Just a small portion of what used to be the famed Crime Alley. The sections of the Alley that do not exist in this world are nothing more than crumbling mounds of broken concrete and fractured buildings too dangerous to try to clean up. Not that the city would be able to afford to clean up a line of demolished buildings anyway.

Rosie shook her head in response to the Count's question. "I don't know. It was like this when Mommy found it. She said because it was fallen in like this, it would be too hard for anyone to try and clean up without risking knocking out the other buildings. Said it didn't look like any anyone was hurt. Probably got moved into another building or something." she replied. She lookedaway from the Count to look around the mix of chipped and unharmed buildings around them. "Should be back one of these little side alleys. Have to go through the back. That's where Momma set up a magic door. More stable there."
Edmond simply nodded in response to Rosie's explanation. When she proceeded to direct him he looked around some more. "There are many side alleys." Edmond said as he started with one in the middle. Not surrounded by too much damage but not untouched. Then again nothing was really untouched. Still it was a start. From here he would work his way down towards the more stable buildings in Crime Alley until Rosie found the right one. Then, if she had not found it, he would start again at the highly unstable housing.

"It's down this one." Rosie said as Edmond moved down the first alley. "We just go down through this one and we'll come to an opening." And it wasn't long before the two did come to a small open area behind the buildings lining the street. As Rosie had said, there was a pile of broken chunks of building and and rubble in the opening close to the more unstable buildings. Some looked as though it was sections of the unstable buildings, while others seemed to be tossed there to be out of the way. "Head over towards that building over there." Rosie said, pointing towards a building that was partially fallen onto another. There was a large chunk of wall that had fallen, with a door still intact and partially buried under chunks of concrete.
"Momma put a magic spell on that door there. Just need to put my hand on the right brick, and the door will open up to a hallway into our house."
As he had been directed the Count brought Rosie towards the building. Once they arrived he kicked a chunk of concrete gently several times so that it was positioned into a chair like formation and once that was done the Count set Rosie down on the concrete chair. "Stand slowly and if you need leverage I will provide it, however we are far to close to your home for me to continue carrying you." The Count explained as he looked towards the door. He sauntered over to it and pulled aside some of the concrete so that Rosie wouldn't have to climb over anything when she opened the door. Once he made the optimal path for Rosie to walk through the Count returned to her and offered his hand to help her stand.

Rosie sat quietly as the Count went to work on making a path for her. She frowned lightly as he did so, looking from him to the door. Even if he wasn't doing this to be nice, this was the first time Rosie had been around someone so helpful towards her besides her mother. Suppose she'd be on her own again soon enough though.
She looked up at him as he approached her again, then gently lifted her arm to take his hand. She moved slowly to stand, as he had told her to. Her face scrunched in pain as she placed weight onto her leg again, but that was as far as she let herself be caught up in it. "Thank you..." she said again, then began hobbling towards the door.
Once there, she leaned over and reached her free hand down towards the bottom left edge of the door. There she placed her fingers on the brick next to the door, and gently pressed her hand against it. The brick moved inwards, then began to glow lightly. "Okay, can you open the door please?" she asked, standing straight again. "It should swing inside now."
Once the door was opened, there should be nothing but a small set of stairs that led into a dark hallway. Gossamer had been sure to place one more door inside, just to help keep out anything she didn't want inside.
The Count watched carefully as Rosie sought out and pushed in the brick. He took mental notes incase he had to repeat the action when he came back with her mother, or at least news about her mother. He looked around again at everything before he pushed the door open. When he saw the stairs he let out a low sigh. "Damn. Just when I thought I was out, they out me back in. " The line was intended to humor Rosie as he picked her up again, fully realizing she should not go up or down stairs with her leg like it was. However he didn't realize Rosie may just be too young to understand the reference. Regardless he said it and it could not be taken back now. So with Rosie in his arms he proceeded up the small set of stairs into the hallway where he just continued to carry Rosie forward. "There is little sense in putting you down just to pick you back up again if we encounter more stairs." The Count explained as he walked.

"There's just one more little bit of steps." Rosie replied. "Sort of like porch steps to get inside. Only... its steps going down into the living room once you open the door. This one isn't locked either. With the magic door outside, its hard for anyone to find our house." she explained. Once they reached the second door, she waited for him to open it. She had warned him that there were a few steps down to get into the room, so she shouldn't have to worry about him tripping.
The door opened into a large open area that... looked as though it were meant to be a living room. A large and very expensive big screen tv was perched on the wall to the side, and several comfortable and slightly worn couches were circling in front of it. There was a small, antique wooden table before the couches, then a much larger antique dining table behind the couches, fully decorated with equally expensive looking items. Next to the dining table was an obvious kitchen area. Counters lined the wall, along with a bran new refrigerator, stoves, freezer, and dish washer.
With what Rosie had said about her mother, it was easier to assume that these things were not bought. Considering how bran new or expensive everything had to be. With how hard it was got get through the door though, it was more a question if they were magically created or plain and simply stolen.
To the other side of the make shift house was a rather interesting looking wall that was covered in rainbow-colored fur. Where it ended, a small hallway could be seen, then a normal looking wall with a few doors.
Just a heads up, the "search program" the Count is using is just a plot device so that you and Comic Book Joker have enough time to do what you guys want to do before the Count shows up. So don't feel rushed.
It would take more than a few surprise steps to trip the Count, a man who leap off buildings into the windows of even taller buildings. Granted he had only done that twice and he did stumble a bit the second time. So once the Count opened the door into the muck larger area he proceeded down the few steps carefully and set Rosie down on one of the various couches.
"Try not to leave the couch unless their is something you really want." The Count instructed as he picked up what he assumed was the television remote and set it down next to Rosie so she could watch the TV as she waited for him to find her mother. Then he reached back and took his phone from the small pocket on his quiver so he could check on the programs progress. He still had a little while to wait.
Knowing he had some time Edmond allowed himself to relax. He didn't sit or lean on anything, it was more of an internal relaxation, however he did look around. After noticing the wall he felt inclined to ask "Why do you have a rainbow fur covered wall?"

Alright, thanks! Goss and Rosie should be heading out of his hide out once CBJ gets back.
Rosie relaxed a bit as the Count sat the remote to the tv down beside her. Gently, she picked it up and looked over the buttons as he seemed to pause for a moment. She could watch cartoons she supposed. That would get her mind off things. If there was anything good on tonight, anyway.
She blinked when she heard him ask about the wall, then slowly sank into the back of her seat. "Oh. Um... that's Unikitty. Like from that new cartoon movie with the blocks? Looks all cut and nice until it gets angry and eat things." she replied, then looked up at him. "Just... stay on this side of the house. Not saying that it will eat you or anything, but it growls. A lot. I uh... I thought I'd play with Mommy's spell book once. Tried to turn the lamp into one of those rainbow cat toys that was on tv." she said. She looked back at the wall, then carefully turned back around in her seat. ".... Mommy can't figure out what exactly I did. She can't get it to change back into a wall. She's impressed that I made... that thing. But I don't think I'm very good at magic."
So should the Count arrive before or after they leave?
"Oh, well then alright." The Count sat down on a couch in generally the same area as Rosie that was turned enough so he could keep an eye on the rainbow colored furry wall. He then looked at his phone, which he had not put back, and began looking up articles on the Joker. The Count was trying to get a general idea of who he was going to go after. He looked for things like common gags, hiding places, and enemies. Batman seemed to pop up a lot as well as failed plots. However information on Batman would not help him right now. The Count even tried to compile what the Joker's sense of humor was. He figured it would help him get into the clown prince of crime's head. It took a while and the silence began to bother him so he spoke up. "Magic is probably like a muscle, just keep practicing and you will get better. But start with little things. "

He can arrive before they get there if you want him to. As far as I'm aware, Joker will be occupied with something else, and won't be coming after Goss. Though, the Rosie there will likely refuse to leave until Joker comes out.
"Mommy said something like that too." Rosie replied, turning the remote around in her hands. Nervous little habit. She didn't like it being quiet either, but she didn't feel right just turning on the tv with the Count still here. Didn't want to feel like she was ignoring him or anything. "She said I just needed to practice more. And not get into her spell books."
"Not sure what kind of little things I can try. A lot of her books are bigger spells. I think maybe she was going to get something when we moved." Oh... that was more of an "if" they moved now, wasn't it.
Frowning, she flipped the remote in her hand again and clicked the tv on. Trying to distract herself from the thought that had crept up on her again.
Edmond did not respond after she turned the TV on. He wasn't a very adept user of magic, he even found the practice a little illogical but he could not deny it's existence. He had seen it too many times to do that. Instead of conversing Edmond set his quiver down on a table and began going through the arrows he had. It was times like this that he was glad to have upgraded the space for arrows in his quiver because he had plenty left. This had been a long night for him but he still had work to do. Once he had taken inventory Edmond sat back down and set his quiver down next to him. He produced his phone again and continued profiling the Joker. He did once try to calm Rosie's nerves. "When I get your mother back, she can teach you everything. "

Rosie quietly flipped through the channels as Count went about doing his own thing. She paused every now and then on a certain channel, but would skip on to the next. "I hope so..." she said quietly. "I'd like to be as good at magic as she is. Then I won't worry so much about being by myself. Or... I'll be able to do more if something does happen." she said, flipping through more channels.
The news popped on, and she paused a moment to see what it had to say. Weather, bit about Batman... then she flipped through again.
"Just don't rely only on magic to help you or one day when your magic fails you you will have no way to help." The Count advised before finishing his profile on the Joker and putting his phone in the pocket on his quiver he had for it. "When I do what I intend to do you should try to gather the other Rosies. By the time you find all of them you may find a way to fix the situation you are all in. Otherwise you will always be at risk of someone one day trying to kill you in the street because a duplicate did something." The Count added to his advice before he turned his attention to the TV. He had time to spare and since he wasn't in his office he couldn't do anything very productive now. If he left now and went to his office it would probably frighten Rosie because it would seem like he had failed given how long the program might take. So watching TV was his alternative.
