuing to attack.

A toy hammer was never her pick when playing MMORPG, usually she would choose swift dual blades or dagger instead of bulky destructive weapon like hammer. It was quite surprised that she got a hammer as weapon, though she really liked the color of Z. Shu understood if she had to make good use of Z, she needed to train her stamina and strength because swinging the hammer requires a full body movement.
Still keeping close with Roland, she jumped and dodged the creepy hands reached out for her. Sometimes they even slipped down from above, seizing her hair bun. She squatted to evade it while the hunter called from the front. From the gap, she could see Sylvia vibrated in a happy sound wave as if she was singing. The petite trainee returned with a nod and covered her ears, eyeing closely what would happen next.
Shu was so glad that she covered her ears, the cry from the scythe was devastating but impressive. The sound even created a blow of wind, dragging the air to move forward. It lasted only a few seconds, as if nothing had happened. Z was not happy with that, his own huntress was admiring another weapon, so he ordered her to use their charge.
The runes on the hammer glowed bright and the hammer itself vibrated excitedly. "P-Please step aside." It was her turn to warn him. Finding a good location, she detached the ball from the shaft and started to swirl her arm holding the hammer. When it turned around in a stable stage, the girl started to swivel as well, the two speeds of movement soon synchronized into one, forming a mini tornado with Shu in the middle, blocking the gang of shaodwlings attempted to attack her. Even more, a beast can be seen dashing aside the flying ball, knocking off the shadowlings on its way. It constantly roared without sound being heard and vanished when she stopped spinning. The sharp edge of the winds made cuts on her body, like hundred of paper-cut.
I don't want to do this again, Z, it's exhausting!
Z's tone was rather happy, maybe he think that was a decent show-off and counter-attack.
It's slow and tiring!
Boys.
She sighed.

For Roland it was always a sword in MMO's, or an archer of some sort, guns where always his choice. In real life even he knew how to fire a gun, yet somehow he ended up with a scythe.
Sylvia had finished her song and left the path somewhat clear, Roland looked back grinning at Shu, "That's how Sylvia likes to sing." Pulling his scythe back he prepared for the next wave. What happened next caught his attention though.
He watched for a moment as she started to spin, eyes widening he rolled to the side just as the beast of her weapon was summoned forther storming around knocking shadowlings side to side and stomping others flat.
She actually did better then he did!
They didn't have long to rest though, Roland stood up quickly lashing out with Sylvia cleaving a few shadows in half.
"Come on! We're almost there!" Bringing his weapon back in close before dragging it along the ground with a shower of sparks he started to cut through other shadows spinning and twisting as he got closer to the exit. When he finally got to it he turned around hacking down a few more shadows waiting for Shu to join him before he dove through.
