Glitch wasn't quite sure how he felt about being here. He had left the hidey hole he shared with Fox this morning with every intent of heading into the Tower and getting some repairs done. General maintenance stuff really! Wouldn't take too long and he'd be back there before she noticed he was gone. (or so he thought, that wasn't very likely though).

But the closer he got to the Tower itself the less sure he felt this was a good idea. In and out...right? Or would they wonder where he had been...and where his handler Fox was? She had already made it clear she didn't want to return, and the last thing he'd do was drag her back unwillingly or point out her location. So....what else was there to do?

The fake unicorn wandered the streets near the Tower, simply trying to enjoy being near the normal City again and not the wreck of a place the outer limits were. Things were together here, and he didn't have to use up his energy running simple things like lights. It was nice to just relax and look at normal things.

Well, as normal as things got in Wily's City at least.

Nothing in the City was normal to Nireill yet.

She was still spending her days wandering the streets and gawking, barely able to take in anything before something else amazing snatched her attention away. She was acting like the puppy she just barely wasn’t, honestly, but she just couldn’t help it! It was nothing like where she grew up, everything was new and exciting- there were things here she didn’t even understand what they did, let alone how.

At the moment, she’d stopped in front of a sleek vending machine just outside a store, her flighty attention grabbed by the brightly colored cans (so it didn’t take much to distract her okay- quiet you). After a moment of consideration, she dug a handful of coins from her bag and plunked them into the machine, and tapped out the code for something in a vividly purple can- it was her favorite color, and that was a totally fine way to choose a drink flavor, thank you very much.

…Nothing happened.

She tilted her head, blinking in confusion at the machine, and typed out the code again. Still nothing. Now frowning lightly, she instead tapped the button to make it spit out unspent money. And pressed it again. And again.

The machine had eaten her money.

She’d brought everything she could scrape together when she’d made her way to the City, but she’d found that her funds were disappearing far, far faster than she’d expected- what was she even doing wasting it on soft drinks anyways? Even that little bit could have gone towards a good meal, or paying for her room, or putting out a notice in a newsfeed or something to find her siblings. And now she didn’t even have a drink to show for it.

She dropped her head with a miserable groan, leaning her forehead against the glass and giving it a weak thwap with a fist. Worst day.

I have no idea if a vending machine is even something he could plug into. xD If not, maybe he’d be willing to give it a kick to help out instead. xD

For a moment it seemed that Glitch would walk right past the Citizen in need. He was whistling happily to himself, tail swishing back and forth as he passed the vending machine. But....well then he noticed there was something different about this particular vending machine. Namely that someone was leaning against it in a rather miserable state.

Hrm....

He turned, sliding up beside her to get a better look.
"....Lemme guess, it ate your money or something, they do that a lot."
Glitch shook his head, giving the vending machine a tap. Maybe one day they'd get all the machines in perfect running order again. But until then, at least he was around and capable of fixing things for people!

Well...when he knew they were in trouble at least.

"Gimme a sec, I'll fix it for you."
He pulled away, sliding over to a port on the machine's side. Popping that open, the 'unicorn' allowed the wires from his tails to plug into the machine. Hrm....seems the last thing it had done was allow the purple drink to be selected, but something had gotten caught and glitched the machine into not dispensing it.

Well, Glitch was here to fix the glitch at least.

A few moments later the machine dispensed the desired drink, and Glitch disconnected from the machine.
"There ya go, all better yes?"
He was grinning, tail swishing behind him. Surely he had done good!

Too caught up in her own berating thoughts to notice anything going on around her, Nir jumped noticeably when a stranger suddenly spoke at her side, a hand slapped over her mouth much too late to muffle the embarrassing ‘eep!’ that escaped her. ”Um, sorry,” she murmured sheepishly after taking a moment to calm herself. ”Not paying very good attention today, I guess, I didn’t see you there.”

Then his words registered fully, and her face fell at the reminder of her beverage misfortune. “Um, yeah, it…” She trailed off uncertainly as he promised to fix it and moved around the side of the machine, peering around the corner to watch… Whatever it was he was doing? A moment later, she was startled again by the unexpected ‘thunk’ of a drink hitting the bottom of the machine.

There was a long pause where all she did was blink, staring at the shiny purple can in bewildered silence.

“Whoa…” After a moment, her expression of shock melted into starry-eyed excitement, tail swishing ridiculously fast behind her as she looked up at her unexpected saviour. “That was awesome! Oh wow, how’d you do that? You didn't even kick it or anything!”

She’d also now managed to completely forget about the drink.

Glitch was grinning ear to ear, his tail wagging faster and faster behind him.

"Kick it? Nah! I'm Glitch, I don't -have- to do those things."
The tail draped over his shoulder a moment, the wires hanging down across his chest.

"See these? All I gotta do is plug em into stuff around here and it works. Guess it's all part of being a machine ya know? Really it's mostly for downloading information, but I can make stuff work too. Such as faulty vending machines."
Soon enough his tail was back to wagging behind him, the wires dancing around.

"Soooo...you know I'm Glitch. What's your name? Are you from around here or are you new? New Audio are always interesting..."

Glitch took a moment to breathe (a very unrobot-like motion) and simply waited for the answers to his many questions. His head tilted slightly, gaze focused on the bright colored Audio before him.

Hey, kicking vending machines was a totally valid tech-support option.

Unfortunately, she didn’t register most of his explanation, because her mind stuck hopelessly on one thing. “You’re a machine?” Her jaw dropped- he didn’t look like a machine. He looked… Pretty normal- fluffy, just like everyone else she’d ever met, other than the unusual tail he’d now pointed out. He was actually all metal under there? ”Whoa…” As said tail shifted back to behind its owner, Nir actually followed, walking halfway around him in order to keep staring at the shifting cables. So cool…” she breathed quietly, more to herself than anything.

The request for her name was enough to snap her back into some semblance of manners though, and she quit her blatant staring in order to look him in the face again. “Oh, I’m Nireill! But you can call me Nir.” As she introduced herself she held out a hand to shake, grinning ear to ear. Who’d have guessed that she’d get to meet a robot today!

Coolest. Thing. Ever.

“I’m new here, actually! I came to visit my brother and sister now that I’m old enough to travel on my own, but I, uh, didn’t realize just how big this place is, so I haven’t been able to find them yet.” Because the jerks had never bothered to tell her exactly where in the City they lived, just ribbed her for asking too many questions. Hmph. “But I will! And then I’ll chew them out for not telling me how awesome it is here! Seriously, have you seen that one really huge building? I think it’s bigger than the whole town I grew up in! And everything is so shiny, and-“

She suddenly cut off her increasingly fanatic rambling with a slight cough and a sheepish smile, scratching the back of her head. ”Um, sorry, I get a little excited about things sometimes. Everyone tells me I need to learn to rein it in a little, so yeah, sorry about that.” It’d be the biggest bummer ever if she drove him off with her motormouth- how many chances would she ever get to talk to a robot?

Glitch had eagerly taken the offered hand, giving her a good firm handshake. His hands felt soft too, not the metallic hardness one would expect from a robot. But….well he claimed to be a robot, so surely he was one. Right?

“Ah! Well, welcome! You’ll learn your way around here soon enough. It’s pretty big though! Stay closer to the center here, with the Tower. It’s not as safe in the outskirts. Yep, definitely seen the Tower! I’ve been in it...well not this new one, the old one. Before things happened, ya know? Or maybe you don’t since you aren’t from here…..oh well, it doesn’t matter.”

The unicorn was grinning. He released her hand and simply watched her. Her excitement didn’t bother him, not one bit! Nor did the staring. Really, staring was something Glitch was used to.

“Nah, I don’t see why you should rein in anything. You’re just fine this way! So….I guess if you’re new, I could walk you around a bit? Just to make sure you don’t get lost.”

What else was he gonna do with his day, hrm?

Naien Haigara
Glitch never thought he’d have a fangirl! You’re moving up in the world Glitch.

In her excitement, it actually took her a moment to realize just how… not-robot-like Glitch’s hand felt. Once it registered though, she tilted her head to the side to better regard the larger hand in hers and gave a slight extra squeeze in curiosity. He must be super advanced or something, she figured, to resemble a flesh and blood audio so closely. So cool.

“Thank you!” she chirped, grinning back at him. “I hope you’re right- I haven’t been going far, but I’d love to be able to explore more without getting lost.” He’d been inside the huge building though? She’d gone close, but hadn’t worked up the nerve to see if the public were allowed through the doors. She was practically bubbling over with all the questions she’d love to ask about what it was like, but… She frowned thoughtfully at the mention of ‘before things happened’, and bit her lip lightly. “Yeah… On my way into town, it was a little scary actually! But then I made it closer to the middle and everything looked better.” He didn’t need to worry about her wandering far- she hadn’t felt any need to return to the eerie scenes of ruin she’d passed through. They’d rebuilt that whole huge Tower though? She had a hard time comprehending the amount of work that must have taken- just how long ago had ‘things’ happened?

His reassurances brightened her right back up however, and for the moment anyways, she put the questions about past events aside. It wasn’t very often that someone told her she didn’t have to tone it down- and not only that, he’d just offered to hang out with her for even longer! “Really? You’d be willing to show me around?” She almost bounced in excitement. “I mean, I wouldn’t want to keep you from important robot-things or anything…” Despite her words, the hope was obvious in her voice- she’d love to wander around with him for as long as he’d let her. She could take the chance to not only learn her way around a bit, but ask all sorts of things- who knows how much cool stuff a robot must know!

Important Robot Things? Glitch just laughed a bit at that. It was cute, really! Someone actually thought he was important. And it was someone who wasn't Fox! EXTRA POINTS!

"Well...I don't have a particular -function-, I just do what I can to help when I can. So while that keeps me super busy it also means I can show you around. Because...well, that would be helping you. And Glitch would really like to help you!"

Buuuut maybe they should get a little further away from the Tower, before someone recognized him. Glitch headed off, motioning for the other to follow him. He was more than happy to point out everything as they passed it, letting her know all the important facts about the City. ...In reality it sounded like damn near everything he knew about the City.

Maybe everything he knew was important!

Like that over there was somewhere he often spotted the Robot Masters, and that rooftop up there was a favorite perch of General Proto! Did you know that even though Sheep is simply adorable he could actually deliver a particularly nasty Shock? Or that Bubbleman could only hop around? Weird flaw, huh?

He was simply full of information.

Naien Haigara
Glitch just says, be adorable like him. Whistle, and say your name constantly 8D ALL THE FANGIRLS THEN.
PostPosted: Sun May 25, 2014 12:24 pm

Ears perked up, she trotted off after him, happy to head in whichever direction he chose for their tour. “So you’re more of a multi-purpose robot, then?” That was still super cool. She honestly wasn’t sure what sort of specific function they’d give to a robot as complex as he seemed to be anyways- but the only other robots she’d even seen were the simple little helper things that scuttled around sweeping streets and whatever else. She’d tried talking to one once, but it hadn’t done anything other than beep loudly, and move around her to continue on with whatever it was doing. There wasn’t really any comparison- Glitch was way better company!

As they headed through the streets in no particular pattern she could pick up on, she paid close attention to his words as he pointed things out, though the sheer volume of stuff he knew surprised her- she was absolutely going to try her best, but she probably wouldn’t be able to remember it all. She didn’t have super robot-memory or anything, after all, and it seemed that there was just as much stuff to know about the City as there was actual City to wander through- lots and lots.

Not helping was the fact that for every bit of information Glitch had to share, Nir had at least as many questions, and wasn’t hesitating to blurt them out pretty much as soon as they crossed her mind. “What’s a Robot Master? Is that like, boss robots?” “If General Proto is a General, does that make him a boss-boss robot then?” “Are you a boss robot Glitch?” “Does Sheep actually look like a sheep? Is he fluffy?” “Does Bubble have lots of trouble getting around? I had a pogo stick when I was little, I kept falling off and didn't get anywhere.”

Unit full of information- meet unit full of questions.

Demy-Stardust
Ashe does think she's pretty adorable, but her attempts at whistling have proven unfortunate. She will have to blaze her own trail towards fame and adoration, but she thanks you for your advice Glitch.

Oh! This was great! The more questions she asked the more opportunity he had to talk (not that he wasn't blabbing his head off as it was) and be helpful. Man, why couldn't he run into people new to the City more often?

Now to hit all these questions...

"Robot Masters are more advanced robots! Like..that little guy over there scuttling around cleaning the windows is a normal robot. It's a specific task for that bot and he unfortunately doesn't do much else besides that. The Masters are high ranking bots, super advanced, they have personalities and everything. They can do all sorts of things!"

But mostly? In-fighting. Oh yeah. Build a bunch of bots with weaknesses to each others weapons and the probability of conflict was mighty high.

"I'm not sure exactly how to classify Proto outside of he's the General. The Masters listen to him..usually, and when they don't he's strong enough to knock them in line. So I guess he's a boss-boss? But Glitch doesn't know...Proto is just General Proto."
And he knew better than to question that.

"Sheep is rather fluffy! He's not -fully- a sheep, but he's got enough fluff to be one. As for Bubble I imagine he probably gets tired hopping around, but he gets around pretty good from what I've seen. Water is best for him though, he loves the water."

Naien Haigara
He is simply happy to help!

Glitch was probably the first person she’d ever met that seemed to like talking as much as she did- being able to spit out questions the moment she could think of them and have someone happy to answer them all just as quick was the coolest thing! It was kind of a wonder that they weren’t speaking over each other constantly though, because there certainly wasn’t much silence going on between the two of them as they wandered the streets.

“So the little ones do easy-ish sorts of things then, and just one job each? Do they not have personalities at all then?” Well, she felt a little better now about that street-sweeper that wouldn’t talk to her, if that was the case. “What sorts of things do Masters do then, other than being all high-ranked and stuff? Do they still have specific jobs even though they can do lots of stuff?” Glitch had said that he didn’t have a particular job to do, but he clearly had a personality and was super advanced, so maybe robot masters were a lot like him that way?

There was actually a brief moment of more-or-less quiet as she considered his statements on the General, chewing absently on her thumbnail as she thought. “He sounds like a boss-boss robot to me. Cause if he’s the boss of the boss robots, that’s the boss-boss. But General is a cool title for a boss-boss!” It was so cool that Glitch knew about all these super-important people. Best tour guide ever.

It was actually a little hard for her to picture a fluffy robot, when her mind still automatically associated ‘robot’ with ‘all shiny and metal’, but Glitch had lots of fuzzy bits, so it stood to reason that someone could make one even fluffier if they wanted. It’d take some time still for her to get used to how different robots apparently could be here. “I hope I get a chance to see them sometime- I’d like to see a robot who’s fluffy like a sheep! And one who’s made for water. Are all of them really different like that?” If there were robots who looked like audios and ones who looked like sheep, who knew what other kinds might be around?

Oh, Glitch liked to talk. Especially when the one he was talking to didn't want him to shut up. This was great! He loved hanging around Fox, but by now Fox likely would have a headache and be pleading with the faux Unicorn to shut his damned mouth. To no avail of course, because Glitch simply couldn't help it when he was in a mood to talk.

"Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. It's really random if the little guys have personalities or not. All the Masters do though! And they have things they're built for and are the best at, but since they're advanced they can do more than just that. I think General Proto is best at wanting to be alone quite frankly...but Quickman is best at running! Bubbleman is best at keeping the waters safe and clean, Snakeman can map out an area with his search snakes, all kinds of neat things like that!"

Glitch's tail was waving rather fast behind him as they continued to walk. The wires that formed the tip of his tail seemed to writhe around as well, almost like they were alive. Whatever though, he seemed happy enough.

"I'm sure you'll see plenty of robots while you're here! The City is full of them, after all. And...yeah, a lot of them are really different from each other. Keeps things interesting, you know?"

Of course she didn’t want him to shut up, he kept telling her interesting things! Well, pretty much anything about the City and everything in it was interesting to Nir right now, but that was totally beside the point. Glitch could keep on talking until they ran out of City to explore, as far as she was concerned.

“Oh, I see!” She nodded, considering that briefly. “Is there any way to tell which of the little guys have personalities, other than going to talk with them?” She sort of hoped so, because then she’d know which ones she could go talk to without getting ignored and looking stupid. It was sounding like it’d be way cooler to talk with a Master anyways, but with important jobs to do they might be busy even if she did see one, and she wouldn’t want to keep anyone from their work. “They all sound really cool! How fast can Quickman go? And what’s a search snake, how do they map places? Everyone you’ve mentioned except boss-boss Proto seems to have a really descriptive name though, are all of them like that? Is it a Robot Master thing?” That’d be really handy if it were true- it’d be way easier to remember all the names!

Nir was practically skipping along beside him by this point, and her tail was swishing just as happily behind her- but of course that wasn’t nearly as interesting as his was, and her eyes would be drawn to the end any time the cables made a particularly energetic motion.

…She really wanted to touch them, and every so often she’d catch her fingers starting to twitch towards the waving wires before she realized and snatched them back to her side. It’d be really rude, to just poke at him without permission, and that was the last thing she wanted to be! So, she tried her best to rein in the impulse- maybe she’d work up the nerve eventually to ask if it was okay to touch them.

“I really hope so! I want to see all of them, especially if there’s so many different kinds!” She probably had no idea just how many types of robots there were in the City- honestly, she’d probably want to see them all no matter how long it took. It’s not like she was planning to leave any time soon. At that point though, she suddenly had a thought- and, of course, voiced it immediately. “Where do all of them come from? Is there a great big robot factory somewhere?” If there was, that would be a great place to go to see all sorts of bots! Wouldn’t it?

Demy-Stardust

Oh, and now he was spouting random facts! Quickman's speed...well it was simply legendary. He was the fastest around! And search snakes were super special little snakes that sent back information to Snakeman to map out an area.

And...well Proto's name was just...weird. Glitch didn't understand it, but he didn't understand Proto either so it was okay.

If he had known there was great interest in his tail, he certainly would have allowed the other to touch it. But since he was unaware of this fact, he simply continued to wave it around.

"I...think there's a factory or something nearby. I dunno really! I know most of the higher ups live in the Tower, but I am not sure if that is where they are built. Some things are a mystery, even to Glitch!"

Despite how very -full- of useless information he was.

Naien Haigara
Poor Glitch just isn't sure what Proto's specialty is. He isn't sure what a Proto is, it's not like a Quick! Or a Snake! Or a Sheep! UGH PROTO why you so confusing to Glitch huh?!
