Not too soon did he come upon a brown lioness he had yet to speak to before. Come upon being nearly mowing right through her. Stopping abruptly, he mumbled out an apology, and moved to sidestep her. But then, halted. Impulsively, he asked her a question.
“Do you know where Yai lives?” he asked the unacquainted lion before realizing just how foolish the question was. If only he could swat himself. Erevu ducked his head bashfully, thoroughly embarrassed by his rash question, before shaking out his mane nervously and glancing up. ”Ah… sorry, sorry. You probably wouldn’t know.”

It had been a hard day for Mati. For some reason she couldn't remember chunks of it and she was missing more of past memories. She couldn't remember the face of her travelling companion that she had just left days before - days! Or was it weeks? She gave a frustrated huff, snarling at the air. She could remember his name though - Faudi... Faudi!
Maybe she could ask Areo to describe him to her. Had the two even met? She didn't remember at all, oh dear.
She was deep in her thoughts when a young lion began speaking to her.
"Oh, hello!" She smiled kindly at him. If anything, she was kind to everyone who she came across, despite the muddy memory. "I'm sorry, I don't believe I know your Yai, but I can hardly remember yesterday," Mati told him sincerely, though the apology was clear in her tone.

”A-Ah, alright,” he responded politely, albeit with a tone of disappointment. What did he expect? Shaking his head, he forced himself to grin more, believing her to be merely jesting. ”I know that feeling,” Erevu related, nodding in agreement.
Feeling it to be rather rude to just ask the lioness a question before leaving, he decided to introduce himself to her. ”I’m Erevu,” the lion informed her before hesitating. He had never seen her before but that meant very little; the Pridelands was large. There was bound to be plenty of lions and lionesses he’s never laid eyes on before. Still though, curiosity ebbed at him. ”Do you live here?” he asked curiously.

Mati gave the young lion a kind smile, rocking on her feet a bit. He looked like a nice male. "I'm Mati, if you'd like to call me that," she had a longer name, but she'd have to ask Areo for it again. She told him what it was, but she couldn't quite recall what it was. "I do live here, though I don't think I've lived here long," she sighed before returning her attentions to the lion. "It's nice to meet you, Erevu."

”Nice to meet you as well, Mati,” he replied back. Erevu blinked, watching her rock, before sitting down. Was she restless about something? Or attention drawn elsewhere? Studying her for a moment, his ears perked at the sigh, rusty eyes studying her closely.
”You do?” he asked with a slight frown. He’s never seen her before. Though, she was new. And he was rather new to his rank. Really, it couldn’t be out of the usual. Brushing aside his frown, he smiled. ”Well, I believe we’ll have more chances to run into each other,” he remarked positively. ”Where were you from, originally? If you don’t mind me asking.”
