A Nephilim is typically described as an offspring of an angel and a demon. however, a nephilim can also have human heritage as well, though they may lack much of the power and features of a true full-blooded nephilim.
Renier is a late descendant of a nephilim, long diluted by human blood, he is currently around 7/8ths human, 1/16th angel, and 1/16th demon.
Renier's unique heritage grants him several perks. they are as follows...
- Improved physical attributes as compared to an average human.
- Improved learning aptitude as compared to the average human.
- Greatly increased lifespan as compared to that of a full human.
- Aptitude for using things both Divine and Demonic in nature.
Parish Upbringing:
Renier grew up as an orphan raised in a parish, he was raised to become a priest of the parish, but oftentimes shirked off training to visit villagers and learn how they did things. because of this, Renier learned the following skills which he has honed to varying degrees (only notable skills will be noted for certain useful things where clarification of viable knowledge is needed, some things may be elaborated on additionally later on as character development occurs).
His trade skills knowledge includes, but is not limited to, Priesthood(Journeyman): Blessing of Silver Blacksmithing(apprentice): Gunsmithing(repairing), metalworking Apothecary/Alchemy(apprentice): Basic herbalism and foraging knowledge. Carpentry(apprentice): Basic knowledge of carpentry and tool use.
Weaknesses: Nephilimic Heritage:
While Renier's heritage does grant him several perks, it also has many drawbacks as well. they are as follows...
- increased susceptability to things of divine and demonic nature. While Renier may have the ability to use both, he is also vulnerable to both as well.
- Nausea from prolonged presence within consecrated areas such as churches.
- Near Insatiable Hunger: Renier cannot go for too long without food without becoming extremely hungry, this is why he typically carries around many snack type items. While he may not starve, he finds it difficult to think and finds his strength lessened and his action/reactions sluggish as compared to normal.
- Pariah of Outcasts: Renier finds himself often shunned, castigated, and even at times hunted by humans, angels, and demons alike for his mixed heritage, while he longs for companionship, he has found himself becoming more and more of a recluse and paranoid of others intentions because of it.
The Great Sleeper:
Renier is an extremely heavy sleeper, and on top of this, he snores very loud, making him an easy target to find and surprise when he is otherwise indisposed.
Bio: Renier's earliest memories consist of a dark night and the sound of many horses, running frantically as men's shouts blended with the sounds of their hooves on the ground, memories like this are just fragments of his past he barely knew thanks to the zealous efforts of the aggregation and their mission to wipe the world of all nephilim like him and those who would consort with his kind. he was left in front of the chapel of a parish far away from Hawthorne Ridge, along with him, a frantically scrawled note written in blood asking for the parish to take in the child and keep him safe. The parish took the child in and raised him like any other, and when he showed an aptitude for knowledge, they decided to set him on the path of the priesthood, though, as they would find, he was not a child that was easily satisfied with learning about just one thing or being cooped up inside. Renier would often wander through the parish and the nearby forest, often tagging along and questioning the parishioners about their daily tasks and helping them with such.
Renier's life continued on like this until shortly after his 16th birthday, when he received a strange letter in the mail with nothing more than his name written on it. the contents of the letter told him about his Nephilim Heritage and that if we wanted answers as to he was, he should set out for the city of Hawthorne Ridge. Renier kept this letter secret from the others, as he knew how they would most likely react to the knowledge of what he was.
It wasn't soon after this that Renier was asked by the apothecarian to fetch a specific grass that grew several days up river from the parish. when Renier had returned, the parish appeared deserted, save for the priest whom Renier found praying at the parish center. The priest had found the letter among Renier's things and demanded that he leave before an ill fate befell the parish. Renier knew what to expect, but it didn't make it hurt any less. Feeling that fate was pushing him forward, Renier took what possessions of his he could and set forth on a long journey for Hawthorne Ridge.
As Renier traveled across the land on his journey, he found that word of what he was had spread as well, and while he could find those who did not care of his heritage, encounters such as these were often overshadowed by those who would show that he was less than wanted there. As he Continued his journey, he found that the closer he got to Hawthorne Ridge, the less he found that people were familiar with him or what he was.
after four years of traveling had passed, Renier had finally arrived at Hawthorne Ridge, only to find a town which was not quite what he had expected. for some reason, he had expected a town which could be a place of refuge for himself. what he found however, seemed to be quite the opposite.
Renier has kept a low profile in Hawthorne Ridge for the majority of his years there, waiting for whomever, or whatever sent that letter to present itself to him. He has earned a fair living selling blessed silver, and doing odd jobs of metalworking, alchemy, and whatever else he can find. He has so far been able to pass himself off as a full human, but he often wonders how long that will last.
(will be continued) (i apologize if this does not fully fit the motif of the guild, i will correct anything necessary upon my next login after a critiquing)
Okay I was gonna freak out but I decided that yur stregths and weaknesses kinda even out. I will say though please be more specific about the species cause its somethin everyone will have to google. Also it is an AWFUL lot of abilities so imma just make sure you don't go crazy. Like he can't be an absolute expert on all feilds, like knowing a lot and knowing absolutely everything are different and if he does know a rediculous amount excentuate hos weaknesses.
Right now he seems to be a jack of all trades and that ain't cool. Like perhaps he knows a lot about smithing but he can't perform it cause he doesn't wanna get burneed? Yknow? Sorry I'm on my phone

ive made some minor revisions to the profile.
This character was not intended to be a jack of all trades type, rather, the majority of his skills are around the level of a tinkerer or a dabbler, meaning his knowledge would not go far beyond what would be considered common knowledge of the skills, which is primarily there as a supplement to his backstory and maybe minor use with the character in case specific scenarios. the only tradeskill he has journeyman level skill at is being a priest, which again, is explained in the bio as to why that is.
I did not think that nephilim was so obscure, i thought that was a fairly well known thing. and as far as the nephilimic heritage stuff goes, that could easily have been left out and been explained in rp as a race benefit thing, i just thought it'd be nice to include it for informational purposes and upfrontness, the same could be said about the whole parish upbringing thing as well and the majority(if not all) of it could have been left as simply being referenced in the bio again, which would certainly leave it open for a more jack-of-all-trades character, but i thought it would be a shorter list to name things he can do, rather than things where his experience does not go anything beyond common knowledge. hey may be a gunsmith, but he's lacking in the knowledge of things such as honing a pistol for accuracy or more complex things of that nature. the same can be said for herbalism/alchemy, he knows where to better find certain herbs and maybe some of their uses in medicine or chemistry, but he again lacks the greater knowledge required to say brew the actual medicine or refine the things into a purer form.
My plan for this character was to create him with a solid foundation from which to actually develop him and his skills as time progresses.
I apologize if this came off as wordy, i tend to do that with explanation stuff, which is evident in my entire profile for most things.
