This is an AIM Rp log between Vollyballrocks91's Cole and bella dea's Nevara bella dea This was place was so peaceful, the sun was shining above her, the light spring breeze rustling up her short hair. And she could now feel the droplets on her cheeks as the water crashed against the rocks below. The waterfall ahead of her had always been a sanctuary, a place where she felt most comfortable and serene. It was part of the reason he’d chosen this place ages ago. And her hooves seemed to take lead her here of their accord. But why? That was the question, wasn’t it? Did it have something to do with Cole? The need to confide in someone about everything? Or perhaps she sensed that he needed a place of sanctuary as well as she needed hers back. There wasn’t much of a bank before the falls, but the grass was a deep green with purple and white flowers that grew up in random spots. The woods were on either side of the small clearing, which gave the illusion of some kind of privacy. It took Nevara a few moments before she could finally step out into the clearing. Her nose upturned as she took in the lovely scents around her. Sniffing her fill, she looked back to her companion, Cole, her pale eyes looking to him with sincere fondness. “This… is my vavorite place. “ she said softly. Vollyballrocks91 Cole had continued to follow his companion for weeks now, but now it wasn't just him blindly following, he wanted to be with her. He wanted to protect her, see her happy and safe. His mind had slowly been changing the more time he had spent with her, and it was a completely new experience for him. And surprisingly pleasant. She didn't ask for anything of him, still after all this time.
"It's beautiful." And he meant it. He'd never once said things like that about something as insignificant as scenery. Yet another thing she'd changed. "Do you come here very often?" He was even speaking full sentences! The stallion stepped up to the edge of the pool and dipped his head for a drink, enjoying the light spray he felt from the falls. Quote: "I used too... alot actually." she smiled wistfully. Her head tilting slightly to watch him as he moved. For some reason, she found herself doing little things like this more often. Watching him, leaning closer to him and every once in a while brushing against him when she could. His just being there gave her a sense of security and warmth that she never felt before, even with her prior mate. Still though, she wasn't ready to answer why it was she felt that way. "I used to come here to be by myself vhen i vas little. It always... calmed me vhen i vas upset." she said, smiling. "Vinding a place that does that for you.. is hard." Her gaze shifted to the falls, to the water pounding against the rocks. "But.. I stopped coming.." Quote: He lifted his head to peer at her as she spoke, and was about to ask if she wanted to be here alone. "You stopped? Why?" He himself didn't have a place he could go to be alone. Technically he was always alone so he'd never needed to seek out such a place. Though he was curious why she felt she needed to.

Quote: Stealing another glance at Cole, she felt her mouth curl slightly at the sides. Noting that the ache she used to feel coming to this place, had dissipated. "I tried to avoid it after my old mate left me." she stated softly. Amazed by how unfazed she was by her statement. Usually just thinking about it was enough to make her chest burn, but it wasn't. "It just carried too many memories. But.. It noticed it's important to me. Not for memories sake, but.. because it has a way of enlightening me to my feelings." Perhaps, it meant that she was finally moving on with her life. Quote: Had she ever mentioned an old mate? It wasn't ringing a bell but it definitely took him by surprise. "Why would he do that?" Was that.. anger rolling off him? Even though she'd said it without any hard feelings, he didn't like what it implied. That someone she cared for had abandoned her. But it was also none of his business. "I.. Sorry." He paused for a moment, it seemed he was collecting himself. "I'm glad you still like this place." Quote: The tone in Cole's voice caught her off guard and Nevara's chin popped up to look at him, her eyes meeting his for a brief moment, before they skirted away. "I... vasn't good enough for him. None of us were apparently." she said softly. That similar ache returning for the briefest moment, making her catch her breath. "I'm just... I.. " Blinking frantically she tried to rid her eyes of the stingy feeling building up. This place was a refuge she would go to, to think about her mother. And calm down after nights of crying. It wasn't just her old mate that left her, but her mother and children. And yes, her children need their own lives. But in a way, it just hurt to be constantly left behind. It was an ache that just seemed to build up over time until it finally crashed over and she broke down. Especially without this place. Taking a deep breath, she slowly released it. Repeated the action and then spoke. “I’ve just.. wasn’t worthy enough I guess for those I loved…” Though her mother had explained her side of the story, it still left her feeling a bit self-conscious and defective in a way. Unlovable. The clench in her chest made her gasp softly, her eyes closing, holding back the sorrow that threatened to break free. Quote: Cole moved forward and rubbed his nose against her cheek. “I don’t believe that.” This mare had helped him through so much already and those worthless individuals made her think she was worthless. Unacceptable. “I think you’re pretty great, Nevara. If anyone tells you differently… I’ll take care of them.” Quote: Nevara sniffled slightly, lifted her head to look up at him as she felt the warmth of his face against her cheek, giving her the little bit of comfort that she needed. "Cole.." she whispered softly, closing her eyes and blinking away the tears that gathered there. "You really are... a.. a.. vonderful stallion. I really hope you know that.." Quote: He blinked at her curiously. "Well I.. I don't know if I would go that far. I just don't want you to be upset." He gave her a look over. She still seemed sad but it had lessened a bit. "Are you alright? Do you need something?" Quote: "You are.. and I've seen it." she said softly, sniffling the last bit of her upset away. Though her eyes still hurt slightly, she refused to continue to let it her fall. After all, she wasn't alone. At least not now. And that's all she could have asked for at the time. "J-just stay vith me a vhile." she asked, rubbing her nose against the side of his neck.

Quote: He was wonderful, huh? Weird. He certainly wouldn't have labeled himself that. Her nose rubbing against him.. did strange things to his insides, and gave him chills. "Sure. I'm here." To emphasize his point, he laid down next to her. Quote: Laying herself down beside him, she rested her head next to his and looked at him, really looked at him. There was so much to this stallion that she didn't understand. So much that she could tell he had gone through, and yet, with her, he was so gentle and yet protective. So quiet and yet knew how to comfort someone when they really needed it. Smiling to herself she let out a sigh. "So vhy don't you believe yourself to be a male of vorth?" she asked curiously. "I may not know much about you.. but I do know vat you are." And she really did.His efforts in affectionate comforting were enough to make her chest flutter with emotion and smile more often than she had in so long. Quote: Cole glanced at her out of the corner of his eye and looked away quickly. What did he say to that? She had so much faith in him already, as if he was on some pedestal, and he hadn't done anything to deserve it. "I know you have eyes, Melanie. You can see what makes me.. unworthy." He blew air out his nostrils in a heavy sigh. He was tainted. Bloody. Rough and cold. His eyes drifted back to her briefly. "And what am I?" Quote: "Vhat I see? I see.. A male vat has gone vrough so much. And even in light of vat, has become a caring individual vat I have come to.. really.. like" Her gaze never wavered from him even though he turned away. She wanted him to see the truth in her eyes. To know that he really was worth more than he thought for himself. Quote: "You're wrong. Sort of. I didn't care. Didn't care about anything or anyone. I don't.. I don't even remember parts of my life because I was basically dead. I care because of you." Now he did look at her. She wanted him to see her truth, and now he wanted her to see his. "You made me care about something. And.. it's like you woke me up from a bad dream. A really long bad dream. Even if you leave, find somewhere else to go, things you have to do on your own. I won't forget it. I owe you a debt I can never repay.." Quote: Looking back into his eyes, Nevara blushed deeply before her eyes skirted to the ground, then back up at him. A wide smile curving her mouth "I'm so glad..." she crocked. Her eyes stinging slightly with unshed tears. Why was she crying so much lately? It just wasn't natural to cry when you were happy. Or was it?
Buring her cheek in his neck again, she nuzzled him. "I don't plan on going anywhere. Alone at least. Vat is, if you'll come vith me." Quote: Cole couldn't resist resting his head lightly atop hers. It just felt.. right. "You say you want me to come with you now, but how long before you tire of my company?" Quote: Sighing contently she murmured. "I'm not sure I ever will..." Quote: The corner of his mouth twitched slightly in a bit of a smile. "Whatever you say." -- END
