The next few hours were chaos to the extreme, much more for the fallen angel then for the ex hunter as the guy had taken the opportunity to pass out in his arms. For starters he had to convince Micah that this guy wasn't a evil hobo, but a 'old friend of his', and when she begun to suspect the true identity of the human he again had to convince her that he wasn't going anyone and yes, this guy was just a old friend.
Then, hoisting the unconscious man over his shoulder he carried him back to the mansion, where who else would greet him but his parents.
"Mommy! Big brother brought a old friend home!" Micah ran straight to their mother, while everyone else looked on in bafflement. It wasn't everyday he brought a guy home slung over his shoulder, much less a guy dressed in rags.
"Zanthvos" their mother looked at him, concern showing upon her face. "Is that a human...slave?"
"You could say that." It wasn't like he wasn't, since now humans were supposed to serve under them and all that. "I found him on the street. So I just picked him up. Saves me spending money on a over-priced slave anyway."
She didn't look so impressed. "But he looks so dirty..."
"Nothing a bath or two wouldn't clean up." He went to walk up the stairs "Now if you'll excuse me..."
Another voice chimed in "And just where do you think you are going, young boil?"
Well, s**t. "I am going to my room, father." He turned around, frowning at the sight of his father whom had just walked in. And by the looks of things he had already guessed just who he had over his shoulder.
He didn't look too impressed. "With that hunter?"
Zanth could see from the corner of his eye his mothers shocked expression, colour draining from her face. His sister didn't look any better. "He's not a hunter anymore."
"But he WAS a hunter!"
He just rolled his eyes at the fury in his fathers words. "The keyword in that sentence, 'was'. Now he is just a normal human like everyone else. Fragile and easily broken and all the lovely gruesome details."
"And you expect me to just house him? The one who imprisoned you for so long?! What makes you think he will not do it again?"
"Jason wasn't the one.." He paused as he heard quiet sobbing behind him. "Mother it's not like that...." Well, this was going fabulously.
"Everyone...." He sighed, placing Jason on the floor. "this guy wasn't the one who made into a weapon. He was just the guy who found me when I was already converted. He has no power over me what so ever, nor does he have the ability to 'change me back." I'm done with being the hero of humanity, I have no interest in it I can assure you."
His little speech had quietened them down, but his father still wasn't convinced. "You may say such things, but that doesn't mean he can be trustworthy. No one would be foolish enough to trust them."
"Well then father." Zanth watched him intently. "If he was such a bad fellow, then I would imagine he wouldn't have given me to you so easily, now would he?" When he heard no more arguments, he smiled. "Good. I'm going to my room."
