Chozi was lingering in the Pridelands longer than he expected, honestly. It'd be a week now, and he had yet to move on, but something was keeping him here for a time. Of course, he would have to leave soon. Having left his small daughter with a slave so he could travel was not something he thought he would ever do, but it seemed the habit was very hard to break
Next time, perhaps, he would take his daughter to see her mother, he mused quietly to himself as he walked in the light-filled pride. It was unusual for him to be surrounded by so many other creatures and not have mud beneath his feet, and he found himself missing home quite a lot.
Still, the homesickness would not stop the young cheeton from enjoying the sun. In fact, he found the sunniest patch to sprawl in, and perhaps company would meander by in this large, flourishing pride.

Erevu was on his way back from the border, slightly weary and tired. He had another morning shift, something he didn’t prefer in the least. Of course, it was way better than scouting at night. And despite his dislike for those particular shift, he wouldn’t complain. He respected his position and the Heads too much to whine over something simple as waking up too early or getting home too late. Someone had to do it.
And so, with rusty red eyes squinting in the sun, he made his way back.
He was passing a sleeping lion when something caught his eyes. Blinking, he stopped and doubled back, staring at the lion curiously, not realizing just how rude he was being. The lion looked rather… weird. His eyes narrowed, trying to figure out the puzzle, before widening. Was he a hybrid? ”Excuse me,” he greeted lowly, eyes not flickering away. ”Are you a… well, a hybrid?” he asked bluntly.

Chozi watched the clouds for a moment, near startled out of his skin when he heard the voice of a lion. One with quite a rude question if he did say so himself. If it was anyone else besides the weary now-parent cheeton, the lion would probably get a lecture on tact!
Instead, Chozi stretched lazily and yawned. "Quite so," He said instead, eyeing the lion. "Who wants to know?" The cheeton patted the ground near him gently, offering the lion a place to sit, or to at least get close.
Chozi didn't want to get up, he was quite relaxed where he was laying, thank you, but he didn't want a crick in his neck either. It would only be polite of the lion, but with the question asked so bluntly, the wasn't quite sure if the lion would follow the suggestion.

Erevu realized his rudeness and ducked his head, a bit bashfully, catching his tongue. ”Sorry, I’ve just… never seen an hybrid,” he murmured. Eyeing the spot that was patted, he paused for only a brief moment before taking a seat. ”Sorry,” he decidedly said after a moment. ”That was rather rude of me.”
He kept giving side glances to the hybrid, unable to help himself. It was fascinating, in his mind. Nearly lion-like but not quite. His tail flicked. ”What’s your name?” he asked, offering an attempt at conversation, words unsure. Were hybrid’s temperaments different? Did his rudeness unnerve him? Slowly, he tried testing the waters.
